Project Overview

Employee06

Hey! I'm currently developing Employee06, an indie psychological horror game set in the 1990s.

The game takes place in a mysterious research facility, where what initially seems like a fairly ordinary job slowly turns into something much worse. It combines surveillance-based gameplay, narrative elements, and horror, with a focus on atmosphere, characters, and making the player feel genuinely uncomfortable.

I don't want to reveal too much about the story just yet, since a big part of the experience is discovering what's actually going on!

A little about the project and its budget:

Employee06 is an independent game that I'm developing with a very small team and funding mostly out of my own pocket. I'm currently working towards getting the game on Steam soon, and hopefully building a small community around it.

Because of that, the budget for voice acting is unfortunately pretty limited right now. I know the rates I'm offering aren't particularly high, and I completely understand if they're not what you're looking for.

However, I'm not just looking for people to record a few lines and disappear!

I'd genuinely love to find voice actors who enjoy the project and would be interested in returning as their characters if the game continues growing.

If Employee06 manages to secure funding or generate enough revenue, my intention is to put that money back into development, including better compensation for additional voice acting work.

Of course, I can't promise future contracts or funding, and every role listed here is a separate, paid opportunity with its own agreed scope. I just want to be upfront about where the project currently stands and what I'm hoping to achieve.

If you're interested in indie horror games, enjoy bringing characters to life, or simply think the project sounds interesting, I'd love to hear your audition!

Thanks for taking the time to check out Employee06. It genuinely means a lot! :)

Latest Updates

  • New role and clarifications!

Hello everyone! First of all, I would like to thank you so much for all the support, I would have never expected such a welcoming experience when I first posted the post!

I'm here to announce that a new role female role has opened for a secondary character, and to give you all some extra information and clarifications regarding the project and some questions I've received privately and publicly!

    - We are actively listening to all of the auditions but we will only make a decision on Friday, so that gives everyone a chance to apply.

    - There isn't, there won't, and there never will be any use of Gen AI in this project. This is an indie project made by three people who are just getting started in the industry, so even if we are amateurs, we are making it with much love and effort :)

    - The project is currently a demo only, and will be uploaded on Steam on the 31st of October.

    - If you're applying to any of the characters, please consider that if the game does slightly well, a full game is planned, so it is expecteed that you stay until the end of the ride! ^^

With that out of the way, thank you again everyone for applying! See you on Friday!

Vilmos is Bulgarian, he's a businessman with a serious personality, his voice should reflect a serious well spoken person, but not necessarily a high class/arrogant personality, just someone who's normal but well spoken / literate. He is around 25-30 years old.

Vilmos is just a pretty ordinary guy guy who ends up dealing with a situation that's way beyond what he signed up for. He's not some fearless horror protagonist, he's just a normal person trying to keep it together while everything around him gets progressively worse.

His voice should remain fairly composed most of the time, but as things start going wrong, that composure slowly breaks down into genuine fear, frustration, and desperation.

Since he's Bulgarian, a subtle Bulgarian accent would be welcome, but I'm much more interested in a natural, believable performance than an exaggerated or forced accent.

The game is set in 1990.

A man around 25–30 years old who has already experienced things that most people wouldn't survive. He used to be an ordinary person, but his experiences have left him much more hardened, cautious, and emotionally exhausted. Think that he's someone that would have experienced what Vilmos experienced, and is now talking to him from experience, even if they're the same age.

He's intelligent, well-spoken, and surprisingly composed considering everything he's been through. However, there's a certain weight behind the way he speaks, as if he's constantly holding back things he'd rather forget.

I'm looking for a mature-sounding young adult voice. Not necessarily deep or intimidating, but someone who can sound experienced, tired, and serious without coming across as an edgy or overly dramatic character.

He will primarily appear through telephone conversations in certain endings, so being able to convey emotion through voice alone is especially important.

  • The beginning started with me. And the ending will as well.

A young adult woman with a fairly ordinary personality. She's not a fearless action hero, but she's definitely not someone who's going to scream and cry at every little thing either.

She's intelligent, practical, and tries to remain composed even when things start getting seriously uncomfortable. She gets scared just like anyone else would, but tends to respond with frustration, disbelief, or attempts to rationalize what's happening rather than immediately falling apart.

I'm looking for a natural, believable feminine voice. Nothing overly high-pitched, exaggerated, or stereotypically helpless. I want her to sound like an actual person who has unfortunately found herself in a very unpleasant situation.

The role will initially consist of short announcements, voice messages, and optional easter eggs throughout the game, so some variety in delivery would be great!

We're looking for a female voice actor to portray the facility's public announcement system. The voice should initially sound calm, professional, and reassuring, gradually revealing a more unsettling, psychologically manipulative quality.

She should be clear, controlled, authoritative, and subtly intimidating. A bit like vintage institutional broadcasts and psychological propaganda less than exaggerated horror acting.

There is no especific accent nor age range for this role, as long as it fits the role, ideally this voice should aim to be iconic, part of the game's branding and trailers.
