EMERGENCY CASTING - Celty Sturluson for Durarara Fandub
Project Overview
Unfortunately, our current voice actress for Celty had to step down so, in order to finish the second episode, we're in desperate need of a new voice actress.
Rules:
- Have a decent mic. I’d prefer an XLR mic, but USBs will be accepted as well so long as the mic quality on them is good. Absolutely no computer or phone mics.
- Be able to meet deadlines. This project is meant to be fun for everyone, but I still expect some professionalism in being able to meet deadlines. Everyone gets 2 weeks to submit their lines for each episode.
- Be committed. Since we plan on dubbing over several of the episodes of Durarara, this is going to be a long-term project. If you know that you most likely won’t stay for the full duration of the project, then please don’t audition.
- Please provide 2-3 takes of each line.
Additional Information:
- Celty is a main character so she will have a lot of lines, especially within the second episode when she narrates. Please be prepared that you will have lots of lines in some episodes.
- This is an unpaid project. This is a project solely for fun and I’m making no profit from creating this so unfortunately, I’m unable to pay anyone. In return, though, all the voice actors for the project will be credited in the description of each video along with any links you wish to include.
- Since this is an emergency casting, I may cast someone before the actual deadline.

Celty's personality is normal, down-to-earth, more so than most of the cast despite her not being human, most likely due to the many years she spent surrounded by humans. While she generally is confident and optimistic, she also has her fair share of insecurities. mainly regarding her lack of a head. Her missing head is what brought her to Japan in the first place; she's been on an over a decade long on-going search in order to find her missing head and to regain all her lost memories. It's shown countless times throughout the show that she's determined to find her head, even if it means reverting back to her old Dullahan and breaking all the close bonds she made.
As for her voice, I'm looking for an actress with a mature sounding voice in the mid-high range. She's a strong-willed Dullahan who's centuries-old; she shouldn't sound like one of the teenagers.
Is the reality you see the only one? Or could there be others? Can you tell when everything looks the same as always?
A crack appears in your peaceful life. It throws you off guard; makes you rethink things. There’s a girl sitting in this classroom who caught a glimpse of just such a thing. She experienced it two days ago when she should have died.
For that boy, and for this girl, the world they see right now is not necessarily reality. And she found herself thinking how wonderful it would be if she could tell someone what she’d learned. That no matter what happens, the world really isn’t as bad as you think.
