Project Overview
In the peak summer of 2005, five deeply codependent high school graduates spend their final weeks of freedom trapped in a humid suburban garage, desperately trying to freeze time before they all separate for college.
The series is a deadpan, slice-of-life animated comedy that captures the specific, low-stakes melancholy of the mid-2000s transition into adulthood. Unlike traditional teen shows that focus on massive parties or high-stakes drama, this show finds its humor and heart in the absolute mundanity of waiting out the clock.
Most of the series takes place in a single location the Mendoza family garage, treating it like a pressure cooker for five distinctly contrasting personalities who have nothing in common except a shared history and a mutual fear of the future.

While she’s an absolute overachiever with massive life goals, she channels her intensity into her counter-culture aesthetic. She’s the group’s sharp-tongued defender who will debate a teacher, win a tennis match, and code a custom HTML layout for her MySpace page all before lunch.
Chronic MySpace User: Asia treats her MySpace page like a full-time job. She is constantly CSS-coding her profile, updating her Top 8 (which is a source of endless drama within the friend group), and picking the absolute perfect, angsty alt-rock track to auto-play when people visit her page.
The Flirt: Asia has a natural, charismatic confidence that can easily be mistaken for flirting. She catches people off guard with her sharp wit, direct eye contact, and playful banter. Half the time, she’s just being friendly or trying to win an argument, completely oblivious to the fact that she just left someone totally flustered.
Tennis: She channels her excess energy into competitive tennis. She plays with an intensity that turns a casual weekend match into a high-stakes psychological thriller.
Caffeine: Because she never runs out of energy naturally, giving Asia an energy drink or a Starbucks Frappuccino is like fueling a rocket booster. The group has a collective rule about limiting her intake for their own safety.

Cash is the unapologetic comedic heartbeat of the group. He’s energetic, loud, and possesses a boundless confidence that completely outweighs his actual skill level. He's the guy who will confidently pitch a terrible idea, and somehow convince everyone to go along with it just for the bit. He’s always extremely overdramatic when he’s around Henry.
The Drummer (In Training):
Cash has recently decided that becoming a rockstar is his summer calling and has taken up the drums. The catch? His physical coordination is absolutely terrible. His rhythm sounds like a sneakers-in-a-dryer cycle, but Henry is far too loyal of a friend to ever break the news to him, allowing Cash to rock out in blissful, chaotic ignorance.
Handwriting: Due to his complete lack of fine motor skills, his handwriting looks less like English and more like a doctor trying to write a prescription while riding a rollercoaster.
He is notoriously bad at texting on his Motorola Razr. Between his poor coordination and T9 predictive text, a simple message like "Meet me at the diner" usually translates to "Meat men fat the dinner."

Kenz is the adventurous, free-spirited contrast to her twin brother's loud chaos. She has a natural cool-girl energy, a sharp sense of humor, and a fiercely loyal streak. Whether she's landing a trick on her skateboard or holding down the rhythm section in the garage, Kenz is all about living in the moment. She’s the one rallying the girls for late-night adventures and sneaking into local all-ages music clubs to dance the night away.
The Bassist: The musical anchor of the trio, Kenz plays bass guitar. She regularly jams out with Henry and Cash. Even though Cash’s drum skills are a complete, uncoordinated disaster, Kenz loves the chaos of their garage band sessions too much to care, locking in with Henry to keep the song from completely falling apart.
On the inside, Kenz is navigating the classic 2005 struggle of being a closeted lesbian. Her main coping mechanism is hiding her true feelings behind "ironic" humor. She constantly jokes around about having a massive crush on their friend Molly, treating it like a funny running gag—mostly because she hasn't fully admitted to herself yet that her feelings are 100% real.
Mirror Magnet: Kenz has an uncontrollable habit of stopping at literally every single mirror, storefront window, or reflective surface she passes. It’s not even about vanity; it’s a subconscious compulsion to fix her hair or make a goofy face at herself.
The Slip-On Solution: Because shoelaces are her kryptonite, she either walks around with her laces dragging in the dirt or exclusively buys skate shoes that she can easily step into without untying.

Henry is the ultimate lovable slacker. While everyone else is panicking about the future, college applications, or summer jobs, Henry is perfectly content operating at his own relaxed pace. He has a naturally soothing, ultra-chill aura that makes him the ultimate mediator of the group. Nothing shakes him, nothing rushes him, and he’s totally fine just seeing where the summer takes them.
The Guitarist & The Enabler: Henry is highly talented on the electric guitar, serving as the melodic backbone of their garage jam sessions. He has a saint-like level of patience, especially when it comes to Cash. While Cash's drumming is an absolute rhythm-less nightmare, Henry is too good of a friend to ever kill his buzz. Instead, he just smiles, nods, and masterfully adjusts his guitar playing to somehow make Cash's chaotic noise sound intentional.
Broken Watch: Henry always wears a classic analog watch, but it hasn't actually worked in years. When people ask him why he wears a dead watch, he usually just shrugs and says it’s right twice a day anyway. It’s the perfect symbol of his relationship with time, he gets there when he gets there.
The Cash Whisperer: Henry possesses the unique superpower of being completely unmoved by Cash’s loudest, most hyperactive moments. When Cash is having a meltdown or pitching a crazy scheme, Henry just listens with extreme calmness, usually neutralizing the chaos with a single, slow sentence.
The Couch Ninja: Henry has an uncanny ability to fall asleep anywhere, at any time, through any amount of noise. You could be blasting a garage punk song right next to him, and Henry will still manage to take a peaceful 20-minute power nap on a lawn chair.

When the group's chaotic personalities clash, Molly is the one bringing everyone back down to earth with a batch of homemade cookies or a comforting pep talk.
Photographer: Molly views the world through a lens and is rarely seen without her camera. She is obsessed with documenting every single second of their final summer together, taking candid photos of garage band practices, late-night diner runs, and beach trips. She’s building a physical scrapbook of their memories, secretly terrified of the day they all have to pack up and leave.
Molly is openly bisexual and entirely comfortable with who she is, bringing a refreshing, grounded confidence to the group. She is completely oblivious, however, to the fact that Kenz’s "ironic" flirting and running jokes about having a crush on her are actually 100% genuine.
Molly’s kindness means she always assumes the best in people, making her the easiest target for pranks. Cash and Henry can look her dead in the eye and tell her that MySpace is deleting everyone's profiles if they don't post a picture of a toaster, and Molly will absolutely believe them for at least ten minutes.
Memory Hoarder: Because she is so focused on capturing the moment, she will completely halt whatever the group is doing, even if they are actively running away from a failed prank.
