Project Overview
I run a series for Homestuck on my Youtube Channel. The series is currently around 150 pages in (out of 8,000+). I started this series with my friends, but now I'm wanting to expand and recast in a more professional way. To get a role, you need to commit for a very, VERY long time, this project will likely take multiple years if we wish to finish the comic. I personally have voices that I'd like certain characters to have, but don't let that stop you from auditioning! If the series does reach a point where it makes money, I will be able to pay for services. There is no real deadline, just included it because I had to.
The creation of this series is mainly done through discord, so if you don't have an account, make sure to make one, then either list it alongside your audition, or private message me it.

John Egbert is the first and (arguably) main character of Homestuck. He is a nerd and his voice should reflect that. I'm looking for a high pitched, almost squeaky, nasally voice.
"John tends to be a bit of a goofball, making bad jokes and using off-beat humor and subtle irony. He tends to be passive in nature, complying with commands not because they made logical sense, but because he was told to. His optimism through stalwart skepticism causes his friends think of him as the leader, while he prefers just being their friend."

[You're responding to someone claiming they're trying to be your friend.] ok, this time i'll believe you that you aren't human. because the skepticism center of my brain is starting to wear kind of thin i guess. but you're still a major asshole and i don't actually want to talk to you, so bye.
[You're trying to reassure a friend who lied to help you.] heh. i really don't know what reason i would have to be angry! i mean, aside from the deception involved, but i kinda understand why you did that. and in any case, you did give me a choice.
[Your friends are asking you about a love interest.]um, wow, i don't know. i mean, yeah, sure it would be fun to do something like that with her, i think. but...beyond that, it's a little confusing! i don't think i have ever actually liked a girl before in that way, so i am not really sure what i am supposed to feel or do...
Rose is a big thinker, with every word thought out beforehand. She should sound quick-witted and confident of her words. Very elegant, she should have a posh cadence to her voice, keeping her American accent.
"Rose's interests include a passion for obscure literature, creative writing (about which she is very secretive), and dabbles in psychoanalysis. Despite her mature exterior, Rose can also be quite silly. Rose's personality can be described as one of stoic intelligence. There's no denying that she's one of the smartest characters, and she isn't reluctant to show it through inventive use of her extensive vocabulary. She can seem snarky and even hurtful at times due to her constant sarcastic tone, and is fairly reclusive, rarely initiating conversation unless it is important. She conceals her true feelings rather well, and even appears incredibly calm about the prospect of dying."

[You're running out of time, plagued with indecision.]Sorry, John. I'm just nervous about it. About whether telling you what you definitely will or won't do will alter a predetermined outcome. The result would be a splintered timeline, and we would all be sentenced to eventual oblivion. I'm presently optimistic this has not happened yet, and this is still the alpha timeline. I'd like to keep it that way.

Dave hides everything he says behind layers of irony and sarcasm, so sound as confident and full of yourself as possible.
"He is obsessed with being cool, which manifests itself in his unceasing pursuit of new ironic depths. Dave is introduced to readers as a "really cool dude", which is shown throughout the early acts of the story. He jeers at John's inability to set up his Fetch Modus when John asks him for help and berates John's interests constantly. But despite the indifferent front he puts up, Dave cares about his friends. Dave, despite all of his joking around seems to always take things generally seriously if needed, which also leads him to surpress any other emotion so they don't get in his way."

[Finally opening up to someone, the layers of confidence and irony gone.] i dunno why my friends got to have adults around who cared about them. why did i get such a raw cut of the asshole deck. and why did it take me so long to figure that out. and like hes dead now so thats that. so all thats left to do is look back and try to put the pieces together of my first 13 years. and all i can think is what the fuck WAS that?!. i dont come away with the impression i used to try convincing myself of, that he was like "mysterious" or "stern" or "aloof". the only feeling left is this insane impression that i was raised by somebody who fuckin HATED me. and the whole act of even "raising a child" was some totally fucked up game to him. like parenthood was one of the highest tiers of irony in his solemn bullshit bro-ninja code. so he went through those motions and did whatever he thought was "funny" or "badass". but under that weird stylistic and totally sociopathic approach to parenting i cant even IMAGINE there was any emotion toward me other than some sort of loathing
Jade should have a high pitched, silly, cute, and upbeat voice.
"Jade has a very quirky personality, and often dozes off to sleep, then wakes up without any recollection of ever falling asleep. She is forgetful and wears colorful reminder rings on her fingers. She has an interest in older cartoons, the furry fandom, Nuclear physics, and high-tech gadgetry, and she is a skilled riflewoman. She has repeatedly proven herself to be very brave and resourceful. She cares deeply about her friends and values the ability to act in a crisis, as well as the ability to rise above her despair when others are counting on her. She becomes very frustrated when she, or some version of herself is unable or willing to help in a time of need. Despite her generally positive and plucky demeanor, she has been shown to be impatient and rather insensitive when it comes to handling the emotions of others when they are being particularly difficult."

[trying to not mess up the timeline.] both are! but a silly conversation mostly doesnt matter or make the timeline more confusing than it needs to be. so we can have one right now if you want. in fact i would say it is coming dangerously close to being one already! but if it is a serious conversation you want then im afraid i must demand a........PASSWORD :P
[reassuring a friend.] dave is cool, you know he will come around when the time is right. he just has a lot of work to do first. and so do you! youll need to keep searching for a stable signal and power source, it will be hard but dont give up!!! and dont worry about me either, focus on playing with john first. it all starts with you two!
Homestuck is a long webcomic with a lot of characters, both big and small. For future recurring characters, I'll make new auditions, each with a new Additional Voices Role
