This is kind of like a test run for a bigger project I am working on. But don't worry, that doesn't mean I expect any form of longtime commitment. This project can be seen as a standalone, it is just based in the universe of the bigger project and some of the characters will appear in both, but at different ages. (If you do want to be involved with the bigger project as well, that'd be also great! Long time commitment is just not a necessity.)
Ok, but now you want to actually know about the project, right? It is going to be an audio drama (with still images for each scene) about three kids who (not so) accidentally summoned a demon. That's it. Yeah, it's small, I know, but I didn't want to make it too big for my first time trying something like this.
Some information beforehand:
- Most important (and only) rule: Be respectful to everyone else on the team!
- The script touches on some LGBT+ topics and is critical towards some of the conservative views of Christianity. If you are uncomfortable with that, this project is probably not for you.
- The script is completely finished, so you don't have to worry about me losing interest and not continuing the storytelling part. (I won't make it public yet though.)
- There will be no pay. This is purely a passion project of mine and I do not have the resources to pay anyone. I don't get money from this either.
- I don't expect you to have studio quality for your auditions, obviously, but please have recordings with little to no background noises and at a volume I can hear.
- I don't care how old you are, but 13+ would be nice, because I would like to keep in contact via discord. (If that really doesn't work for you, don't worry, we will find a way around that.)
- The gender I specified in the character part is mainly about what gender the voice of the character should be perceived as. Therefore, the two nine-year-old kids don't really have one specified. The gender of the character themself is always noted in the additional notes. (Sometimes indirectly)
- Please don't audition only to then run away when I need the lines. (At least not without telling me.) You can gauge the amount of work by the number of words for each character. Those are the accurate numbers from the script. So don't say you didn't know what you signed up for. (And to be honest: For the VAs it's not that much.)
- As for the artists: All the artist roles are the same. Since, if I manage to get more than one audition I like, I would like to be able to cast more than one. (And I haven't found a way to cast more than one person for one role.) I would like to have a somewhat consistent style, so it would be good if you could work together in some way. How that "working together" will look in the end? I don't know, that would be up to you. I have next to no clue about drawing. I do have some ideas about how I want the pictures to look like, but I would definitely need some advice here. With what I envision right now I would need 19 pictures. That might change though, if you have any ideas of how to make it work with less.
