SynopsisFlora Academia: A Certain Society is a choice-based visual novel game that focuses on a group of students who are finding their place at the prestigious Flora Academia, a school full of immense history and secrets. During the new school year, the group encounters a number of personal challenges, exciting adventures, fights, mysteries, and even a missing person case, but will they be able to continue their journey at the school successfully? Will the group find their missing member? Will their group stick together, or will it break apart along with the academy? Make your choices carefully and see what awaits you in Flora Academia: A Certain Society.
My StoryThis is the biggest personal project I've ever worked on! I've been developing this game on the app Kocho for over two years now. This game spans over 20 chapters, so it has absolutely taken longer than expected. (That is why the video trailer for this project isn't the official game trailer. Once the game is ready to be released, then I will post the proper trailer.) As I am posting this project, I am currently revising the finished draft and preparing it for review for the app's staff to publish on the app eventually. I am not sure when they'll be able to publish it due to necessary updates and a smaller team now, so for now I am taking my game into my own hands in order to share it over my YouTube channel in the near future.
This ProjectFlora Academia: A Certain Society features many dynamic and colorful characters, so I thought it would be nice to give this big project more life by sharing a voice-acted gameplay of it on my YouTube channel. (In order to include voice acting in the actual game, I would have to jump through a bunch of hurdles, so this is the best plan of action available.) Also, if the project is received well, there may be a few optional short videos uploaded on my channel featuring the characters with voice acting involved.
Expectations and AuditionsExpectations:
Patience/Flexibility: [Please have some patience because I will be leading this project on my own. This means that I will be editing, posting, voice acting, and communicating with you all. If someone on the team gets sick and the deadline (most likely two or so weeks per chapter) gets pushed back, please be flexible.]
Respect: (This project features some characters that don't identify as the same way as they were born, and the team will most likely have a range of members who may or may not be part of the LGBTQIA+ community, so please respect one another. *If you think it is fine to hate someone just for a couple differences, then please do not audition for this project.)
Timeliness/Time Commitments/Communication: (Please note that this project will take a long time to complete due to the length of the story, so please only audition for major and supporting roles if you know you are capable of staying involved with this project for that long. Also, please try to follow the deadlines to the best of your abilities, and if you have any concerns or incidents that may get in the way, please let me know!)
Creativity/Drive: (The main thing a voice actor can give is drive. You should be willing to give your lines some life and have fun! If not, then what's the point of reading lines off a boring and lengthy document? Make your character come alive! ^^)
Auditions:
Age Requirement: (You MUST be 16 or older to audition! Later in the game there are a few dark topics lightly mentioned, so please follow this requirement! If you fail to do so, it will reflect your lack of integrity, which is a major part of keeping the project together.)
Audio Quality: (You don't have to have any fancy recording equipment. Just make sure to limit background noises to the best of your abilities and to try to make your voice clear enough.)
What to Include: (Your discord username, a recording of your take on the listed lines, character-specified additions that were listed under certain roles, and your own spice if you're really feeling the character)
Please Consider: (If a role includes the tag emotional voice-acting please consider how much emotional range that role may require! There are major turning points for some characters, so it is important that their voices match the emotional intensity in those scenes!)
Can I audition for more than one role?: (Absolutely! You never know what role you might get if you don't try. Maybe that one role you weren't too sure about suits you the best? Some members of the team may get to voice multiple characters, so share your voice ranges and creativity through multiple auditions.)
Callbacks: (After I review the auditions, I will contact you over CastingCall around the time of the deadline to see if you accept your role/roles. Once you do, I will share the discord server link with you. The full team will have a little party and then we'll start getting down to business with the project.) *Please note that the deadline may get pushed back or extended depending on the current circumstances, but the roles will definitely get assigned at a given point of time.
What about the player/main character role?: (There are so many comments on the surroundings and conversations with the playable character that I would feel awful making someone have to say all of those lines. Therefore, I'll be voicing them.)
