Hazbin Hotel The Musical is going to be a big-budget musical based on the animated series, Hazbin Hotel. We're going to be using the story of the pilot episode but we'll also be doing what we can to go more in-depth with the ideas and themes of this world, as well as adding a couple of characters we feel would be interesting to explore with the longer time block. We will be writing original songs while also including songs from the pilot, just extended to fit the more broadway feel we're going for.
REQUIREMENTS
Rehearsals will be held on Discord so you will need a Discord account. You will also need to have some knowledge of the show in some wave shape or form. We're looking for people who are easy to work with so please, be respectful and kind. Now, we're going to be doing what the Spongebob musical did, doing impressions of the characters while also more or less making it their own thing. As such, we want you to sound close to the original characters, but you are allowed to take some liberties. Just don't go too out there to the point where it becomes unrealistic or disrespectful to the original creation.

Charlie Mange is the Hellborn princess of Hell, the founder of the Happy Hotel, and the protagonist. Charlie is compassionate and empathetic to a fault, feeling genuine upset at the idea of harm coming to others. Although she isn't unaware that Hell is populated with souls that have committed egregious acts in their living lives, she still views their yearly extermination as a senseless waste and makes it her mission to help them avoid it via self-betterment and eventual redemption, something she is seemingly alone in believing is possible. Charlie's idealism, while setting her apart from many of her hell-born peers, can also make her naïve to many of the harsh realities that appear to stand in the way of her potential success - something her girlfriend, Vaggie, tries to remind her of, only to be cheerfully ignored in favor of a more blinkered, sunny optimism. This can also cause her to rush headlong into the initial stages of her plans without much preparation. Charlie has a love for musical theatre, song, and dance, and will often convey her emotions and ideas through show tunes and ballads. Despite being sweet and lacking 'street-smarts', this doesn't make Charlie a pushover or stupid. When people insult her or openly mock her ideals and plans, she has no hesitation in standing up for herself.

Vaggie is a Sinner Demon and she serves as the manager of the Hazbin Hotel. Vaggie is a pragmatic and cautious young sinner, who devotes a great deal of her time towards attempting to support Charlie with her vision for the hotel, as well as guide her away from as much trouble or humiliation as possible. It's unclear whether Vaggie fully buys into Charlie's proposed concept for redemption, but she passionately defends it from more skeptical sinners nonetheless. Vaggie is fairly prudent in business, trying her hardest to fill her designated role as hotel management, even with an initial lack of resources and a very run-down property to operate out of. Loyal and kind to those she cares for, but short on patience and trust, Vaggie tends to be very reactive and often takes an immediate defensive stance (with an offense at the ready) when it comes to dealing with potential threats, towards either herself or Charlie. She is also relatively easy to bait past the point of irritation and into more rash explosiveness.

Angel Dust is an adult film star in Hell. A Sinner Demon who was elected to be the first patient the Happy Hotel attempts to redeem, Angel's selfish actions of using the hotel as a rent-free living space threaten to jeopardize Charlie's dream. Angel is sassy and sarcastic, with a sharp wit. He will often use these traits to deflect criticism or insults, and side-step responsibility. He will switch between playful and destructive as he pleases, and his humor tends to be crude and crass, with an emphasis on dirty jokes and innuendo. He is stylish and projects an excessive amount of confidence with his public persona, being wildly flirtatious and interested in receiving positive attention for his looks and the profile he has made for himself in Hell. As a result, Angel can often appear flippant and callous, but in reality, he is preemptively defensive and hides much of his true, more sensitive, self for his own protection, not expecting those around him to show him kindness. Angel does have friends, and while he cares about them and will sometimes show signs of wanting to reach out, he keeps many walls up between himself and others and avoids holding overly emotional relationships. He holds cynical views on the idea of redemption, although he seems to still hold onto a small hope it may be possible for him.

Alastor, also known as The Radio Demon, is one of the many powerful Overlords of Hell. Alastor stands out from many of the more chaotic residents of hell for his well-maintained amiable persona. He gives the first impression of a good-natured and charming man, wearing a permanently wide grin on his face at all times. Alastor's behavior, mannerisms, and even his voice are similar to an old-fashioned radio announcer. This playful dandyish exterior, however, obscures a much darker side to him - one with high levels of self-importance - and he will not hesitate to use physical violence when others don't act in line with his very particular values or expectations. He values good manners, affability, and intelligence very highly in others, and will actively look down on those who do not meet his standards, however, he will often play fast and loose with these arbitrary rules in regards to himself and his conduct. His smiling is also a show of power and dominance, and miserable people are seen by him as weak.
NOTE: While Alastor's accent is listed as North American, it's actually a Mid-Atlantic accent. Please keep this in mind when auditioning.

Husk is a grumpy, lazy, and apathetic old sinner, who is generally uninterested in most things that fall outside of his now very narrow interests; namely gambling, parlor tricks, and prolific drinking. He can be gruff, sarcastic, and even vulgar at times, with a propensity to swear. Despite this, he is said to also be surprisingly patient and able to take outlandish events in his stride, electing to drink his problems away later. He is also said to be something of a softy deep down, and even quite sweet.

She is self-confident and constantly smiles broadly, taking pleasure in committing arson and other various crimes. Despite this wild and carefree persona, Cherri has a more sensitive side as well. She often stays with Angel and comforts him after he gets verbally or sexually abused by Valentino.

Sir Pentious is bombastic, flamboyant, short-tempered, temperamental, and persistent, his personality appearing to take cues from classic 'mustache-twirling' stock villains. He takes a huge amount of pride in his grandiose ideas of how evil and cunning he is. Sir Pentious is oblivious to sexual innuendo and tends to take the things said to him very literally.
