Deltarune The Musical: Chapters 2/3/4

Project Overview

Game Rec Room proudly presents our next major project, a continuation of our Deltarune the Musical: Chapter 1, continuing currently into the end of Chapter 4, with a continuation occurring as more chapters are released.

This project will be a compilation of lyric videos set to the music of Deltarune, very similar to what was seen on the channel for Deltarune the Musical: Chapter 1. This project will include 1 year of pre-production prior to an official release on Youtube, this is to help build up a backlog, and the ability to create everything needed in a reasonable timeframe.

Feel free to audition for as many roles as you want, the more of your voice we get to see, the better. Versatile cast members are especially appreciated and considered. It is possible you may be asked to sing for a role different than what you auditioned for.

You're welcome to view not only our Deltarune lyric videos, but also the more recent Super Paper Mario the Musical to get an understanding of not only the style of video, but also our channel's particular approach.

Some pre-audition information:

  1. Be at least 16+ to audition

  2. Be open to working on Discord, that is where the majority of communication will occur

  3. Please do your best to submit with the best quality you can in your auditions as well as keeping vocal effects to a minimum. We want to hear YOUR voice most importantly, not an edited product.

  4. This is a very large-scale project and will require positive and consistent communication through all aspects and people. If you are unavailable for stretches of time, please communicate that in a way that will not interfere with the process.

  5. Every role, unless otherwise specified, requires a singing audition as well as the spoken section. Please sing something you feel would fit for the character as stated in the descriptions

  6. Please include your discord in your audition description due to Rule #2

    Final Note: If you have the ability to either capture gameplay, or arrange harmonies within songs, please let us know in your audition, it will increase your chances of getting cast.

  • Callbacks Ongoing - Thank you all!

    Once again thank you all for your wonderful submissions!

    Callback decisions have been made and every applicant who has been selected has been contacted, and made contact in return. This means that there is no need to worry about a missed message or friend request as all individuals have been informed.

    The final update for this project should come in approximately a week, as that is when the roles themselves will have attached individuals where proper.

    Once again, thank you all for your wonderful submissions! This truly was an extremely difficult process with so many incredibly talented individuals who we were so honored to have audition for our project!

  • The casting call is closed! What's next?

    Hello all,

    Thank you for all your wonderful, talented, and passionate submissions! It's been an absolute pleasure going through all 538 submissions for this project! Some of you may be waiting for a response, or confirmation one way or another, so let me explain our process moving forwards.

    Scenario 1: As this is such a large project with so many submissions, we will be going through a callback process for major recurring voices, which only includes a handful of roles listed in the casting call.
    This callback process will occur over discord DM's, where more information will be provided, so be on the lookout for that.

    Scenario 2: You may also receive a message over discord about a technical role or ensemble. These are likely to be confirmation messages given the role requirements, and slots available not requiring a secondary process. Though we may need to confirm a few things before officially onboarding, so please ensure to read through what the message sent to your DMs says.
    - My discord username is: "coolskeleton95." OR "Coolskeleton95#0232", and I will be the only person reaching out in regards to casting within the project.

    NOTE: All vocal auditions, regardless of character will be counted as an ensemble audition. So you may be contacted in regards to singing for assorted characters/ensemble even if you only submitted for a name character. Also some of the minor named characters will count as "ensemble", so just because you were cast in that role, does not mean you won't play a character listed on the casting call.

Queen is the boss of Chapter 2. Her voice should be elegant and arrogant, with an air of superiority. Her comedic moments come from her superior intellect, while her more dramatic moments can be played in a confident, laid back attitude. 

Most of her songs are very fast, so keep that in mind for the sung portion of your audition.

Gerson is the Hammer of Justice. Deceased at the time of the game, he is revived by the power of the dark fountain. Serving as an old, wise mentor to Susie mainly, his tactics are unconventional, but unquestionably effective. As a respected writer in the light world, he has a way with words that can uplift even those in their darkest hour.

Noelle is just a girl next door. Going through some rough family life, she always manages to find the bright spot of most situations. Crushing HARD on Susie, and not very discretely. Her voice should be very soothing, and calming generally, with breakout moments of emotion being rare but impactful.

The ruler of the first dark world the hero's find themselves in, Chaos King is a stereotypical villain ready to rule with an iron fist and threaten his own son if it gives him the upper hand. After his defeat, he holds a slightly more comedic tone, while maintaining some of his darkness

Seam is a mysterious shopkeeper who resides in Castle Town, pushing the hero's on their journey to collect all of the mysterious Shadow Crystals. Their yet-unknown powers seem to be understood by Seam, showing his depth of knowledge of the Dark Worlds and potentially prophecy as well.

Alphys is a teacher at the Hometown School, presiding over the class Susie and Kris are in. She's a shy character, often stuttering over her own words, with an intense anime obsession and desire to look after those she knows, even if she's off in a corner somewhere by herself.

Kris and Asriel's mother, Toriel is an extremely caring and loving mother. She can be stern at times, putting her foot down where needed, but otherwise does her best to be hospitable to all those she encounters. Also a teacher at the hometown school like Alphys, Toriel pulls double duty by working the choir at the church.
