Hi there! This casting call is for the SURVIVORS! Feel free to submit an audition here even if you've already auditioned for a killer!
Casting Call Club : Dead by Daylight Parody Podcast - "The Auric Cell"
PLOT: The Entity has mysteriously died. The survivors and killers all return to Earth, circa 2021-ish, and try to regain some semblance of normalcy after being forced to do the entity's bidding for countless years. Unlike their killer counterparts, the survivors live very different lives post-entity's collapse. Some acclimate well to their new lives...others are a fucking mess. The podcast series serves to answer the question of..."to what extent can people really change?"
The Auric Cell is trying to cultivate a form of Narrative Dead by Daylight Entertainment with continuity that allows these characters to come to life in a way that's never been done before. Channels like Saminations and Luminious offer exceptional content with their scripted DBD entertainment...but they're pretty much the only ones. I want to offer this show and hub as another option in the market: an option that differentiates itself by having more 3 dimensionality to its characters, posting more frequently, offering analysis/lore content as well. Not only that, but doing all of this while maintaining a dynamic balance of comedy and depth through the writing and characters.
That's where YOU come in!
Below is a casting call for SOME of the many characters in Dead by Daylight. We’re looking for people to play RECURRING roles. Meaning, if you’re cast as Claudette or Zarina or whatever, we’ll need you to be able to play them whenever a new script launches. Some characters are going to appear more than others, obviously, so compensation on each role will depend on how large or small of a part your role has to play. Any questions about compensation can be directed to me, Solomon Troupe, but needless to say: all actors will be compensated for any work they do for the show, unless there’s an extreme circumstance.
In regards to acting stuff, consider the following 3 things:
These characters all have preexisting voice actors for the game of DBD, but unless the character you’re auditioning for is licensed, we’re really just looking for YOUR take and YOUR voice in these parts. Don’t feel pressure to sound exactly like the character in the game unless the part specifically demands some level of that.
The turnaround times for file submissions are gonna be fairly quick (often 1.5 to 2.5 weeks after the script is frozen) so gauge your level of commitment here. For a good chunk of these roles, it won’t be a one-off project. We’ll need you again. Even if it’s small. So be ready for that.
VERY IMPORTANT: Please, after every audition, (briefly) notate how much you know about Dead by Daylight. This includes gameplay knowledge as well as lore and character knowledge. If it’s very little, tell me. If it’s not a lot, tell me as well. LACK OF DBD KNOWLEDGE WILL NOT HURT YOUR CHANCES OF BEING CAST. I’m looking for RANGE and TALENT first and foremost. But since a lot of this humor may be referential, I think it’s important that the casting team gets a sense of your experience with the game. Also, please tell me the extent of your knowledge when it comes to the horror genre as a whole.
- On some roles, it may behoove you to specify if you belong to a certain group when you submit your audition. (More details on each of those individual roles) If you do not feel comfortable disclosing your race/ethnicity, that is totally and completely okay. It will not be a deciding factor in casting. These roles are: Jane Romero and Ace Visconti. Thank you for understanding.

Claudette Morel is the empathetic botanist who has the innate ability to teach others to care for themselves. She is very shy, and falls on the autism spectrum (Though she has less support needs than most.) She is literally a pure cinnamon roll who has never done anything wrong.

Growing up...it was always...hard...to..uhm...to..to speak up. You know? I always felt like no one wanted, er, like, no one wanted to hear me. People...they never heard me. But...plants? They always listened. No matter what. There, uhm...there's an old adage out there about, uhm...how...if...if, i-if you talk to a plant, it helps it grow. But, I, uhm...there's a lot of r-reasearch out there to support that hypothesis, actually. And I think...I think that's really...like...really...beautiful. Jake Park is a iron willed korean-american man with a calm spirit. Using his survivalist acumen, he can also be quite the saboteur to any villain's plans. Despite all of the horrific events in the entity's realm, he is genuinely unfazed by most of it. He can look death in the face and not even blink. Since some killers find great enjoyment in murdering him and his friends, Jake finds great enjoyment in making that job as difficult and unfulfilling as possible for the killers. He is a man with Big Dick Energy, but doesn't feel the need to flaunt it. He's what the incels would call a "Sigma Male."

Ace Visconti is a charming gambler and salesman. And by salesman, I mean con-artist. His ancestry is Italian, but he grew up on the streets of Argentina. He was ah hustler in the entity's realm and he's still a hustler now that he left.
NOTE: He has some words that are in Spanish, so I'd prefer a VA who can speak the language. Also, if you have an italian accent, I'll accept that as well.

Feng Min is a gamer girl. But not in the cutesy-fied internet way. She's a toxic "sweaty" player who will do anything possible to win. She's also the biggest Dead by Daylight streamer on Twitch. She's an arrogant, entitled gamer who is, admittedly, too good at what she does for anyone to stop her.
NOTE: She's Chinese, so if you have a Chinese accent that is also totally welcome for this role.
Oh I don't know why anyone still plays Dead by Daylight. The game is terrible. It's also great. It’s so horribly awful. It's incredibly addicting. But I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much if I weren't a survive-with-friends red rank who can loop the killer until they DC.
Toxic? There’s nothing toxic about me running DS--Unbreakable-SprintBurst--Adrenaline. There’s nothing TOXIC about bringing a flashlight, body blocking the hook, and escaping through the hatch because I brought a key and and map offering. There’s nothing TOXIC about teabagging at every pallet and exit gate and then sending the killer hate mail after every game because they’re all tunneling face camping pieces of shit. The killers are the toxic ones. They try to kill me! (pause) So what if that's their job?? It's still toxic!

Jane Romero is the host of one of the most popular talk shows in America; the Jane Romero Show. She is an incredibly hard working person who just wants to put her past in the entity's realm behind her. She's Latina but doesn't want that to define her. She'd rather be known for her excellent hosting abilities.
NOTE: Being latina is an important part of this character's lore in game, so I'd prefer a Hispanic VA play this part. That being said, she doesn't need an accent, and her part probably works better without one.

Felix is an introverted architect whose parents disappeared after a crazy supernatural event caused by the Entity. Now, after escaping the entity's realm with the help of his childhood friend, Elodie, he wants to go back to living a normal life with his wife and kids. Except...he can't find them. He teams up with Elodie again for one last mystery solving adventure. Felix is brilliant, cautious, and charismatic. The ladies love him, but he doesn't have time for that. He has to work with Elodie to find the truth.

Elodie Rakoto is a french-madagascan researcher. She questions everything around her and is on a constant search for the truth. Currently, she is teaming up with her childhood friend Felix to uncover the mystery of the entity's disappearance. She is ambitious and driven, but still struggles a bit socially.
