House of Mouse - You Saved Your Life! (VAs Casting Call)
Project Overview
LISTENING TO THE PROTOTYPE AUDIO IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR REFERENCE.
House of Mouse - You Saved Your Life! is a 2D fan-animated short based on the fan-favorite Disney animated TV series "House of Mouse".
READ THE FULL SCRIPT FOR THE SHORT HERE - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EtPmA5QM5VPplQrkwqJ40rvR_DhS0ygm/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=104408288927726563039&rtpof=true&sd=true
The basic premise of the original show focused on Mickey Mouse and his friends operating a dinner theater club in downtown ToonTown. Considered a popular venue by the residents, the club is frequented by a host of characters from Disney animated properties; a feature of the series is that every film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation prior to the start of the series (between and including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Atlantis: The Lost Empire, except for the CGI Dinosaur) are featured in the series. Such characters mostly appear as paying guests of the club, and would often have speaking roles, although a number sometimes operate as performers for the club.
This 2D animated short focuses on Oswald The Lucky Rabbit (Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks' first character, created BEFORE Mickey Mouse) hosting an experimental game format called YOU SAVED YOUR LIFE!, in which contestants must respond to hilariously nonsensical questions. Saying the secret world will make a random object fall on the contestants' heads. The humor of this short is taken from the WB cartoon "Animaniacs", with a few twists.

The man, the myth, the legend. Mickey operates the "House of Mouse" Dinner Theater Club as its general manager and co-owner but often leaves the club's management to his friends. His main role in the club is hosting the evening's entertainment as its showbiz superstar. In this fan-animated short, he shares his role with Oswald The Lucky Rabbit
The audition consists of 1 or 2 classic lines from the original or other Disney shows and 1 or 2 lines from the script I wrote for the short. I'm searching for someone who can do a very good Mickey Mouse impression (based on his portrayal by Wayne Allwine) and has a good voice range in general.

Now I wanna remind everyone of the House of Mouse Rules: No smoking. No villainous schemes. And no guests eating other guests.
Tonight, we have a show that won't be forgotten. [spotlight goes out; audience gasps] Unlike our electric bill. *nervous laugh*
And now, everyone’s second-favorite host… *under a low voice* Gosh, I can’t believe I said that… *voice back to normal* …OSWALD THE LUCKY RABBIT!
Oswald was the first character Walt DIsney and Ub Iwerks created BEFORE Mickey Mouse.
So it makes sense making him the co-host of the show at the House of Mouse.
This role has less limits than the others. Audition reading actual lines from the script I wrote, and you can:
- create your own take on the voice.

*whistles* There are so many people tonight! I even see good ‘ol Maleficent! You know, she’ll never forget the first time she met Prince Phillip… but she’s tryin’! *laughs*
Welcome to "You Saved Your Life". Say the secret word, and a random object will hit you on the head!
All right! You’ve chosen the category “Total Randomness”. Here’s your question… What happened yesterday to my brother-in-law Harry? A) He took the bus and forgot to give it back. B) He went to the bank to make a withdrawal but they gave him a cow instead. C) They told him he was uninfluential, so he changed his name to Rod Roddy. D) He found a bug in his teacup.
Donald operates as the club's deputy manager, responsible for the overall customer service at the club and tending to the needs of VIP guests. Although a co-owner of the club, he is envious of Mickey's fame and position and tends to want to run the club himself, though his efforts are usually thwarted by his conscience preventing him from betraying his friendship with Mickey. In this short, Donald is one of the contestants of the experimental game format "You Saved Your Life".
The audition consists of 1 or 2 classic lines from the original or other Disney shows and 1 or 2 lines from the script I wrote for the short. I'm searching for someone who can do a very good Donald Duck impression (based on his portrayal by Tony Anselmo) and has a good voice range in general.
What's the big idea, you big palooka?! *throws an anger fit*
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! This is gonna be fun!
Moana is the titular protagonist of Disney's Moana film series. Born on the island village of Motunui with an inherited love for the seas and voyaging, Moana is the new Chieftess of Motunui Island and the daughter of the former chiefs Tui and Sina.
Moana doesn't appear in the original show because "House of Mouse" was produced from 2001 to 2003. But she will appear in this fan-animated short as one of the contestants for the game format "You Saved My Life".
Your audition consists of replicating Moana's voice well (based on her portrayal by original voice actress Auli'i Cravalho).
It's 1 line from the original movie and 2 from the script I wrote. Here are videos for reference:

I am Moana of Motunui. You will board my boat, sail across the sea and restore the heart of Te Fiti!
And I thought MAUI was the trickster!
Mmmh… Can we use the 50/50 hint?
Microphone Mike is an anthropomorphic toon microphone who serves as the announcer at the House of Mouse, mainly introducing Mickey at the beginning of every show, introducing some of the onstage acts, and announcing the show's sponsors at the end of most shows. Rod Roddy, best known as the announcer of the popular game show The Price is Right, voiced him.
Your audition consists of replicating Rod Roddy's voice well and reading the script I wrote for Mike.

You got it, Mickey! "You Saved Your Life" was brought to you by… LILLIAN’S POETRY CORNER! Get mesmerized by the loving words of a young girl in search of her voice.
Fine examples of poetry like… “The Cake”. (leave some seconds of silence for Lillian to talk) “London Bridge”. (leave some seconds of silence for Lillian to talk) And we surely can’t forget “Old Mother Hubbard”.
LILLIAN’S POETRY CORNER - The answer, my friend, is in the wind… *talking fast, giving a warning disclaimer* Except in Ohio, where what’s blowing in the wind smells funny.
Lillian is an original character I created for this short. She's Oswald's daughter, named after Walt Disney's wife, and one of 10 kids from his family allowed to work at the House of Mouse, being all legal adults.
Lillian works as the club's set designer, designing decorations for special events. She wrote a poetry book called "Lillian's Poetry Corner", which she promotes in this short by reading a few of her poems.

*reciting her poem* Patty cake, patty cake, baker’s man. Bake me a cake as fast as you can... Seriously, I’m in a hurry! I'll be fired if I don’t get that cake to the office by 5 o’clock!
*reciting her poem* London Bridge is falling down… Because it was poorly constructed!
*reciting her poem* Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard, to get her poor doggie a bone. But when she got there, her cupboard was bare... so she picked up her phone and ordered some pizza.
Many characters from various animated Disney films (such as Cinderella, Aladdin, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, The Lion King, Beauty And The Beast, The Little Mermaid, Hercules, Sleeping Beauty, and many more) have appeared on House of Mouse, mostly as guests and attendees. The show included many relatively obscure and otherwise rarely-used characters from some of Walt Disney Animation's more obscure films, often with speaking parts; however, appearances by characters from other media (such as comic books and television shows) were few and far between.
For this short, the only original spoken line is the crowd chanting the game format's name YOU SAVED YOUR LIFE!
You can do either use your normal voice or an impression of your favourite Disney character (talking animal or princess, hero or villain, the choice is yours!)
