This is a fan dub of Gokurakugai, a Japanese manga series that combines supernatural horror, action, comedy, and drama.
This is a project made for fun, I love the series and think dubbing over the series is a great way to show my love for it. But just because it's a passion project doesn't mean I'll take low effort for this project. If you're unable to fully commit to the high-energy, dramatic nature of the project, please reconsider auditioning. The performances should be engaging and vibrant to match the complex characters of the series.

Hey guys! It's been awhile! I just wanna thank everyone for their support as we were able to get Episode 1 of the fandub out and its being received positively. Episode 2 is right around the corner and the scripts for Chapters 3-5 have been completed and are being recorded.
Since we're essentially done with chapters 1-5, I want to continue down the line and start casting roles for Chapters 6 and onwards. I look forward to everyone's submissions!

I didn't expect so much support and submissions on this fandub project. I appreciate everyone who submitted an audition and wants to work on this with me.
Thanks to all the support, I've decided to expand the project a bit further by also adapting chapters 2-5. Meaning there will be more roles for people to audition and secure. And if those do well I'll look into adapting even more of the story.
I will add the new roles once the original deadline is reached, and I've casted the roles for Chapter 1.

Alma is one of the main protagonists. He's a young man with disheveled red hair, interspersed with deep blue strands. Notably, he has pointed canine teeth and eyes of a pale aqua hue. His physical prowess is exceptional, and he has a robust appetite.
Alma comes across as a vibrant and spirited individual. He consistently approaches circumstances with a sense of playfulness and innocence, despite this demeanor concealing his ability for keen observation. Even when appearing nonchalant during conversations, he adroitly grasps overlooked particulars and effortlessly recollects insights gathered from casual dialogues.

Tao Saotome is one of the main protagonists. She is a lady with a hairstyle featuring centrally parted braided hair. Notably, she is tall and wears round blue sunglasses. Her eyes possess a lavender-purple hue.
In spite of her reserved demeanor that might come across as intimidating when upset, she also exhibits a compassionate side that extends help to those in need. She operates a troubleshooting agency and takes care of Alma as an employee. Beneath her role as a "Troubleshooter," she also functions as a specialized "assassin," targeting Magas. While she demands substantial fees for assignments within her agency, she undertakes Maga-related tasks without charge. She is a consistent smoker and has a slightly unconventional habit of sticking out her tongue. Her appetite is hearty, albeit not on par with Alma's. Her preferred weapon is a pistol, utilizing ammunition derived from Alma's blood to combat Magas.

A Maga, some call them disaster beasts. Literal monsters created from the resurrected corpses of man and beast. They are menaces on legs who drink human blood and feast on flesh.

Luka Kiyomine is the heir of the Kiyomine Zaibatsu, a wealthy family. Despite his privileged background, he faced bullying from classmates and frequent conflicts with his father, who disapproved of his passion for drawing. Luka's father often argued with him about his manga supplies, leading to frequent disagreements. One day, after his father removed all his art materials, Luka was sketching outside when he met Yuki, who admired his art. This encounter marked the beginning of their friendship, which Luka cherished despite his father's rule against befriending those deemed inferior.
Luka displays a certain level of authority and outspokenness, attributed in part to his status as the offspring of a renowned zaibatsu, which affords him a degree of influence. Despite harboring apprehension towards Tao's composed yet intimidating demeanor, Luka possesses a grounded nature, particularly in matters concerning his sole confidant, Yuki.

Yaya is a young woman in her 20s. She ties her hair up into twin buns with a straight fringe and has two longer strands shaping both sides of her face. She works as a waitress in Hourai Chinese Restaurant. Her work uniform consists of her wearing a short Cheongsam dress with a black waist apron, black thigh highs and Tai Chi shoes.
Man oh man! You sure can pack it away, Alma. Lucky dog. You never get fat. Where does that food even go?

Luka’s beastman appearance is striking and distinctly feline. He has sleek, cat-like ears perched elegantly atop his head, giving him a sharp, agile look. A long, sinuous tail sways gracefully behind him, enhancing his feline agility and grace. His overall appearance combines human and beastly features seamlessly.
Yukiharu Nishi, known as Yuki, has a personality characterized by his calm and considerate nature. He is portrayed as a friend who values connections deeply, as seen in his relationship with Luka. When Luka finds him battered and in distress, Yuki urgently warns Luka to stay away, showing his awareness of the danger and his instinct to protect his friend. Despite his vulnerable state, Yuki's priority is to ensure Luka's safety, reflecting his concern for Luka even when he's in a dire situation. His demeanor reflects both his vulnerability and his strength, as he remains protective of his friend Luka, despite his own challenging circumstances.

Yoki is a male Beastman who looks like a mix between a dog and a wolf. He refers to himself using the pronoun "Washi." Friendly by nature,
Yoki is known for his enthusiastic and open demeanor. He warmly welcomed them upon their arrival at the Saragi Anti-Maga Organization, showing genuine care for their well-being. He often reminds them to be cautious before taking any actions.
(Excited) Arf Arf Arf Arf!! Welcome baaack!! It's been too long, you two!!
(Ashamed) Did it everrrr!! He kept beating around the bush, so I had to let him raise the price TWICE to finally get the location outta him!
(Lovingly) We're glad you're safe.

Dara is 29 years old, she's calm and collective and rarely gets caught off guard. Gives off a motherly vibe.
She is depicted as a mature woman with long hair and goggles, affiliated with the Saragi Anti-Maga Organization and stationed at its headquarters.

Yoru has multiple personalities, Yoru and Jin.
Yoru's personality has a darker, more unsettling side emerging to protect his other half in critical situations. His other half is gentle, caring, and resilient. He faced tough times with quiet strength, always putting his sister's well-being first and staying hopeful despite their hardships.
(Jin) I'm... I'm not the one who broke the Komainu statue... I swear I'm not lying!!
(Jin) No, um, that's not it! I wasn't admiring how good that bad smelled at all!
(Yoru) Yomi. Are we family? That's great.

A mysterious young man with white hair. He is able to remove the stake that binds Alma, which supposedly only Tao can remove
Yomi possesses a consistently composed manner and tends to speak in a calm and collected tone. He maintains his composure, even during an incident when Yoru acted aggressively towards two intoxicated women, resulting in one fatality and the other's transformation into a Maga. This capacity for tranquility is further evident in his interactions with Alma and the manner in which he confidently introduced himself to Tao and Nei.
What if someone who you thought would always be by your side left you? Until he has someone...who becomes ingrained in his every day life... I'll hold out.
I came here thinking I wouldn't be seeing "this" side of you. At least, that's what I assumed. But I'd say either side has its charm.

Nei, a youthful girl, whose hair is gathered in a ponytail, with eyes of a gentle peach shade. She employs the pronoun "boku" when referring to herself.
Nei possesses a lively and eccentric personality that includes a flair for dramatics. While she may come across as self-assured and even boastful regarding her speed and decapitating skills, she readily abandons this attitude in more sensitive situations. Beyond her skilled swordswoman persona, Nei demonstrates a somewhat immature and childlike nature. She remains attuned to her age and responds with despondency or aggression if not treated in accordance with her seniority. Maintaining a playful yet occasionally competitive rapport with Alma, she often engages in teasing and mutual jesting despite their underlying friendship.
(Obnoxious) Wow! You two look like you've got time on your hands. Yep! Thanks to Lil ol' me! You can praise me now!!

Tatsuomi has an exceptionally warm and cheerful demeanor, often showing a positive outlook, especially around women. He feels comfortable and positive in these interactions. His friendly nature is consistent in various situations, but he is particularly jovial when engaging with the opposite gender.
Tatsuomi's playful side shines through, especially when he encounters charming or attractive women, including Tao. Despite his generally open and cheerful nature, he adds a comedic touch to his behavior in these moments. This ability to mix humor into his interactions showcases his adaptability and brings moments of levity to the team dynamics.

Ryu's personality is a blend of indifference, aggression, practicality, determination, and a complex set of motivations driven by his strong feelings against Magas. He exhibits an indifferent attitude, particularly at the beginning of his interactions with Alma, seeming unconcerned about societal norms and displaying an unconventional approach to teaching. His initial behavior towards Alma is aggressive and provocative, as he encourages confrontations and challenges Alma to overcome his fears and hesitation.

Utsuro is a major antagonist as she is a member of the main villain group. Utsuro is unpredictable and intense, swinging between moments of tenderness and violent possessiveness. She has a deep, obsessive love for those she cares about, but her history of feeling abandoned and misunderstood often clouds her judgment. She’s easily swayed by her emotions, which leads to manic outbursts when things don’t go as she expects. Despite her erratic nature, Utsuro craves genuine connection and care, often misinterpreting affection as love and pushing people away with her extreme actions. Her relationship with Alma is particularly toxic, as she becomes fixated on him to the point of obsession, leading to a violent confrontation that highlights her instability.
Utsuro’s voice should carry the tension of her inner conflict. One moment, she might sound sweet, almost childlike in her desperation for affection; the next, her tone could shift to cold and threatening, filled with possessive rage. Capturing the contrast between her vulnerability and volatility will bring her character to life authentically.

Shizuka is a major antagonist, he is a part of the main villain's group.
Shizuka is an aggressive tough guy who will talk down to anyone who stands in his way. However, as you learn more about he him you come to see that he has a soft spot even though he is a criminal.

Memeko is a main villain, she's a part of the main villain's group.
She's appears to be young, but she carries herself like a caregiver in order to maintain the group's "family" image, however she herself isn't perfect at it and cracks whenever someone says or does something that enrages her.
Do families need a reason to sit around the dinner table?
The less willing she is to kill people the more she'll crave to eat them. She'll give up and come back before long.

Possessing a gentle and compassionate nature, Kanata was able to maintain a cheerful demeanor even during moments of personal difficulty. She chose not to respond in kind to instances of bullying, instead demonstrating a patient and composed attitude.
As previously mentioned, Kanata was a compassionate and likable individual, recognized for her delightful smiles. However, an astonishing truth emerged: Kanata had been deceased and later resurrected as a Maga by Yomi.
Despite her inherent Maga characteristics, Kanata wrestled with an unrelenting hunger for consuming humans. Nevertheless, she exercised restraint in succumbing to this impulse, upholding her dedication to Alma.
