Drifter (Working title)
Project Overview
PRODUCTION:
This project will be a sprite animation series. I will be using various sprites from different games, but mainly from the Mega Man series. The characters and the plot are of my creation. The setting is that similar to the Wild Arms and Trigun franchises in the sense that they have this western sci-fi feel to it. Keep in mind I am also working a full length movie so until that is complete production on this will not be as fast as one would normally expect and that is not including my real life duties as a teacher, football coach, and keeping the gf happy (lol).
WHEN SUBMITTING AN AUDITION:
Before submitting I recommend you read the character bios I provide thoroughly so you may craft a voice that you feel fits. I am going into this casting process with an open mind and without voice preferences as I want the potential actors to make the characters their own. I want you to craft this character and mold it in a way that you feel is organic instead of just trying to mimic some voice actor I provided. Also if you are cast in a role you will be expected to be part of the project for a while. I fully expect to hear some great things :). I apologize if the dialogue comes off clunky or anything. It is important to note these lines are place holder lines created just for this call.
SYNOPSIS:
For the last 400 years the world has withered away becoming a harsh wasteland filled with outlaws, people fighting to survive, and frontier heroes. The reasons for the decay are not known, but a young academic by the name Ashlyn and her grandfather, Gerald, travel the world in search of the fabled "Life Stone" believing it is the answer to restoring this decaying world to a flourishing state. Along their travels they meet Kellen Flintlock, a young drifter with a mysterious past. Together they travel the wasteland in search of answers.

Bio: A young academic who was raised by her grandfather from a young age due to an accident that killed her parents. She is extremely intelligent, driven, and caring. She is always looking for ways to use her abilities to help those around her. Though she is thoughtful of others she is not naive. She travels the world with Gerald in search of the "Life Stone" as they firmly believe it is the key to a flourishing world. She is adequate with a handgun but prefers not to use it unless there is no other option.

That doesnt make sense. Is what youre describing really a hero? It doesnt sound like one. Sure, some horrible things are happening in the world. But does that mean the hero has to do something about it? Is a hero just someone who is sacrificed for others who cant solve their own problems? By naming you their hero does everyone else shirk their own duties and just stop trying? If a hero is just a euphemism for sacrifice, then no. Im not happy about it at all. Especially when the hero is someone I care for - In response to Kellen's description of what a hero is. (Yes I ripped this from WA 2 lol)
Th-th-the "Life Stone"?!?! You've had it this entire time?! Why the hell didn't you tell me?! - when she discovers that the mysterious stone Kellen carries with him is the "Life Stone".
Bio: A young boy who witnesses Kellen in a fight. He becomes enamored with Kellen and decides to run away from the orphanage to follow Kellen. He looks up to Kellen and Roy as heroes that he wants to one day be similar to. For a young lad he has a surprisingly good grasp on how the world around him works. That said he is still young and somewhat naive.
Wait! You mean THE Roy Maxwell is in town?! THE ROY MAXWELL?! - in response to hearing that one of his heroes is in town.
That was soooooooooo cool! - After watching Kellen fight
I know I'm young....and I may be naive for thinking this way, but why do people have to be selfish? Why do they have to harm those who cannot fight for themselves? It just doesn't make sense to me and when I am strong enough to protect people I will. Just like Kellen and Roy. - While having a conversation with a girl his age he met during the group's travels.
Bio: The CEO of the largest railroad company in the world. She is a ruthless and masterful in the business setting. She never seems to let things get her down as she is always keeping her eyes forward. She is an expert with machinery and long range rifles. She gets extremely excited any time she has the opportunity to work on machinery. She loves to gamble and has been told many times that it will be her company's downfall. She joins the group out of boredom.
How about a little wager? That can that's 500 yards away. No scope. If I hit I get that Stone you're carrying. If I miss. You get the rights to the Paramount Railway. - To Kellen when they first meet because she wants to add the stone to her collection.
God damn it! These bastards just keep coming! - Surrounded by monsters and getting low on ammo
If you were smart you'd just tell him how you feel young lady. Nothing more pointless than harboring feelings. Just makes every situation awkward for everyone else around. -Telling Ashlyn to tell someone how she feels. Should sound slightly annoyed as she hates awkward situations.
Bio: The leading scientist of "The Society". He is cunning and very intelligent. It is said his IQ is the highest ever recorded. Although they considered him innately brilliant the rest of the academic world looked down upon him for his unethical research practices. He is constantly scheming and very well intends to be at the top of "The Society" one day soon.
Its not uncommon for a dog to bite the hand that feeds it. - In response to Boss questioning Cole's motives
Ha Ha Ha! I've done it! I've actually done it! I've located the fountain of Mana! Soon all of the knowledge and power this world has to offer will be mine! - after finding the location of the machine that works with the stone
Bio: A well known researcher who travels the world with his granddaughter in search of the "Life Stone". He is the founder of the "Life Stone Theory" that drives their journey. He has raised Ashlyn from a very young age. His appearance may make many underestimate him he is very resourceful and doesn't tolerate non-sense from ruffians. He is adept with firearms and his voice doesn't seem to fit his slender frame.
The "Life Stone Theory" is a theory that the world's decay is tied to an object called the "Life Stone" Y'see long ago when this planet was covered with blue rivers and green trees people feared it would not last. To combat this fear they channeled all the mana in the world into this stone.......but somewhere along the line the stone was lost and the world began to decay. -In response to a question of what the theory is.
No it's not crazy! This theory was conceived from years of researching ancient text! - In response to Kellen calling his theory crazy
It seems we have found ourselves in quite the situation. This should be fun. - Attempting to add levity to a situation where the group is greatly outnumbered by the enemy.
Bio: He was once a well known doctor that was viewed as one of the best in the world. After watching his wife and infant son die to illness he wrote off medicine as a career. He carries around a pendant with their picture in it. He joined "The Society" after they promised him a way to get his family back. He was once a well-mannered man, but now is brash and reckless and that translate into his behavior on the battlefield. He gives little thought to his surroundings and fights with reckless abandon. He is armed with a large cannon, that he constructed himself, that lays waste to his enemies.
Dr. Uhl? I haven't been called that for very long time Professor Lane. I go by a new name these days.....Dr. Death. -in response to Gerald recognizing him and calling him Dr. Uhl.
I've waited 15 years to have my family in my arms again and I simply cannot wait another day. I will kill you and take the stone from your cold hands, revive you, and then I will kill you again.....and again....and again for making me wait longer. - In response to Kellen's refusal in giving up the stone.
I-I'm sorry Alicia......I'm sorry Duke. I have failed you both. My hands are too stained with blood I won't be joining you. There is a spot in hell reserved just for me. - Emotional about not being able to revive his family.
Age: 30
Bio: The brother and right hand man of Boss. He may be the most gifted fighter of the group. He is not as extreme as his fellow members, but still firmly believes in the principles of the group. He will not take or command someone to take a life unless taking that life drives the world towards what he deems as progress. He is very intelligent and suspects that there are traitors among the group.
That is where I differ from my comrades. I will not take a life unless that life is needed to drive the world forward and because of this every person I have killed's name is etched into my memory. Never forgotten as their death served a purpose. - Telling Ashlyn the different between him and the rest of "The Society"
Brother.....I ask you to take caution in who you place your with. - Telling Boss that a traitor may be among them
Age: 32
Bio: One of the bigger named outlaws in the world. He is intelligent and charismatic which causes him to have a very loyal following. He has had multiple run-ins with Roy. Neither has been able to best the other when locked into a fight with each other. Over the years this rivalry has grown more personal. Roy always views him as the bounty that got away.
Pick one Roy. Me, the bounty of a lifetime, or the city this train will destroy in 5 minutes. Better make it fast old friend. Clock is ticking. - During a fight with Roy on a train and telling him to pick him or the city."

Bio: A bounty hunter who is feared by even the most dangerous outlaws. He can come off cold, but is very caring towards the less fortunate. Especially children. He is considered one of the more popular figures on frontier as he is viewed as a hero. He is very analytical and is always aware of his surroundings while calculating his next move. He weapon is a hand fitted cannon that leaves those who have the misfortune of seeing it used in awe.
I wouldn't touch that gun if I were you. You're worth plenty dead. - threatening one of his bounties to not draw his weapon after knocking the man to the ground.
Hey Flintlock......how about you don't kill my bounty next time. You're messing with my livelihood. -In response to Kellen killing one of Roy's bounties during a firefight.
An unforgettable memory can at times seem like an ugly scar. - Responding to Ashlyn's comment about the scar on Kellen's chest.
Bio: His ability with his twin blades strikes fear into the hearts of those who cross him. He was molded into the driven man he is today by the tragedies of his past. He was recruited to join "The Society" at a young age. Due to them giving him this new lease on life and the promises those in charge made to him he remains loyal to them and their goals.
The world is a cruel place. We only aim to fix such a thing. - To Ashlyn when she ask what their goals really are
No. It may seem tyrannical, but people are the most savage kind of animal. Without strict order they're nothing, but wild dogs. - in response to Ashlyn calling "The Society" tyrants
Finally. I've been waiting long for this moment Flintlock. It's just us now. No outside influence. I know you feel as fulfilled when locked in combat with me as I do with you. Let's see which one of us has the stronger will to survive! - To Kellen before a fierce showdown.
Bio: A skilled and resourceful man. His background is shrouded in mystery and he claims to be the older brother of Kellen. Though he provides little proof to back up his claim. He is greedy and self-centered. He is constant pursuit of the "Life Stone" for his own selfish goals. He will do whatever it takes no matter he hurts in the process to obtain it.
Aweee I'm hurt. You don't even recognize your big brother - Upon Kellen and Alex's first meeting.
You're messing with sh-- you have zero knowledge about kiddo. Quit before you get yourself killed. - In response to Ashlyn claiming that their journey is important to the whole world.
No more asking nicely brother. Give me the stone. Don't make me kill her. My hands are already bloody and one more won't cause me to lose sleep. - Threatening Kellen to give him the stone.
Bio: A strong and confident woman. She possesses amazing athleticism that is rivaled by a very few amount of people. She has mastered the spear and ancient magic as weapons. She is one of the last surviving members of her tribe and is the daughter of the last great chief of her people. She joined "The Society" due to promises made to her that her people would once again thrive and have access to their holy lands. She has a great duty to her people and will stop at nothing to fulfill it.
What happens to the rest of the world after they get the stone is little consequence to me. This is about the betterment of my people! *charges at Roy with spear* - In response to Roy claiming "The Society" is only using her.
People always speak of justice while using power to enforce it. What then is the meaning of justice? There is not such thing as "justice". It is all relative. - Refuting Baron's claim that justice is absolute.
I am one of the last surviving members of the proud Taiyo Tribe. Do not take me lightly just because of your misconception of women. I will not hesitate to kill you. - In response to a sexist comment made by a random bandit.
Bio: A man who has fuzzy memories of his childhood. He is very proficient in sword and gunplay. He lives his life as drifter traveling from place to place hoping to find answers on his origin. The only two objects he possesses to aid him in his search are a mysterious picture of lush green landscape and a mysterious stone. He has no idea what the stone does, but feels an innate desire to protect with all that he has. Kellen despises those who take advantage of the weak. He has his own weaknesses though as he loves to partake in liquor and women.
Really? I just paid for that. - In response to his whiskey being knocked over in a bar fight between two other people. More aggravated than angry over the situation.
This picture? No clue where it's from......all I know is that it is the only lead I have. - When responding to Ashlyn's question about the picture he carries.
Yeah. I know people like you. People like you are weak so they feel the need to hurt those who are weaker and can't stand up for themselves just so they can feel better about themselves. The funny thing is that it doesn't make you strong. It makes you weaker than the people you're trying to harm. It makes you the worst kind of coward in my eyes. The kind of coward that I will not hesitate to send straight to hell. - Kellen to a leader of bandits that was assaulting a woman and her children.
Age: 26
Bio: A beautiful young lady from Roy's hometown. The two have had an on and off again relationship since their teenage years. She sings as a profession at the local tavern and at times travels elsewhere for gigs. She is strong, independent, and passionate. She hates when men try to be macho around her and has picked up the ability to use a gun so she may protect herself without any doubts.
Touch me again scumbag and that hand will be so far up your ass you could brush your teeth. - In response to a man trying to get frisky with her as she walks off stage.

Bio: He is a large and strongly built man. He is the current leader of "The Society". His ancestors started the organization and leadership has been passed down through his family over the years. He is a confident and convicted man. Though his ideas are flawed he believes he is 100% correct in his thinking. He is a masterful tactician, manipulator, and fighter.
If you've not averted your eyes, you'll notice that the ground is full of monsters. They are impure creatures, yet no one tries to remove them; no one tries to bring peace. Why? Because humans are weak, cowardly creatures - (Confident) His message to the group
