Project Overview

Dead Heartbeat is a puzzle/horror game inspired by an episode of Star vs. The Forces of Evil. After Star transforms into her monstrous Mewberty form and attacks Echo Creek Academy, Marco and his friends must find a way to rescue their classmates and stop Star once and for all.

This session, we are casting the rest of the main cast, meaning characters that are playable and/or significant to the plot. We will be casting extra characters later. Marco, Janna and Jackie have already been casted.

Charlie is a close friend of Marco's. If you're a fan of the show, you might remember him as Gustav. He takes the situation very seriously, but can occasionally make a lighthearted joke. He's basically the dad friend.

Alfonzo is a thoughtful and cautious student. More often than not, he speaks in a calm, formal tone. He may come off as a bit cold at times, especially in serious situations, but he's happy to mess around and unwind when he's with Ferguson and other friends of his.

  • "There appears to be some sort of motive behind all of this. I'm sensing a pattern between the targets, and I'm determined to figure out exactly what it is."

Ferguson is a fun-loving, supportive friend. His high spirits helped him earn his role as the school's football team mascot. He's smarter than he gives himself credit for.

Oskar comes off as distant, delinquent musician, but he's actually quite approachable. In the events of the game, he struggles to understand himself more than anything else. He's very protective of his pet ferret named Gene.

Timmy is a demon who was cursed by Queen Moon, stripping him of his powers and giving him a human form. He attends Echo Creek Academy as a student in hopes of finding a way to get his hands on some magic to find his way back home.

Star is the main antagonist of the game. Unlike the actual episode of Mewberty, she has a lot more to say. She has a sort of innocent yet haunting voice, depending on what her intentions are.

  • "Well, I guess I don't have much of a choice..."
