Project Overview
Myself and many other people found the new BF dub to be incredibly lackluster. The casting team put little to no effort in hiring the right people to represent such an incredible story, so I've decided to take matters into my own hands. This won't be a hiring based off convenience, fame, or even professional background. This is a passion project.
PLEASE READ: While not required, it would be preferable if the VA's applying knew of banana fish and how to best accurately represent their character.
Voice Actor
Lead role. (It's important to know Ash was loosely based off of the late River Phoenix.)
Ash, 17 years old at the beginning of the series, is originally from Cape Cod, MA before he ran away for NYC. Northeastern/New England/Faint New Yorker accents wildly favored for the position. He has a highly adaptable tone of voice/speaking in consideration of his surroundings and/or who he is speaking to. This role requires range of voice, yelling, and a lot of water. He's got plenty of lines! Also, Ash is highly intelligent and calculates his words carefully. If there are any other lines you'd like to provide, feel free to include some freestyle takes below.
Please watch a few videos online of his scenes in the show/books. Ash, alongside Eiji, are the heart and soul of the entire story.

!! Japanese accent or similar is a MUST!!
Eiji will be a difficult role to fill, but it's crucial that the talent is able to bring his character to life and immerse the audience with his cultural background.
Born in Izumo, Japan- Eiji is 19 years old. Although older than Ash, he sounds innocent and slightly younger in comparison. His voice should sound gentle, rhythmic, and entirely free of the harshness, gravel, or cynicism found in the New York street characters.
!!IMPORTANT!! His voice needs to sound authentic to a young man who is hesitant but trying his best to communicate in a foreign country. His English is not very great but as the story progresses it becomes clear that he has improved. This role requires the ability to portray vulnerability and genuine warmth without sounding overly childish or weak. He speaks in broken English (manga accurate). Please perform Eiji with the grammar provided. We are looking for an actor who can portray imperfect, cautious English with a natural Japanese accent. Focus on a gentle, slightly hesitant pace rather than an exaggerated cartoon accent.
