Project Overview

I'm making a film in Minecraft based on the Create: Aeronautics mod!

Synopsis:

Ari, a young and budding pirate takes her first flight in her brother's family airplane. The two are part of a small band of air pirates who came together in the aftermath of a war which had rendered the much of the world too polluted for life.

Amidst the empty world, pockets of civilization dot the map, but are still separated by vast swathes of land. Here, high altitude biplanes and airships dominate the word.

We follow Ari as she butts heads with the Religious fanatics of the Empire, seeking to reclaim the ground, threatening the only life she has ever known.

Tone and style:

The story's first few acts are quite upbeat and happy, it has a hopeful ending but the second half is considerably darker and tragic. This isn't due to extreme violence or anything such as that, but many of the main characters will die :(

Themes (spoilers):

This is a story about righteousness. It is a story about people who believe fully in their idealized visions of the world, and believe fully that they alone have the answers for everyone and the world. It’s a story that forces these people into a time of change, challenging their beliefs by uprooting the world in which they created and cemented these worldviews.

The Emperor is a man of ideals, he sees himself as an underdog, fighting against the tyranny of the world trying to destroy him and his righteous efforts to reclaim the earth. (And justifies his brutal rule as a means to an end)

Amus is a man of ideals, he sees himself as a liberator, fighting to free his people against an oppressive, violent empire. (By enacting extreme violence on those he deems as enemies)

Toro is a man of ideals, he kills others and burns the world to save his sister and he pays dearly for it.

Ari…, Ari realises this cycle, this endless unstopping cycle of oppression, self deification and hubris. And she lets go. She decides to spare [someone] in the final chapter, she decides to help those who she had once hunted.

    Hello! The turnout for this project has been incredible and it was REALLY difficult for me to choose VAs. Ya'll did an amazing job!

Because of this, he has both a strong distrust of people and government.  In his adulthood, he would rob to survive, landing him between hard labor and prison.
