Grimoire: Paranormal Investigations (Original Audio Drama)
Project Overview
Grimoire is the tale of three teenagers who come together by accident to solve paranormal mysteries.
This casting call is for the main characters, as well as for extra roles appearing in the first few episodes.
The audio drama will be released on both Tumblr and YouTube. Each episode will be between 5 and 15 minutes long, and will be released on a monthly basis. For each episode you appear in, you will have 2 weeks to record. Please keep this in mind before auditioning, as consistently missing deadlines will cause you to be removed from the cast.
This project will contain some adult themes, so please take that into consideration. There will also be several LGBT+ characters, including some of the main characters, so if that bothers you, please do not audition.
Rules for auditioning:
1.) Please have a clear microphone with little to no background noise.
2.) The guidelines for each character voice are only guidelines. Feel free to deviate from them if you feel you need to.
3.) Be respectful! If I notice anyone bullying anyone else, I will not cast you, no matter how well your voice matches the character.
Thanks! I look forward to hearing your auditions.

Osa's voice should be lower, a bit sultry, but excitable and emotional.
She is African American, and I would love it if someone of the same ethnicity would play her.
Otis's twin sister. She's a wannabe witch, obsessed with the paranormal and proving the existence of ghosts. Easily excited by her passions and exasperated by her brother's fear.
(laughs) What, you think I’ll be eaten by a ghost or something? Why, dear brother, surely by now you know that I can protect myself! I am a witch, after all.
(cheerful) Yup! Isn't it creepy?
(scoffing noise) We’ve been here, like, two minutes! And have you seen a ghost yet? An actual ghost? No, you haven’t. So, we’re going upstairs.
Penelope's voice should be feminine, with sweet tones. She usually speaks with a very calm, yet cheerful demeanor.
Penelope is a ghost, and has been dead for over 200 years. She's sweet and kind, but worries a bit more than she should.
(concerned) Are you sure you're going to be okay? You're not hurt or anything, are you?
(giggles) Why yes, I suppose that does make sense!
No.... I think, perhaps I knew the answer at one time, but...I can't seem to remember anymore. Ah, but don't worry about me! I'll be just fine!
Students at the local college.
There will be multiple people cast in this role! Any gender and tone of voice is fine!
I don't get it. Are you sure we went over it last week?
We were supposed to do pages 23 to 27.
Oh my God, did you see her hair? Wasn't it great?
A teacher at the local college.
Any gender and tone of voice is fine! Please try to sound "scholarly," however!
Good afternoon, class. Please settle down.
Now, if you would all turn your attention to your syllabi, please.
Didn't I tell you to settle down? Go stand out in the hallway until class ends!
Otis should have a deeper voice, though it should be higher-pitched when he's frightened.
He is African American, and I would love it if someone of the same ethnicity would play him.
Osa's twin brother. He's an engineering student. He wants to protect those he cares about, but he's easily frightened, especially of the paranormal. He screams a lot, so be prepared!
(startled) Wait, wait, wait. A haunted house? Osa! No way in hell are you going someplace like that! It’s dangerous!
(give me several different screams)
Uh, Osa...maybe we should just, you know, go back home! I mean, haha, I’m sure the...haunted house...will still be here. At a later date. Maybe even in the daytime! Haha...wouldn’t that be nice? I--h-hey! Osa? Where’d you go?!
A poltergeist residing in a haunted house.
This character can be of any gender, and has a menacing/malevolent voice. They take joy in the suffering of others.
(menacing laughter)
Why, isn’t it obvious?
We're going to have fun! (laughs)
Molly's voice should be higher-pitched, but not cutesy. Usually tries to speak in calm tones, but always has some hidden emotion underneath. She speaks in a "proper" way, as well.
A mystery novelist, Molly is very clever and creative. She is, however, afraid of the unknown, which includes supernatural entities. She screams a lot, so be prepared!
(give me several different screams)
(angry) What?! Ghost?! I beg your pardon!
...I see. Well, I think I’ve had quite enough of this place, myself. I’ll join you.
