This project will be filmed in minecraft, meaning access to minecraft java is required as well as being comfortable with downloading mods. If accepted, you will get access to a file with all necessary mods attached. This will be a YouTube series, each episode being around 10-15 minutes long. You are allowed to audition for as many roles as you like. Two takes are preferred, but you can do more if you feel it will be beneficial for your audition. This project is currently unpaid, but if we make any financial profits as the series grows we will look into paying people based on the amount of work they have done. Gerald is the main protagonist of the story. He is dramatic, silly, and determined to reach his goals no matter what obstacles he faces. He wants to make new friends, but his insecurities of feeling different gets in the way and he feels like he must make a grand gesture to get people to like him. Despite his determination, he is not very logical and makes impulsive decisions.
Tone: Energetic, mid-to-high register.
(Anxious) Mom! I’m going to be late! Can’t we take more pictures after school?
(shy) Oh! I um… (clears throat) I’m Gerald! (In a silly, high pitched voice)
(normal voice) I think I would like to give badminton a try because it seems really interesting! (Quietly) and if everyone likes me after I get good at it, that’ll only be a side effect!

Sadie is Gerald’s love interest. In contrast to Gerald, she is calm, logical, and confident. Even though Gerald is not very smart and impulsive, she finds him endearing and likes to hang out with him. She is very patient, but will not tolerate those who are mean to other people. She has a large friend group and is often seen talking to them in the background.

(Angry) That’s it mister, I will not have you bully anyone on my watch. Now leave him alone!
(Laughing) Yea, you’ll learn to get used to them… eventually.

Logan is a bully who is determined to make Gerald’s life miserable from the moment they meet. He has a big ego and is mean to everyone for the fun of it. Logan thinks he is popular, but he only has two friends who are also bullies and everyone in the school hates them. Out of the three bullies, he is the “leader”. He has a crush on Sadie and gets meaner towards Gerald after they hang out more. Logan is very impulsive and will do something almost immediately after coming up with it.
Tone: Aggressive, mid-to-high register.

Riley is friends with Logan and is also a bully. He is logical and often has to stop Logan from doing something stupid, which does not always work. He likes making schemes to torment his victims, which mostly fail due to his friends ruining them during their shenanigans. When he is not able to convince Logan to stop and think about something, he will join his friends anyway.
Tone: Calm, low-to-mid register.
(Annoyed) Dude, where are you going?
Wait, let’s find out if he’s in the same class with us first. Then, we’ll embarrass him in front of everyone
(laughing) She’s so weird!

Age: 12-13
Joe is a bully and is friends with Logan and Riley. He does not want to bully Gerald, but joins in with the group anyway. He has a weird, massive crush on Gerald’s mom that he tries to hide, but everyone knows about it because of how painfully obvious it is. Joe’s friends are genuinely uncomfortable by this and Gerald thinks it is annoying. He is less likely to make his own decisions and does whatever Logan tells him to do.
Tone: Medium Register level. However, any other pitches can be fine for this role.
(while running away) Gerald!! Tell your mom Joe says hi!!!

Chris is Gerald’s dad. He is calm, but can be stern when he needs to be. He can communicate with his children properly when he needs to and makes sure they feel seen. He is a loving father and husband and wants everyone to be happy.
Tone: Warm, low register level.I know moving isn’t fun, but at least you can stay in this state until you’re ready to go to college.
(Stern) Gerald, I don’t want to hear it!
Gerald! You know Gina probably has the power to read minds. Either that or she’s really good at guessing what other people are thinking. Either way, she’s your sister and you shouldn’t judge her.

Gina is Gerald’s little sister. She is quiet and mysterious, but finds it funny when she scares people with her potential supernatural abilities. She mostly speaks in a serious, monotone voice. There will be a running gag where she is trying to solve a murder, but Gerald’s random drama overshadows her mission.
Tone: Monotone, mid register. It would be preferred if she sounds like a child.
