Fictitious Events E01: "They're Doing The Exorcist" (An Audio Drama Pilot)
Project Overview
PLOT:
When supernatural beings known as “the Inciters” begin recreating films in the real world, the underfunded Fictional Events Response Unit (FERU) rush to a house in Prescot, where a twelve year old girl appears to be reliving the events of ‘The Exorcist.’
Film obsessive Matt analyses the “plot,” hardened operative Sarah pushes for a decisive ending, and children’s hospital chaplain Father Chris is dragged in as the unwilling spiritual lead.
The possession escalates, as Matt worries that their latest edition to the team may face the same fate as Father Karras.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:
Evil meets Torchwood meets The X-Files and Whitechapel.
This is an audio drama series that I have been wanting to make for years, but for now, I am solely focusing on making a Pilot Episode. The script is finished and I’m genuinely so proud of it. If you reach out, I’d be happy to send it to you, to peruse! I have experience writing/editing audio dramas and truly believe in this Pilot.
My intention is to make the Pilot, post it on all the good podcasting apps, then make the decision whether or not to continue it as a series. Each episode will follow a different movie, doing a pastiche on the events that occur. The first episode focuses on The Exorcist!
I do have plans for series 1 including Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Jaws, Smile and The Blair Witch Project: so it would be great if you would be willing to return to the role that you apply for!
Sarah, Chris, Matt and Ricky are the recurring characters. We follow them each episode, as they make up the team!
The show is set in Northern England, so British accents are preferred... but feel free to audition regardless of accent! (If I'm blown away by your audition, then I may consider rewriting the part...)

FERU is a clandestine operation, investigating a series of unexplained incidents in the area. Eleven months ago, a power surge compromised the server facility of a movie streaming service. A group we named The Inciters extracted the data in seconds.
(THE WHISPER) ...I know exactly where we are...
(BITTER) You take the form of some shitty little film from the seventies and think it’s okay to harass the residents of this house?

(STRESSED) Wh- Yes! Yes, Every Catholic diocese has an exorcist, but I can't pretend to know how to do it. If it has to be done, it has to be done correctly. I am not your guy. But I do have contacts, I-

I swear to God, the Sixth Sense was a happy accident! (EMPHASIS) Swear to God! (NORMAL) There's the makings of a decent film in there somewhere, he just never finds it. He's too busy making every bad decision imaginable, whether that's a writing decision, a direction-
How painfully cliche and unoriginal. I'd rate this three stars and the writer would be grateful for them. (YELLS) It’s so not kino!
They’re skimming their catalogue, looking for Ouija board scenes, and landing on the same words: “get out.” (PAUSE) Or it could be more simple than that. We could be moving it ourselves. (BEAT) We know the cliches...
