Dungeons and Dragons: Aubouria

Dungeons and Dragons: Aubouria

Project Overview

Welcome to Auboria, a small island in the Alsandir known as The Founding Land. Eons ago, on a day the sun shone black, a cataclysmic battle of gods caused a reality-shaking event called The Shattering. In Auboria’s geological center, a great evil was cast into the Solstice Gate, a monument to peace through divine balance and a seal between planes, never to be opened. In reverence to The Shattering, a grand festival is held all throughout Alsandir known as The Day of Umbrum. In present time, Umbrum is seen by all as one of celebration, merriment, and embracement of the odd. Children wear hand-carved masks while the populous enjoys festivities of all sorts, from great food to eerie tales of the paranormal. To most abiding in Alsandir, especially in Aubouria, the Day of Umbrum is of great cultural significance and has been honored for centuries. To some, clinging to the beliefs of ancient generations, claim Umbrum to be the source of the supernatural - cosmic anomalies and beings unknown by man spawned from outer realms. They see Umbrum as a symbol of the god’s will - a grave reminder of what evils lie beneath… a premonition of what shall befall upon the land should the Solstice Gate open once more.

This is for a few pre-bossfight animatics scattered throughout this upcoming D&D campaign. Since it will not be broadcast, this is a non-profit passion project. Please write your Discord in the description, as it is my best means of contact. If you made it this far, please make sure to say that you're sponsored by Fantasy Costco at the start of your audition so I know you have read this. Thank you!

Latest Updates

  • Submissions Closed!

Thank you everyone who auditioned! Since I have a good chunk of time to sort through auditions and do callbacks, casting, etc., I've decided to close off submissions to alleviate any pressure.

To each and every one of you, your talent astonishes me. Regardless of the outcome I hope you guys find great success with your voices! It means a lot to know that you guys are so invested in helping me elevate a D&D campaign just to make my friends' experience extra memorable. Aubouria Ho!

  • IT BEGINS!

Session One is complete, the Aubouria Campaign has begun! I want to start by giving a MASSIVE thanks to each and every one of you for your time and efforts to help make this silly little passion project possible. I didn't expect anything near the amount of people interested! A few notes on what's to come:

The following roles will be closed for callbacks starting today for the sake of making the casting pick easier:

    Ka'Voros the Forsaken One

    Sornzyr Auvreyett

    Oneox

I will contact you through Discord if you've been chosen for said callbacks. Again, thank you so much for the auditions! You guys do not make this easy at all, you're all so talented!

Lastly, if you end up obtaining a role, I'll do my best to accommodate your efforts through means such as voice work of my own, art, etc. I genuinely wish I had the funds to pay you directly, but since I'm between college and career, money is a bit tight. I understand completely if this deters you from continuing with this project.

With that, adventure ho! The Heroes of Aubouria have begun their first steps! And remember...

    ...Ka'Voros Shall Rule All.

  • Callbacks Start Tuesday!

The following roles will close at midnight tomorrow:

    • Gerasmus the Wizard

    • Sornzyr Auvteyett

Once they do, I will reach out to those I wish to hear more from for Callbacks via Discord. Thanks to everyone who has auditioned so far, I wish I could comment on all of your entries but don't have the time. I'm blown away to say the least!

  • Amazing Day 1!

Hey all, thank you so much for your auditions! I've still yet to listen to them all but I can already tell, choosing only one of you is going to be SUPER hard. A few changes I've made:

Deadlines for Gerasmus the Great and Sornzyr Auvreyett will be changed to August 29th. This is because I'm hoping to get an ominous conversation between the two as an opening to Session One on the 30th. Should be fun!

Ka'Voros may have two separate voice actors between his human and monster form. I understand how difficult the latter can be so I don't want to pressure anyone out of doing it just because of that! It's easy to forget that after voicing monsters myself for 3 years, haha-

Lastly, more roles are to be opened as the campaign progresses. Like in any D&D game, nothing is ever set in stone, so even if you don't make the 3 Big Bad Bosses, I'll be sure to reach out if I think a role would fit you!

Again, thank you all so much for your interest in contributing. I hope you're having as much fun with this as I am!

    All the best,
    KGBepis

Role assigned to: Shade

An eldritch serpent god capable of the end of all, one so feared that even the gods dare not speak his name. Ka'Voros has two forms: A human form and his true form. While his human form sounds warm, smooth, and eerily comforting, the voice of his true form is vile, monstrous, and full of spite.

NOTES: [Kah-vor-ohs] This role will be the most involved. Going in, be prepared to do some throat-shredding yells. Hopefully I will be able to compensate when the time comes!

  • (Human form, calm) Are you at last free of your blindness to see that this world... the very cosmos... is but a writhing serpent that feeds upon itself, doomed to perpetuate suffering unless cleansed by total obliteration?

  • (Human form, starts calm but gets gradually aggressive) Acts of gods are inherently pure, while mortal endeavors will inevitably become wicked... corrupted and marred by sin.

  • (True form, enraged, monstrous, guttural) Mortals... SINNERS... YOU WILL BE EXPUNGED!

  • (Cold, Ritualistic, Preaching) Order Creates Chaos and Chaos Spawns Order. That is the will of the Eternal Paradox. Ka'Voros Shall Rule All.

  • (Cunning, Cordial) I carry no arms, we need not be adversaries! You have what I need, and I have what you want. Shall we discuss?

  • (Angered, but Composed) The time for reasoning has long ended. I have been more than gracious with you fools, but I see now that the only way to truly speak to you... is through pain. You brought this upon yourselves.

Lady Lyfiel Sandoval is a cunning sorceress who offered herself to Ka'Voros in exchange for being rid of her curse of recurring nightmares. Role assigned to: Panzerjess

Oneox is the Jarl of the industry town of Schmied, set in the volcanic region of Fyrbak. Unbeknonwst to the world, Oneox rules a settlement run by slavery. As a member of the Engi, a race of artificial souls powering mechanical bodies, Oneox sees no qualms in overworking people "incapable of suffering". Overly practical and with no sense of empathy, Oneox secretly serves as the industrial insider and executioner for the Assembly of the Serpents Hand, keen on making a functional world without weakness through the might of Ka'Voros. His voice should be cold, calculated, eerily unmoving, but not too robotic, if that makes sense. Look to Crosshair from The Bad Batch if ideas are needed. German accent preferred, but not required.

  • (Heartless) A worthless observation. What you call "slaves" are fully mechanical beings. Incapable of suffering. Incapable of tire. Optimal for production.

  • (Threatening) And where do you think YOU'RE going?

The misunderstood anti-hero of one of the campaign's arcs, Lysander is an underground bot-fighter who stands as a "people's hero". Despite his lineage to Kyran, the Lord of Elrocca, Lysander wants nothing to do with nobility or politics.

  • I hide because I have to. If people knew I was the son of Kyran (kai-ran), I'd just be a hero by nepotism.

  • White mask? Serpent's Hand? You're talking nonsense, I have nothing to do with any of this!

  • You know this is wrong. Fighting me will only result in one of us dead. You're better than that, I know you are.

Kyran is the cunning Lord of Elrocca (el-rock-ah), a small settlement in the Canyonlands. Despite what he tells the people, he keeps the rich richer and the poor stuck in the dirt. He'll lie, cheat, and bargain his way into assuring that the people's morale is at it's lowest in order to prime the world for his master's arrival.
