Project Overview
Hello everyone! I've recently finished watching the anime called "No Game, No Life" and I loved it so much that I feel compelled to make a fan dub of it.
The premise is simple. The two main characters are Shiro and Sora, a brother/sister duo who specialize in games. They are the best of the best in any and all types of games. Together they are known as Blank.
One day, the two receive a mysterious email. Asking if they feel as if they are living in the wrong world. When they reply to this email, they're challenged to an online game of chess. They win the game, and are transported to a strange and mystical world where everything is settled through various games. This world is ruled by the god of games, Tet. The duo set out to conquer this world of games, and eventually challenge the God of games himself. Along the way they meet awesome new friends, and make powerful new enemies!
I hope to dub the entire first season of the show, so if you audition make sure you are committed.
There are around 11 main roles, and a decent amount of roles for minor characters and extras, which I'll make a separate casting call for later.
When auditioning, try to keep background noise to a minimum.
Also, while I would really prefer you stay close to the characters personality, if you can put your own spin on it and make it work then by all means do so!
I'd also kind of prefer if the cast has actually seen the show. If you haven't at least try and look up some clips or perhaps watch an episode or two. But it's not absolutely necessary.

Age: Young adult - Middle age
Range: Medium
Miko has a small role in season one, but will be larger in the next season.
She is the leader of the Eastern Federation, and is in charge of Ino. She seems quite devious at first, but eventually allies herself with Elkia.
They really are a fun bunch. It's fun to think that there are still Imanity willing to challenge us. But they're the only ones who should have fun. You have but one job, understand, Izuna?
Truly... Who could have guessed you'd use your spy to make contact with the Elves, and expose the nature of our game to ensure we couldn't win? But... I expected that.
Are you really going to make me say it? Meanie. We both win!
Age: Young Adult
Range: Medium high
Fi is an elf who serves Kurami. She uses her magic to help her cheat at games. But she has no true allegiance to her fellow elves, and when Kurami joins Sora and Shiro she readilly joins them too.
*giggles* You're trying to pretend you didn't notice, but your ears moved when you sensed my magic.
I'm back Kurami! Do you want imformation? Food? Or... me?
You and I are different. If I make a mistake, you're there. Actually, I want you there by my side, always. So I don't make a foolish mistake or lose the person I care about.
Age: Middle age - senior
Range: Medium low
Ino is the grandfather of Izuna, and the designated representative of the Eastern Federation. He is a gruff, secretive old man.
Sora, I would appreciate it if you would follow the proper procedures to make an appointment next time. Following the incident, there are a number of warbeasts harboring extreme animosity towards Elkia.
[Enraged]
If you want me to roll you up in a carpet and throw you out, then just say so you damn monkey!
[To himself]
So they did know this game more than we do. But... No matter what little tricks they have, there's no way they can win!
Age: Child - Teen
Range: High
Izuna is the grand daughter of Ino. She is chosen to represent the Eastern Federation and compete in a game against Blank. She is very young and naive, and from a young age has been trained to compete in games. But even though she plays games all the time, she's never had fun. When she's in a game, she becomes very serious and tactical. In the game against Blank, she learns to have fun playing games for the first time.
By the way, if the audition confuses you a little, she puts please at the end of her sentences because she's learning English and thinks that makes her sound more polite.
[Sora and Shiro see her, and rush over and start petting her ears and tail]
Why the hell are you touching me, asshole? Please.
[Sora and Shiro stop and run back]
Why the hell did you stop? Please. I was just surprised you assholes touched me out of nowhere. Please. Get back to it already. Please.
Why are you having fun, please? If you lose, many people will be unhappy, so you have to win! But if you win, your opponent...
Of course I've never thought it was fun.
[She's lost the game, and is about to cry]
That's impossible, so many people are going to suffer because I lost.
Why? Why did I smile? Because I did, the Eastern Federation will be taken over, and so many people will...
It's all my fault for having fun!

Shiro is Sora's younger adoptive sister. Together the two of them are an unstoppable gaming duo. Shiro is typically very quiet and soft spoken. She's the less outgoing part of the two, and rarely leaves her brother's side. While her older brother is good at reading people, Shiro excells at logic and calculations.
You really are empty.
[She's just learned her brother's plan for her to win a game in his place]
It's simple. Brother told me the two of us are one. I'm participating in this game. That's why I still had my memories...
[Crying]
No! No! He was with me, he was always with me!
Age: Young Adult
Range: Medium high
Kurami is a human who allied herself with the Elves to try to become the new Queen of Elkia. She's thwarted by Blank, and ends up eventually becoming an ally. She's quite harsh on the outside, but when things get too much for her she breaks down and cries.
[Demeaning]
You couldn't beat me, so now you send your servant instead? This is a coronation, not a playground.
[Concerned]
Fi, this man said he would bet humanity's piece. We can't simply ignore that.
[She's trying to covertly aid Blank in a game]
Fi, it doesn't look like we can interfere with the game from here. This means the Eastern Federation can't use any obvious cheats. Let's see what you can do, Sora.
Age: Teen - Young Adult
Range: Medium high
Sora has a cool and collected demeanor. He's always very confident in himself, sometimes to the point of arrogance. However his arrogance is not unfounded. He is a genius and is a master of reading his opponents and determining their next move before they make it. He's the kind of person who's always 10 steps ahead of the enemy at any time. Along with his sister, he is a gaming master and half of Blank.
Just letting you know now, he probably has the most lines of any character. And they're quite wordy and intelectual typically.
[Explaining to Stephanie]
There is no such thing as luck in this world. Rules, prerequisites, psychological states... There are any number of invisible factors that combine to produce an unpredictable, but inevitable result. The winner of each game is decided before it even begins. Chance is never a factor.
[Thinking deeply]
Usually, in a story, when the protagonists end up in another world, they try their best to find a way home, right? Why would they try to go back to a world like that?
[Completely shocked]
I-I don't think this is possible, but Steph... are you actually... NOT an idiot?
Age: Middle age - Senior
Range: Medium low
The former king of Elkia, and Stephanie's grandfather. He dies a while before the show began. He appears in flashbacks.
He's a wise and caring old man, who foolishly lost most of Elkia's land before he passed away. His will stated that a gambling tournament be held after his death to determine the new king.
It's the key to where I keep something very important. This is a key of hope. Someday I'll give this to you. Someday, when you meet someone you can truly trust Elkia's fate with, give it to them.
Age: Young Adult

Jibril is a Flugel, a powerful angelic race. She's very powerful, and actually quite intelligent. She helps the group out by using her magical abilities.
[Confidently]
You're powerless humans, so enjoy yourselves and try not to die. ... You can't directly cause a player to die, that is, to be unable to continue.
I teleported us! I can go anywhere in my field of vision, or anywhere I've been once.

Range: Medium High
Stephanie is the grand daughter of the late king of Elkia. She is quite knowledgable, but lacks the intuition to win games on her own. She has a quite bubbly happy personality, but can be serious and angry when she wants to. She ends up being Sora's girlfriend and assistant.
[Screaming crazily and pounding her face and fists into a wall]
No! This isn't right! Falling in love isn't supposed to be a permanent thing!
[She's playing a game of rock paper scisors against Sora, and thinking to herself]
Heh, he may think I fell for his trap, but while these rules appear to give me an advantage, there's actually a one in three chance of a draw. In other words, he wants a draw so he can get a place to stay!
[Crazed because she's under a love spell]
Love doesn't need rules! Even if I don't know them, our love is eternal!
Age: Teen
Range: High
Tet is a boy, yet is quite androgenous. So guys and girls can audition.
Tet is the god of games. He is the god and ruler of the realm that Shiro and Sora are transported to. He is very happy go lucky, and loves when everyone has fun and plays fair.
You were definitely born in the wrong world. So I'll let you be reborn, in the world you should have been born in! Welcome to my world!!! Everything in this world is decided by simple games. People's lives... even national borders!
In this world, everything is decided by ten pledges.
One: All murder, war, and robbery is forbidden in this world.
Two: All conflict in this world will be resolved through games.
Three: In games, each player will bet something that they agree is of equal value.
Four: As long as it doesn't go against number three, what they bet and the rules of the game will not be questioned.
Five: The challenged party has the right to decide the rules of the game.
Six: Any bets made in accordance with the pledges must be upheld.
Seven: Conflicts between groups will be conducted by designated representatives with absolute authority.
Eight: Being caught cheating during a game is grounds for an instant loss.
Nine: In the name of God, the previous rules may never be changed.
And ten: Let's all have fun and play together!
