Motohama is a Contractor, a human with supernatural abilities. He is capable of intensifying the gravity of any target he chooses, so long as they are within visual sight. As a Contractor, he needs to fulfill a payment when he uses his powers, his being a worsening eyesight, hence why he wears glasses. To the Public Security Bureau, he is known by his dossier code IO-010, and is also known by his moniker, "The Gravity Master." He is rated as a Rank 1b Threat to Public Security.
He is also member of the organization, "Gate Royale," a group composed of Contractors and humans. He is also a member and strategist of Team Black Moonlight, partnered with Issei, Matsuda, and Mao, who are fellow Contractors, and a Doll by the name of Yin.

Unfortunately it is this very sense of justice that tends to get him into all sorts of trouble. He does not tend to think much unless prodded, but willingly trades remarks and one-liners with those he fights instead. His curiosity is evident much of the time, and otherwise, he does have a caring side, notable for Olivia, even if she does agitate him at times

Issei is a high school student of average height with short spiky brown hair, with two short locks of hair behind his head, and light brown eyes. Following his training with Tannin in Volume 5, he gained a more muscular and toned build.
While he has worn various outfits throughout the series, his most commonly worn outfit is the Kuoh Academy boys' school uniform, which consists of a blazer (more commonly black, although in other media is shown with a tinge of purple or grey, with white accents) over a white, long-sleeved dress shirt with black highlights with a black ribbon on the collar, matching black pants, and brown dress shoes. However, Issei's uniform differs in the fact that he wears a red T-shirt underneath his open dress shirt and blazer, and wears blue and white sneakers in place of dress shoes. (I dropped the role cause of personal reasons)
