Highway To Russia - (Audio Drama) - Round #3
Project Overview
Role: Lead / Main Character
A clever and adaptable member of the crew. Elena has experience working security at the Tate Modern and later takes a job as a cleaner at the Helsinki Museum to gather information and provide the group with access.
She's brave, quick-thinking, and surprisingly good at improvising when things go wrong. Elena can be nervous when placed under pressure but doesn't easily give up. She also brings a lighter, more playful personality to the group.
Performance: Needs strong comedic and dramatic range. The actor should be comfortable playing whispered conversations, nervous improvisation, action/heist sequences, and genuine moments of fear.
You told me once… During our trip to Belgium; there's always a way out. And I still believe that. I still believe in you. Even though I’m gonna step out there, face the police… I still believe you’ll come up with a way out of this. I know you will.
How long would they have known about this?
Have you got the diamonds!?
Role: Supporting Character
Jalmari's police partner. Kiira is competent, observant, and considerably more casual than her boss. She assists Jalmari with the investigation into the mysterious intruder and later helps oversee security at the museum.
She's capable and professional but has a dry sense of humor and occasionally questions Jalmari's intensity. Their relationship provides some of the story's lighter police-side moments.
Performance: Natural, understated comedy. Should feel like a competent police officer rather than a caricature.
Sorry, sir, I know it’s late, I—
Just wanted to tell you that twenty officers have put their names forward. Fifteen for the night shift, five for the day shift. I think the month’s worth of extra pay enticed them, sir.
So… Who was that guy we saw today?
Role: Small Supporting
A museum employee assisting with the preparation of the diamond exhibition. The character has a few interactions with the curator and is increasingly frustrated by the curator's constant instructions.
Performance: Naturalistic, mildly annoyed, understated comedy.
For god’s sake…
But you said left!
It looks the same to me!
Role: Small Supporting
A friendly hotel employee who checks Jack, Ash, Elena, and Mia into their hotel. He's pleasantly surprised by the international group and attempts to remind them about paying their hotel bill.
Performance: Friendly, enthusiastic, slightly oblivious.
Here’s your room. Shall I put your bags here?
Goodness, it’s always so lovely to have a group of people from all different countries! England, Poland, U.S—
Sorry, excuse me. Is this your painting? It was left by the check-in desk. I’ve asked every other occupant and—
Role: Background / Ensemble
A group of Finnish police officers and museum security guards assigned to protect the Imperial Diamond Stars.
They have group dialogue and reactions, particularly during Jalmari's briefing about the importance of protecting the diamonds.
Performance: Strong ensemble delivery and believable group reactions.
Yes, sir!
Role: Small Supporting / Radio
A British police officer involved in the response to the Tate Modern robbery. Most of the character's dialogue is delivered over police radio.
Performance: Professional, authoritative, radio-friendly delivery.

Role: Small Supporting
A Finnish character appearing during the Helsinki portion of the story. The role is relatively minor compared with the principal Finnish characters.
It’s pretty late. Can’t you come back tomorrow?
Alright. For five days, with enough room for luggage, you said?
Done. Just a warning though. The battery on the blue one doesn’t play nice. You gotta start her up a few times before she gets moving. And sometimes, very rarely, she can backfire, makes an awful bang noise, but other than that, she’s pretty perfect—
