Hero's Tale Rewritten (Again)
Project Overview
Hero's Tale: Rewritten is a project I've been working on for a little over 3 years now, following the story of a boy named Star. Imagine a world where the Thread of Fate dictates where your destiny begins and ends. For millennia, this process has remained undisturbed. Angels watch over the Earth, reincarnate into humans, fulfill their life's purpose, die, and repeat... As Angels, they are gifted powers to ensure Fate remains undisturbed. Until one day, a child with golden eyes is born... A child who should not exist.
HTR is one of my most ambitious projects yet, and I'm looking forward to working with everyone on it! Make sure to put any contact information in your auditions (preferably your Discord or email), so that if you get the role, I have a way to reach out to you!
Also, please please please note, we are not starting production for a little while (as evident by us looking for an artist). This is just so we can get together a full team, get to know one another, and then begin working on everything. As opposed to scrambling to get voices last minute.

After a bit of discussion, we opted to make Hero's Tale Rewritten a manga-style comic as opposed to a full on animation. This is where you'll come in! The software you use doesn't matter, as long as you are proficient enough to really show off your skills (and you can export your art as a jpg or png).
We're looking for a style that's a bit on the scratchier side (see thumbnail), and seeing as color holds a lot of importance in the series, it'd be great if we could get multiple people in this role to work together on coloring, backgrounds, and character art! Just drop some of your work in the "apply" section along with your discord username, and if we like your work, we'll be in touch!

Or, as the main cast calls him, Ren.
Ren is a main protagonist in Hero's Tale Rewritten, although his initial appearance may fool you. His tone immediately gives off a "better than thou" vibe, seeing everybody else as inferior to him. Now, believe it or not, this character was born in the Sengoku Era of Japan, making him a little under 500 years old (gramps.) Despite this, he sounds to be in his 20's, albeit having a deep and almost commanding voice. He's a demon who has been dead for hundreds of years, and thus has lost his memories of who he once was. A man who was feared by armies, a man who was taught to value the lives of men as you would a cow, and a man... Who is sealed in the body of a 17 year old.

(Talking to main character & his friend) "Kid, come with me. I'm going to explain some stuff to the both of you. After the last fight, it dawned on me that you both need this lesson desperately."
(Slowly getting annoyed as someone is trying to bring back his memories) "I don't have anything to remember. Whoever I was before doesn't matter, and if I can't remember, I want it to stay that way. It just means my life was hell before I died, and I have no desire to recall any of that."
(Training the main character, trying to bring out his full potential and getting excited) "You can't hit me with something as pathetic as this, Star! Put more into it! Really show the world what it means to be a Celestial!"

A bit of a sassy woman who also has a soft, almost motherly voice when the mood calls for it. As the main character's (Star's) sister (and mother figure for most of his life), she's very protective of him. She's in her young 20's, and has made it her goal to make sure the main character lives a full life. She's very standoff-ish with new faces, and most certainly isn't afraid to speak her mind, but she's overall a nice person just trying to figure out her own life, and help others through theirs.

(Teaching Star how to fight in preparation for a martial arts tournament) “You just gotta let your body flow like a river. Put together strings of attacks that flow well together. Mastering the art of improv could probably even get you through the first round, if I’m being honest.”
(In desperation and confusion at Star's confidence) "Like hell I'm letting her attack you! You'll be killed, do you get that??"
(Reflecting on the past, talking to Star as he's trying to save the lives of others) “I know… You were never good at conflict. I signed you up for that tournament to toughen you up, and I’m sorry for that. It’s just not in your nature to fight. But look at you now… You used to need my protection for everything, but now… You’re the protector. I’m so… Proud.”

A very minor character in the prologue, however, one of the most important. What is it? The Creator of Creation, of course. Before there was nothing, this being existed. One day, it decided that it would allow someone... Something, to create. Thus, it created Life, what we as people would consider a God, and encouraged it to create whatever his heart desired.
This character will have two voices, one male, and one female!
