Dhampir: A Story in Need of Voices

Dhampir: A Story in Need of Voices

Project Overview

This project is actually for a story I started writing back in high school. Now a junior in college, I finally finished it, and am now looking for voices to take the place of the bland and flavorless black and white text on paper, and change them into a work of art! Please note that not all characters will be included in this audition, as there are so many to voice, and I can only have so much time on my hands. If you audition, you will also get access to the full story. It is a fun story, and should be a good read for both young and old.

Latest Updates

  • This Project is Cancelled.

Unfortunately, due to a major setback, namely budget, this project will not be up for any more auditions. I do, however, encourage whoever was cast in the auditions to try out for roles in my newer project, Asriel's Adventures: An Undertale Audio Drama, as this series will be posted on Youtube.
  • Deadline was pushed back another month/ line changes/ Help Needed.

With all that's been going on recently, the deadline to find all the necessary voices for this book has been pushed back a month. Also, a few voice lines have changed. Plus, for those of you who have already been cast, send word to any female voice actors you may know. We need all the help we can get. Thank you!
  • Female Voices Needed!

We are still looking for Voice Actors to fill the Female Roles of this project. This project won't be up for very long; Only about a month more, at most. So, to those who have gotten roles already, spread the word about this project so that we may have a wider spectrum of voices to choose from! Thank you! :)
  • New Role: Narrator

I realized that a Narrator would be needed for the non-dialogue parts, so this role has been added.

A girl who is half human, half vampire. Generally calm and caring, but has had a very rough past. Sounds gruff, but is really a huge teddy bear. Will still kick your ass if you try anything funny. :3 (Think British Rainbow Dash, if that helps.)

  • I've never really been one for fighting people who don't deserve it... but for you, I'll make an exception! Get ready! Here I come!

  • “I believe the word that you’re searching for is ‘punctual’, though, I must say, this is hardly the time or the place for a formal meeting.”

  • "I take it that you’re big brother Marcel. Charlemagne told me about you. Well, to be more precise, she showed me what you did to her."

An assassin from a Guild of Cheshire Cats, this 18 year old ginger is bubbly and very fun to be around. Is also very deadly in combat when provoked or challenged. Has a higher pitched voice, kind of like Tracer from Overwatch, but with a bit of gravel.

  • They say that I can be everywhere and nowhere... Well, not to be rude, but you're the one who nearly got killed, Teresa, not me.

  • *Do a few short laughs, and one hysterical laugh, like you just heard the best joke in the world.*

  • "My name is Charlemagne, ma'am. I've only known Teresa for about three or four hours, but from my experiences with her, she's a real treasure."

Charlemagne's Brother. Starts off cold and heartless, but warms up as the story progresses. Sounds mean, with a slightly deeper than average voice. Quite seductive sounding.

  • *condescending* "Charlemagne, Charlemagne, Charlemagne... You really should be careful about who you become friends with; they could be the death of you."

  • "Let the weak fend for themselves, and in the end, they will find their true strength unlocked."

Charlemagne and Marcel's Middle sister. Technological wizard and engineer. A bit nutty, and a little bit lazy. Needs to sound tired, while not sounding totally out of it. Kind of raspy.

  • *in thought* "The thing about technology like this is that there is usually a way to dispose of the information contained within the hard drive. If we're lucky, we won't have any problems or bombs to deal with. But I'll need to scan it to be sure. Tapu, my handy-dandy robot assistant, will help us with that."

  • *Distressed*“How could I have missed that? I’m usually so thorough with my scans and diagnostics.”

  • We’re currently in Cardiff, staying in a hotel room. Me and my siblings are trying to help someone track down her father’s murderer. He made himself known to us, and he’s sent us on a wild goose chase for a set of items, but he didn’t give us any idea of where he was hiding. Quite the annoying bastard, this Lysander is.

The villain. Scarred and twisted in the mind, this vampire wants world domination and Teresa's head on a platter. Has a high wheedling voice, but not obnoxious.

  • *through struggled breaths* "To the half-breed, Teresa Nosferatas, who managed to escape my grasp so many years ago, I must congratulate you for your resilience and resistance. Managing to hide from me for this long, it is an impressive feat for a person such as yourself, even more impressive that you managed to destroy the android containing this message. I must, regretfully, tip my hat to you. But that does not change my feeling of hatred for you. You, who can survive in both light and shadow. You, who can stay alive without drinking the blood of others. You, who can control the dark powers of the vampire with greater ease than your full-blooded cousins. You… the great Dhampir of legend..."

  • *Giggling near the end.* "They’ve been quite entertaining so far. “Except for that one. The ginger. She didn’t even try to move. Tell me, what did her face show? Shock? Fear? Or was it a look of acceptance for the fact that she was about to die?"

  • *Crazy laugh. Go all-out*

Lysander's daughter of over five-hundred years. Has the appearance of a twelve-year-old. Speaks telepathically, so some echo might be required. Has a cute voice.

  • “I am not here to fight, half-breed. I am merely here to deliver a message from my father to you. My name is Liliana Rosenveil. It is both a pleasure, and a curse, to meet your acquaintance.”

  • “Like you, I don’t like to be antagonized. But unlike you, I don’t have a temper.”

  • *Giggle.*

The narrator should sound British, weathered, as if he/she had been through a few fights him/herself. Gender does not matter here, as this role is open to either.

  • My mother worked in a book store in a less developed part of England. She absolutely loved working there, because she adored the books that were sold there. There were books of untold adventures, books of love and romance, and books that made you scratch your head, wondering how it was going to end. This bookshop was small, but it was filled to the brim with gems of a bygone era, soon to be replaced by electronic, hand-held devices that would be too complicated to understand. My father was a regular customer at the bookshop, and it was here that he met with my mother

  • Line 2

Reaching another stoplight on the road, I rolled down my windows, and turned to see that the Gallardo had stopped next to me, windows also down. I stared at Travis for a few seconds before noticing that in the seat next to him was a fiery redhead. She looked innocent at first glance, but then I got a closer look, and I saw that she was almost exactly like Travis. The only difference was that instead of tattoos and piercings, she wore way too much eyeliner and dressed almost entirely in black and purple. She was missing a single tooth from the top row of her teeth, which indicated that she was a hothead who’d picked a fair few fights in her lifetime. Travis, knowing that I was right next to him, called out my name. I didn't acknowledge him the first time he called; despite the fact that the bookstore went out seven years ago, I was still angry with him. But he was being persistent, and I didn't like it one bit.

  • Line 3

The one thing that I noticed about Charlemagne was that she was fiercely loyal, sticking by my side like a trained war dog. It was interesting, to say the least, because while most of my other friends tried to mooch off of me, Charlemagne ripped throats open when I was threatened. To me, that's the kind of person I would want to have on speed dial when I'm in a pinch. I smiled.
