Rebuild of Evangelion in Unknown Minutes/Hours Casting Call
Project Overview
Welcome to the Casting Call for "Rebuild of Evangelion in ??? Minutes/Hours" aka Rebuild of Eva Abridged. This project aims to abridge the remake/reimagining movies in the "Evangelion" franchise directed by Hideaki Anno. The story like the original anime stars young 14-year-old boy Shinji Ikari as he gets called to see his father: Gendo for the first time in years as he asks him to pilot a giant mech for his private military group called "NERV". From there, lots of stuff happens-the world ends, and other stuff that I honestly do recommend watching. Now, I do have a few notes to say for this real quick.
AUDITION SPECIFICS:
#1: Have a decent microphone. It doesn't need to be a 1000$ Neuman but background noise at minimum if possible.
#2: 17 + up only. I cannot stress enough that this series has a lot of gore, blood, and some...fan servicey scenes, especially in these movies. I have tried to remove them as best I can, but a shot will be a shot and I don't have the artistic talent to modify them majorly. \
#3:Have Discord. It's the easiest source of contact, so please provide it. If you do not provide it, we will reach out. You'll also be added to a server where the scripts, deadlines, previews of WIP material are, etc.
#4: Have fun. I want to see people take these characters and expand on them. Yes, there is a script, but don't just look up what the voice sounds like and imitate it perfectly 1:1. I want original takes on these characters that go with the vision I have personally.(That vision is very very changeable for some things.)
#5: This is an extended project with a goal in mind. The goal is to get through 1.0 - 3.0+1.0 with maybe some Neon Genesis Evangelion one-shot content on the side. Never any End of Evangelion stuff though for my own personal sanity.(It's not that I don't like it, it's just really personally triggering.)
(NOTE: Most of the main characters have already been cast as they have carried over from a previous project of mine involving Eva called "Evadub an NGE Manga dub", so who's available is who's available.)

MARI DOES NOT APPEAR UNTIL 2.0-AS SUCH IF CASTED, IT WILL BE A WHILE BEFORE YOU RECORD. SCRIPT IS FINISHED HOWEVER. (She also makes a more lead appearance in 3.0 and 3.0 + 1.0)
- Mari is the Fourth Child chosen to pilot the Evangelion units. She is also one of the few Evangelion pilots excited about what she's doing, specifically in this she's excited to be directly working with the Japanese division of NERV as she is a huge Anime fan.
- Mari frequently will throw Japanese into her speak, usually as a reference to some form of anime. But it's also clear she's from the Southern parts of the United States, her true accent slipping her and there.
- Voice Notes: Mari needs to sound like an overexaggerated 2010's anime dub Fem voice. High, Over pronouncing words, Really trying to sell she's from an anime. Mispronouncing the Japanese would add to the joke, so this is one case where honestly it's even slightly encouraged.

(Sounds completely southern) Alright yall, I landed safely. Yall take care now alright? Alright. Bye.
KAJI DOES NOT APPEAR UNTIL 2.0 AS SUCH IF CASTED IT MAY BE A MINUTE BEFORE YOU RECORD.
- Kaji is the definition of the smooth ladies man. Arriving in Tokyo 3 alongside Asuka, Kaji has had a past relationship with Misato Katsuragi that ended horribly. He still thinks very fondly of her, but still uses every chance he can to tease her, Ritsuko, and even the young Shinji Ikari. He's an alcoholic just like Misato, but unlike her he actually has hobbies. Like gardening.
- Kaji takes on a bit of a mentor role in 2.0 for Shinji, showing him a new perspective on his caretaker however behind the scenes he's secretly helping SEELE, and Gendo Ikari at the same time. Something that doesn't end well for him.

(Sarcastic but also cracking a joke) Damn, really? Guess it’s too bad I’m a NERV employee huh? I was really crossing my fingers I wouldn’t have to run across Misato.
(Informing) Well…she was pretty much the same as she is now. She never exactly matured, but…that might be cuz daddy issues.
(Surprising) Gay boy says what? (Shinji would proceed to high pitch scream) Hah. I’m just trollin’ you kid. Goteem-Hey, wanna follow me real quick? I got a coffee for you.
Makoto is a First Lieutenant at NERV and one of the three main computer technicians directly serving under Commanders Ikari and Fuyutsuki in the command post of Central Dogma, the others being Aoba and Ibuki.
He is a tech nerd and a bit of a geek in the traditional sense. Often he’ll be found reading Manga on the side.
He is very intelligent when it comes to his job, however.
Voice Note: Mid, average masculine voice.

(Relieved) ….He did it. Unit 01 has shut down but the target is gone.
(Informing) Second shot is ready to go, Captain!
Maya frequently acts as Ritsuko's assistant, particularly with work on the MAGI that controls the base, and computer readouts from the Evangelion units.
She is a very sweet person and kind to everyone she interacts with. She is also quite optimistic, and hopeful.
Voice Note: High, energetic, slightly breathy.

(Slightly Nervous) Eva power plug has been cut-! We’re on operational time now, 4:53 and counting!
(Scared) High energy readings are being detected from the angel!
The last of the three NERV computer technicians. Shigeru is a pretty chill cool dude.
Although he doesn’t have much lines in this one, and therefore we don’t see it much but he is a bit of a Guitar shredder, even Air guitaring when on duty
Voice Note: Low, calm, relaxed tone.

(Calm, Informative) The dudes Vitals are stable. Recharging underway.
(Relieved) Damage is nominal, he’s good to go!
Fuyutsuki is Gendo’s right hand man. Listening to every order the man barks out.
He is on the older end of things. So he can tend to be quite wise sometimes, having a past with Gendo’s deceased wife: Yui Ikari.
Voice Note: Vocally he is the one case where I will accept a slight impression: Smithers from the Simpsons, but much older. Take that as you will.

(Slight Concern) Understood sir. But what about the people who may not have got to shelter quickly enough?
(Confused) Isn’t she hurt sir?
(Informing, Happy) Not arrived yet sir, Captain Katsuragi is out retrieving him. Are you excited to see your son for the first time in years sir?
Kensuke is one of Shinji’s three best friends he makes at school.
Kensuke is a bit of a film nut, looking to make his perfect film. No matter what
He is a bit of a nerd, but is also incredibly blunt, and a bit of a ladies man.(Even though he never gets with anyone ever)

(Judgemental) Yeah, you kind of made a big piece of debris fall on her. Major misplay my dude.
(Excited) Dude! Look at this thing, I could totally use this as inspiration for a horror film! Oh and look, the celebrity has arrived.
(Pissed, Upset, Yelling) NO! MY SHOTS!

- Hikari is the Classroom Representative of Shinji's class. While admittedly in the rebuilds she doesn't get much time on screen, usually in the shows material she's shown to be best friends with Asuka Langley Shikinami.
- Hikari is a very sweet girl who is also a bit shy, but when it comes to her job her leadership qualities come to surface.
- Voice Note: (Young, Sweet but can be Assertive and also sometimes shy.)
EXTRA NOTE: Hikari appears in the final film all grown up-therefore when we reach the Final movie you will likely be asked to come in and reprise your role as a more adult version.

(Nervous, Slightly Shy) Uhm…excuse me- Miss Asuka? May I please sit with you?
(Curious) So…how do you like the school so far?
(Angry, Assertive) What exactly are you three up to this time? You know as Class Rep it's my responsibility to keep "The three stooges" out of trouble!
- The sister of Toji Suzuhara and the medical officer of WILLE. She's kind, and optimistic despite what's been going on around her.
- She's the one person who actually cares about Shinji in WILLE, her only thing she tells him is to never pilot the Eva.
- Voice Note: Because of her family, she has the same Brooklyn accent as her brother.

(Introducing herself) Sure thing. I’m ya’ assigned medical officer, Lt. Sakura Suzuhara.
(Concerned) Ey…Uh-Mista Ikari…? You don’t gotta pee do you? Cuz this stretch aint got a bathroom for a little bit.
(Worried, Panicked) Wait-Shinji! Please for the lova god-! Do NOT pilot an Eva ever again whatever you do next-! Please…we all deserve a break…
- Midori is a WILLE command opperator. Admittedly she doesn't get a lot to do up till 3.0 + 1.0. But the most I can say is that we're giving her the typical valley girl voice. She uses like in every sentence.

(Worried) We’ve like, been hit!
(Relieved) Like all system control has been restored!
We will need people to play the other NERV workers, WILLE soldiers, Citizens, etc. This role is for anyone, and everyone so go for it!
