[Backup] Animator Position Opened!
I am opening up the animator position once again. We do have a main animator, but we are looking for another backup animator to (possibly) help out or just in case our lead animator drops out.

Project Overview
Hi there!
My name is Wendy. I'm an aspiring actress and a writer. Currently, I'm working to turn my script into a 2D animated short film. It's titled Evie's Not So Scary First Day of High School. There will be more information about that later on in this post though. So, basically what I am looking for is to gather a team to help me do this since I am by no means an animator or an artist.
If you would like to join this team, please audition by providing a portfolio or samples to some of your work. Also, please do not be upset if I deny your application as I'm really hoping to make this a good quality film.
Casting for characters will be put up after artists are cast.
This will be a long-term project which is why I am hoping to get multiple of people in each of these sections to make the workload easier. Production will begin once the most essential part of the crew is chosen (animators, story boarders, etc.). Production is currently beginning. Voice actors will be cast once animation begins. I am working to get this picked up by an animation web studio.

Evie's Not So Scary First Day of High School [A Synopsis]
I’ve altered the script from what I originally planned but here is the new synopsis:
14-year-old Evie Ramirez has a history of being terrified of first school days. The big milestone of entering High School is no exception. Her father used to read her his favorite fantasy novel on the night of her first school day to help ease her nerves. Ever since he passed away, Evie keeps the tradition alive and continues to read it every night before the first day of school. She wishes to be just like the characters in her favorite book, especially the Elven Queen Alaina. Her wishes come true the night before her first day of High School while she dreams. Join Evie as she is visited by her favorite character and a very familiar special guest who help her understand that maybe the first day of high school isn’t so scary.
The Inspiration Behind This Film
Well, it’s… me. Ever since I first entered school, I had the toughest time with first days. Literally… no joke. All the time, 2 weeks before the first day of school I would always research into online school and then I would proceed to watch my favorite movies The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Crazy, huh? Yeah, although I haven’t fully conquered my fear of first school days, I would say I no longer look into online schools which is a big step. My brother has always been a big source of inspiration and love for me which is why he is the inspiration behind the father. So, this is where the idea for this film came about. I figured… I can’t be the only one who’s terrified of first school days—and life in general, right? My goal is to inspire children, teens, and everyone in between.
So, that is all. I've laid out all my cards on the table. But I can't do this alone. I'm hoping you'll join me on this new journey of making this animated film.

Updated Descriptions!
Hello! Wow, almost 60 auditions. Umm, I'm a little intimidated, haha. It's crazy seeing how so many people are willing to join me on this adventure. I'm also intimidated by all of this talent that put my sad little stick figures to shame. Anyway, enough of rambling. I'm stopping by today to let you all know that I have (finally!!) updated the descriptions for these positions. You will find more information as to what the job entails. Yay, I can feel myself becoming more professional, lol. I have also re-opened the role for animators. I will be hiring the last concept artist in the coming week. Looking through auditions!
Hey there! Just wanted to give you all a quick update. I am starting to look through the auditions. I am hoping to cast the music composer soon in order to start doing the tunes needed for the film! Character designing is in the works (concept artist may still be needed). Storyboarding is next and they will be cast a week (can be subject to change) after character design is finished. I will also be updating the descriptions to be more clear. Thank you all for the auditions (they are still open) and I’m excited to see all of your auditions!

I am looking for 1 concept artist for this film. As a concept artist, you will work with me to help create my vision for characters, outfits, backgrounds/scenery. Along with character designing, you will have to do reference and expression sheets for them (references will be provided). You must be able to do art digitally for this position. We already have a good chunk of our concept art done. The remaining characters/backgrounds left to do are:
- Evie's father
- Outside of high school [rough sketch will be provided to turn into digital drawing]
- Field for one scene [rough sketch will be provided to turn into digital drawing]
- Outside road to the high school [rough sketch will be provided to turn into digital drawing]
- Young and older Evie's room [rough sketches already in progress - only needs to be turned digital]
I'm hoping to get one more concept artist in this section in order to help complete this concept art.
All positions are paid. Unfortunately, as a college student, my budget for this film is not the best so the pay is $15 for concept artists. Payment will be made through PayPal and once artist is cast.

I am looking for 2-3 storyboard artists for my film. As a storyboard artist, you will help create the storyboards that contain the scenes for the film. I am hoping to have these in color in order to make the animation easier. You must be able to storyboard digitally. You will be provided with all the concept art needed for your section of the film and the script itself.
I'm hoping to get 2-3 in this section in order to help ease the workload for all the storyboard artists. All positions are paid. Unfortunately, my budget for this film isn't the best (college student problems, sigh). But I simply cannot have people do all this work with no pay. It will be $20 for storyboard artists. Payment will be made through PayPal and once storyboarding begins (not too far from now).

I am looking for 2-3 [backup] animators to 2D animate this film. I already have the main animators, but I decided to be safe rather than sorry and have 2-3 backup animators in case one of the main one's drop out. The position is pretty self explanatory, haha. As an animator, you will animate the film. Please have experience with animating. You will be provided with the concept art and storyboards to help you.
All positions are paid. However, as a backup animator you will not be paid unless one of the main animators back out and you are needed. Unfortunately, my budget for this film is not great so the pay will be $90-100 for animators. Please be advised that this position requires character and background animations, along with coloring.
Payment will be made through PayPal and once animation production starts.

I'm in need of a music composer for the film. As a music composer, you will be in charged of making the songs needed for the film. For the time being, I can only pay $5, but this may (or may not) increase as time goes on since payment won't be made until your part in production begins.

We'll be needing a video editor for the film. As the video editor you'll need to put the final animation, voiceovers, and music together to create the final product. This position also requires for the editor to make a trailer. Please have experience with video editing. The video editor will be cast halfway through the animation progress.
For now, the price is set to $15 but this may (or may not) increase as time goes on and I'm more aware of my post budget (aka after paying artists and the animators). Also, payment will be made through PayPal and when your part in the film production begins.

We are almost entirely done with character and scenery design. The next step is the film cover. In this case, we will need an artist who can adjust to the style of art (you will be give way to alter some to fit yours as well) in order to create the film's poster.
If you are cast for this role, you will work with me and we will pass ideas back and forth for what should be in the cover. Your ideas are as important as mine and a collaborative person will be needed as I want this project to be a product of team work. Once we come to a middle ground of what will be best to have in the cover, your main work begins which will be creating the cover.
For this position, you will need experience in drawing people (in a realistic style), detailed scenery, graphic design (for the font being used for the title), coloring, shading, and must be able to do this digitally.
Unfortunately, as this is a low budget film and the pay is not what I would love to have it as. Whoever is cast for this position will be paid $10 USD and payment will be made through paypal.
!! Although this position is open, if anyone who is already on our team is up to being the cover artist then they will take the position !!
