Eighth Mirror Circus
Project Overview
“The Eighth Mirror Circus” will be a short 2d animated film. It will be posted on youtube under @Hourlyzusho (Clips will also be posted on TikTok/Instagram @Hourlyzusho). All credits will be given to voice actors at the end of the film and in the description. The script is completed and will be sent out after the deadline. The film will be completely animated by myself so it will take some time to complete the finished film! There is about 1/4 progress made so far on the animation.

Dr. Evelyn Morrow is a calm, distant therapist who’s learned to hide every emotion behind professionalism. Her job has made her cold and detached — a habit that’s ruined her personal life, especially her relationship with her ex, Lacey.
When her patients all share similar symptoms relating to the circus haunting them and hearing eerie music that drives them insane, Evelyn treats it like another mental case. But soon, she hears the same music herself.
Drawn to the circus, Evelyn enters a mirror maze that reflects not just her image, but the parts of herself she’s suppressed — her guilt, her control, and her fear of feeling. As the maze distorts and her reflections come alive, Evelyn realizes the circus isn’t outside her… it’s inside her mind, feeding on the emotions she’s buried.
By the end, she’s back in her office, calm and expressionless — but her reflection grins wide, revealing that the circus has taken her place.

(Lead role) Evelyn is a therapist. She has a very monotone and cold personality. She notices a pattern with her patients, all of them begin to act strange when a circus show comes around. She takes it upon herself to investigate.
As the story progresses she slowly starts loosing her composure and her calm/cold demeanor begins to crack. She tries to piece together the strange things with the circus and while remembering her mistakes with her ex partner that ended due to her absence in the relationship.

No, Mrs. Reese. I don’t. Let’s end here for today. Try to rest. Avoid overstimulation — news, crowds, loud music. And don’t go near the circus grounds. Sometimes avoidance is the best medicine.
(quiet, cold)That’s how I make sense of things. Would you rather I just, what? Ignore what I see? Pretend I don’t see that something’s wrong with you?
(panicking) Something is wrong. I need to leave. Please stop, get me out of here!
Lacey is Evelyn’s ex-partner — emotional, and open-hearted, the complete opposite of Evelyn. She wanted real connection, but Evelyn’s cold, analytical nature made her feel unseen and treated like a patient instead of a lover. Lacey represents the humanity and emotion Evelyn suppresses, which later returns to haunt her.

You treat me like one of your clients and not your partner. I can’t even tell you how I feel without you turning it into a case study.
(Interrupting. angry) Wrong with me?! Really? Evelyn, that's not up to you to decide as my partner. I want to be felt, not analyzed. It feels like any time I open my mouth you’re two steps away, taking notes in your head.
Evelyn’s anxious patient who first hears the circus music. She’s frightened and unstable, becoming the warning sign of what’s to come.

I can’t sleep! That’s all I hear, is that sound. I feel like I’m going insane, ever since-
(interrupting) It’s not excitement. You don’t understand. I was there 3 years ago, but it’s different now. I keep hearing it, doctor. It’s rattling in my brain.
A mysterious, trickster-like figure who appears in mirrors and inside the maze. Always smiling, always watching. The Jester represents the darker side of Evelyn’s mind — chaos, emotion, and madness — everything she’s tried to suppress now coming to life.

You don’t know me, but I sure do know you! Step inside— the mirrors are quite hungry tonight!
An overly ecstatic employee mid 20s who greets every guest with a loud sing-song tune. Feel free to take creative freedom in this little intro of theirs lol. (gender not decided yet, will be decided after casting)
