Dyme: A Serialized Southern Gothic Story
Project Overview
Dyme is an original Appalachian horror audio drama set in a fictional Appalachian town where old folklore, family secrets, and supernatural forces intertwine.
At the center of the story is Clara Hathsbury, a young woman searching for her mother, who disappeared seven years ago. As Clara begins uncovering the truth about her family and the town she calls home, she finds herself caught between the people she loves and something far more sinister than anyone is willing to believe.
Dyme is an ongoing, independently produced series with a planned four-season story arc and the first season already written. Adding in voice actors is an early season pivot decision. We’re dedicated to producing the best product possible, so that’s why we’re pivoting early. We're building a long-term creative project with an emphasis on immersive sound design, grounded performances, memorable characters, and atmospheric storytelling.
We're looking for actors who can bring emotional depth, are flexible as we work out the kinks of a show in its first season, individuality, and authenticity to the world of Dyme.

Voice Actor
19 going on 90, with a massive chip on her shoulder. Clara Hathsbury is our main character. She is the engine of this entire story and propels it forward. She’s young, stubborn, fierce, and is our complicated protagonist. She’s the star although she hates attention and limelight.

Voice Actor
Mid 40s, deep Southern accent.
Sheriff Columney is the de-facto leader of Dyme. Mayor Combs is around, but when things go down, the town looks to the Sheriff for guidance. He serves as the voice of reason, a gruff appearing hairy mountain of a man that is actually very emotionally intelligent. He’s a tough looking softie in all reality and loves Clara and Caroline as if they were blood daughters.

Voice Actor
Our male lead. Marks is a super serious, neurodivergent detective, who is intelligent, accomplished, and has a shadowy past. Marks serves as both Clara’s foil and a plot engine device. He seems to be everywhere Clara is. In later seasons Marks becomes integral to the plot, but he’s also vital for the events of S1.

Voice Actor
Caroline is a successful 26 year old single mother. She's confident, quiet, and always in control, until she isn't. Caroline Hathsbury is a supporting side character that appears in episode five and later ones as well. Her role becomes much more prevalent as this season progresses with a much larger arc planned for upcoming seasons.
