Project Overview
What is Fallout The Frontier?
Fallout: The New Frontier is a rework of Fallout: The Frontier, a released, Fallout New Vegas New Lands Expansion Mod. It is a new adventure centered around a conflict between the NCR Exiles, the Northern Legion, and the Crusaders in the snow-blasted remains of Portland Oregon. Featuring 2 major questlines, 60+ side quests, hundreds of new armors, weapons and items, and tens of thousands of lines of new voiced dialogue!

Following feedback, we are in the process of reworking the mod, from story adjustments to new quests and settlements. With fundamental changes and additions to the mod, such as the main quest content available, new voice acting will be needed. Some of which will be regarding completely new characters, while others will involve characters who appeared in Legacy whose VAs we are no longer in contact with.
Requirements for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We are currently looking for 18 years of age or older voice actresses and actors with at least a standalone mic (XLR mic preferred, no headset mics), a fair amount of voice acting or real-life acting experience (ideally a demo reel), with proper sound proofing.
Instructions for Auditioning Voice Actors:
We request that all VAs who are interested are also able to communicate and send/receive files through Discord servers and DMs. On Discord, you will be communicating with me (@ACTIONFIGHTER11#2791), SirDanteFettman (dantefettman), and TGSpy (helianwin) via DMs or the Frontier VA Server's public chat. If you are cast, you will receive your lines through discord along with recording instructions, deadline, accent specifications, character bios, and line directions.
If lines are not received in time and the team and I fail to get in touch with you after repeated messages, we will have to look into recasting. If you are cast and have any complications, please notify me via Discord DMs as soon as possible.
Non-human characters that require significant audio effects or modulation will have a special tag in their name. Pre - Existing Fallout Franchise Characters that require voice actors who can impersonate the original voice files from the Fallout games they appear in will have a (Needs Impersonator) tag next to their name. Non-human characters include ghouls, robots, and super mutants. Any filters involved like gas masks or power armor helmets will not need to be done by voice actors or be added to the audition files. We mention them just as a reference for your own convenience. Unless we specify a specific accent, all characters, no matter what species, are to have the regular North American accent.
Additionally, some finer details of the rework writing is still in flux, which means certain characters from those parts of development may receive more lines to record after the initial script sending.
You should record all 3 audition lines included for each character. For each audition line, submit only one take. Be sure to follow the scene context and line instructions provided for the audition line. You should be recording through an audio recording software like Audacity or Adobe Audition. You should export and submit your audition as a .wav file (48 khz, 16 bit rate, mono). You do not need to limit yourself in the number of characters you audition for. In some cases, we go ahead and cast a voice actor for more than one role, if we can ensure each character sounds different enough from each other.
Once the deadline date is reached for a certain batch of characters, we will no longer accept more auditions for the specified roles within that batch. Over the next week or so, we will go over the submitted auditions and cast our characters.
CCC will automatically send you a message if you get cast. Additionally, we will send a private message to your CCC profile containing information on how to join a discord server where voice acting for the Frontier is managed. If there are any complications preventing that, please respond to our private message as soon as possible and we will work out solutions with you.

Jimmy is a pre-war ghoul from Pennsylvania, before the war he did a spectrum of odd jobs he was not particularly good at until he signed up for the army. There he was able to do one thing he was damn good at - standing and guarding a boarder. He left the military before the war, which left him stranded in the midwest. After wandering around for nearly 200 years, he attached himself to a couple of young bucks by the name of Adolin and Sketch. They have wandered around since then for a few years.
When the player finds Jimmy, he is currently awaiting a dispute against him for the damages to a bar caused by a bar fight at the Inn & Out that left a man dead at his hands. He was found to have acted in self defense for the killing, but the damages to the bar needs someone to pay, so the owner Scott Killian has made a dispute against him.
The player can later decide if Jimmy is responsible for the damages or not in a trial held in the center of town. Depending on how the trial is decided, Jimmy will save Buck (owner of Jerky in Sandlot) from certain death or bolt from the town to never be seen again.

Adolin comes from a community in Idaho that emerged from a Vault with an experiment on using feudalism being the only form of governance with all works of art post 1600 being ejected from the Vault. Because of his upbringing, Adolin speaks Early Modern English.
When the player finds Adolin, he is on a journey of honor to prove that he can accomplish great deeds on his own and to return and become King of Idaho. He has recruited both Sketch and Jimmy to accompany him as his servants. He later sits in on Jimmy's dispute to provide witness to Jimmy's side of events.

A middle aged man from around the Oklahoma wasteland, he's an experienced hunter who found himself the servant of Adolin after encountering him while travelling. Now Sketch, Adolin, and Jimmy have been travelling together for the last few years. He also had a beloved pet Gecko named Bitey that died from the cold in the Frontier.
When the player encounters him, he is waiting with Adolin and Jimmy for the dispute against Jimmy to finally happen. He isn't in a mood to talk, but if the player pesters him enough, he'll eventually relent and talk. He later acts as witness to Jimmy at his dispute.

Scott Killian is the local owner of the Inn & Out, the inn and bar in the middle of Sandlot. While he puts on a friendly face, he is shyster through and through and looks for any angle to extract caps from a situation. He is known to start disputes (equivalent to a civil suit) in Sandlot for any damages to his bar, and is currently waiting to be heard on a dispute he has against Jimmy the Ghoul. The player can hear his side of the dispute and side with him if they so choose.
While very unscrupulous, his interests do align with the benefit of all scavs and disapproves of the Legion in running Sandlot. Mainly for their laws that cut into his profits from watered down alcohol and cheap drugs, which he can no longer serve. Now all he has is the ambiance of the Inn & Out and overpriced rooms.

Aleksey is a slave to Scott Killian who owns the Inn & Out, the local bar and inn, where he runs and cleans the bar. Like many scavs, he can't afford living on his own and must sell himself out via a "slave contract" (a once informal living situation for most scavs, but now a more formal matter within Sandlot). While he's far from the most worst off slave to ever live, he's living quite destitute under his Killian as his master and working long hours.
Recently, he was caught up in the middle of a bar fight that left him near dead until he was saved by Jimmy the Ghoul. For the same bar fight, Killian uses Aleksey to lie about what happened during that bar fight to accuse Jimmy of purposefully damaging his bar.

{Explaining why you're a slave}They don't, or can't, own anything, they're not apart of some tribe, or they just hit hard times. Any number of reasons, people have been enslaving themselves in the Frontier to just get by.

Warsteiner is an original super mutant from the Master's army. Even back then, he was odd for having an obsession with probabilities that made little sense to his comrades. After the Master's death, he moved north and became a prize fighter along the way, something that gave him great joy in calculating his win probability and then beating anything to a pulp that stood in his way. He is otherwise a gentle giant and only fights when the other party wishes to do the same.
By the time he is encountered by the player, he has been framed by gambler who lost big on Warsteiner by pinning the killing of livestock on him. Warsteiner does not understand his arrest and thinks he's being led to a fight soon, completely unaware that his life is in-danger.
The player will ultimately decide Warsteiner's fate in his trial, but he is accompanied by the Mister Handy advocate Reginald, Esq. who has a hard time parsing Warsteiner's rambling.
Warsteiner also has combat lines when the player accepts his request to fight.

Reginald, Esq. is an old Mister Handy that was designed to take the role of a public defender pre-war. However, he sat in a closet turned off for nearly 200 years before being discovered by scavengers. He was bought by the city of Sandlot to perform duties as an Advocate (essentially a free public defender) for mutants and others that can't defend themselves fully.

Li Inda is a member of the Defenders of Shanghai staying in Sandlot where she sells drugs to fund supplies for the Defenders. While she is excellent at keeping her dealings on the low, but she is currently under threat of arrest by the Legion because someone has reported her being a dealer. She knows this because of a sympathetic source in Sandlot has told her so, but doesn't know who.
When the player finds her, she wants the player to interrogate her clients to find out who was the snitch and report back to her.
Mainly speaks English with some Defender Chinese slang. Third line in audition uses Chou, Chinese for clown.

Verdigris, simply called Verdi by those close to her, is a Riveter working in Sandlot. She's a talented repairwoman making way up the Riveters ladder, soon to be a leader in her area of work. However, her personal life is a wreck as her girlfriend Susanna is cheating on her causing her serious stress in trying to end the relationship.
Later on, after the player has met her, Verdigris is murdered by her girlfriend after attempting to break up with her. Her murder is pinned on a local Legionary by Susanna, which causes a political incident within Sandlot as the Legion until now has been outside of the law of Sandlot.

Cale "The Horror" Horowitz is a member of the Frozen 41st who guards the US Army Surplus. He is also a meathead who has done every performance enhancing substance he could get his hands on to bulk up, which has stricken him with acromegaly. Despite his failing health and sanity, and even the Legion's ban on chems in Sandlot, he still seeks out anything that will help with packing on more muscle.
This obsession to build muscle led him to Doc Staples who prescribed him a testosterone based steroid of her own design with clear instructions on how to use it and to NOT use it with any other substance. However, Horowitz did not listen and caused himself to develop jaundice and a shrinkage of his genitals. Because of this, he brought a dispute against her seeking reparations for the damage.

Stavros is a local scav who comes across the player after their near death experience entering the Frontier and saves them. Before the player leaves, he also warns them of the territory of the gangs they're entering and gives them a lead on where to find the person who enslaved them.
