Project Overview

What is Social Order?

Social Order is a non-profit fan-made spinoff of Danganronpa, focused on themes of social construct and mass hysteria! We are not in association with Spike Chunsoft, Nisa, or the Danganronpa franchise. It follows a cast of 18 unwilling participants, half "Ultimates" and half normal people, who are forced into a life-or-death scenario. Will the Ultimates be as ruthless as many of society's elite, and tear the unfortunate participants to shreds? Will the normal ones rise in revolution? Or will coexistence form between them, only snapping at the seams? Social Order is intended to be a visual novel in the same style as projects like Danganronpa: Despair Time, with similar formatting.

The story follows Amira Asura, the Ultimate Water Polo Player, as she chooses to enter “a game to determine the truth of our society”. Initially advertised as a gameshow-style televised program, the game was predicted to include “moments of joy, terror, and excitement, as our cast faces their greatest fears to win the prize”. Of course, the game wasn’t quite all it was supposed to be- and a whole lot more.

A few rules for applying for things:
1. 13+ only please!
2. This is likely to be a long-term project, please be prepared to stick it out the whole way!
3. Most communication will be done through discord- please have an account, and be relatively active through it.
4. Use of AI or theft of any person's voice or art will not be tolerated, and will result in a ban from the project. This includes direct copying or tracing of art, and auditioning using someone else's voice!

  • Decisions Have Been Made!

    It's official- The VA cast for Social Order has been selected.

    Over 150 auditions (between CCC and Discord)- this was not an easy decision to make. After over a month of anxiety and fear that there wouldn't be enough auditions, or that there simply wouldn't be a good fit for each character, I can safely say you all blew it away. And I mean that- every last audition I've reviewed over the last 24 hours (and weeks leading up to it) has been spectacular. It's been an absolute joy getting to see each VA bring the characters I've spent so long creating to life, and I'm so immensely thankful to every one of you for all the support for this project.

    So from the bottom of my heart (and those of the 19 characters I've spent the past year+ finalizing, scripting, and in some cases, killing), thank you.

    Tomorrow, midday CDT, we'll be announcing our VA cast in the discord server. Shortly after, I'll update the post here with filled positions- to those of you who got roles, please join the server once you see you've gotten the role! We really hope you stick around and see what DR:SO has to offer- we hope we can put together a fantastic series for you all to enjoy, filled with twists, turns, and perhaps a little bit of murder.   • Casting in Progress...

    Hello there- Govo here!

    I just wanted to give a huge thanks to everyone who auditioned for this project! I never thought this project would capture the interest it has, and I'm so grateful to each and every one of you. You all are awesome!

    That being said- I'm so excited to start putting together a VA cast, and hopefully getting results out soon! The goal date for casting is Sunday- a little over 24 hours from now. But, of course, that's flexible, depending on how things go- and I'll be sure to throw an announcement here as soon as decisions are made.

  • Deadline Approaching

    Hello there! I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who has, and intends to audition! There's a little less than a week left, and I'm so excited to start casting. I figured you all deserved a bit of an update here- so for those of you not in the discord server, here is where we stand.

    ART: Well underway! We are actively pumping out proper references, alongside sprites, pixel art, and splash art! We can always use more artists though- so if you know any, send them our way!

    WRITING: The writing for the 1st episode (Prologue Pt. 1) is complete and edited! It's a shorter episode- to test the waters- but will hopefully serve as a nice way to ease people into Social Order!

    VAs: Casting is, as you know, undergoing. Please continue to apply up until the deadline- no decisions will be made until then! It's looking like most, if not all, positions will be able to be filled within this casting cycle- we have auditions for every character!

VA Description: Amir is... well, a bit of a grandfather. Totaling 72 years of age, his voice is mid-tone masculine, with an overall very tired sounding feel. He's constantly dejected and down- which means his voice follows, sounding generally depressed and unenthused. He does, however, have kind tones to his voice- ones that add to the grandfather feel, especially on the rare occasion he is happy.  


  History: Amir has lived a long life. Originating from India- and technically still residing there- he has a whopping 4 kids and 6 grandkids, all of whom he loves dearly. So dearly, in fact, that he spends most of his time in Canada, where 3 of his 4 children immigrated to- in order to cover the drastic costs of cross-continental travel, he began working again just 4 years after his retirement, as a travelling tax collector for the Canadian government. He makes his money now travelling to find tax evaders- and visiting his family along the way.

History: The host of this game- X-3N is a machine beyond comprehension. What it is is unimportant. Do what they say, or else.

VA Description: Ashima's voice is high pitched and somewhere between feminine and androgynous- the key tones for her are those of youth and joy. Ashima is often happy, and that reflects in her voice as broken giggles and a smiley sounding voice. However, she can also take on an almost monotonous tone as well, particularly when quoting one of the many textbooks she has memorized. Altogether she is quiet- but not because she wants to be. Because of her stature, many people speak over her, and they've got quite a bit of nerve to do so! Ashima's voice, while very child-like, has both bitter and sweet tones, depending on how much she likes you- and how nice you've been to her.

History: Ashima Syed is a simple person. A self-described "forever student", she is currently a freshman in university. Currently studying biology for humans and plants, she is known to be the kind of person who dives headfirst into their work, with intense focus. This is all topped off by the one thing she is known for- her perfect memory, which allows for quick and simple memorization of the exact words on textbook pages.

VA Description: Colin is vain, and overall full of himself. His voice is mid to high pitched, leaning male- with an overall prideful tone to it. He's also exceptionally flirty, without care for who he's flirting with- so long, of course, they are old enough. To top it all off, his voice is flat out annoying- with hints of a whine hidden behind it.


  History: Colin Starros has a reputation. Sure, he's a half-decent malacologist- you don't get recognized by the council on mollusks for the Americas by doing nothing- but anything positive he has done is far overshadowed. Colin's reputation is one of flirtatiousness- and also exceptional infidelity. He dates, and he cheats, and he does it all over again, like some endless cycle. Yet, people still try to get him to love them- he is wealthy, after all.

VA Description: Cute and cuddly? That is, perhaps, the opposite if Jia Liu. Jia, while not seemingly hostile, is generally quite cold. She's also prone to bursts of anger, and generally harsh interjections from time to time. Jia is also unafraid, and the kind of person who doesn't really care what happens to anyone except herself. Her voice is mid-high female, and should alternate between neutral and cold.

History: Jia Liu- a... stuffed animal surgeon? Jia's background is certainly interesting- having initially attempted medical school, only to fail out. At the time, she didn't have a backup- and ended up working at local shops for a bit. This led her to employment at build-a-friend, where she quickly discovered a hidden talent for sewing- a remnant of her attempts at a medical career. Now, people do send her things from around the world to fix- although her attempts to gain ultimate status remain unapproved.

VA Description: Kayla's voice can be any range of feminine leaning voice! She is generally quite arrogant, with a voice that makes it seem like she's looking down on you. This is paired with a very expressive voice, that makes every emotion extremely clear. Besides this, his voice is generally open to interpretation.   

  History: Kayla Kelly is, without a doubt, a strong athlete. A valuable player throughout much of her college career, he's been the star of multiple teams. However, despite being an undeniable good player, he's never done quite well enough to be of any real note- winning games is one thing, but without a championship title she stands little chance of proper recognition. Despite this, Kayla has all the confidence- and is well known for being her own best hype-man, as well as an avid cheerleader for her team.

VA Description: Micah has a mid-high voice that is very androgynous. They constantly sound happy, even when upset, allowing them to spit poison without much consequence. Because of this, and Micah's distinct lack of understanding in social situations, they will often casually say things that can be taken as very insulting without second thought.


  History: Micah Santos is, for all purposes, a mystery. When they say they aren't famous, that isn't a lie- there's next to no internet presence, no known public appearances, or really anything at all. The only thing that is generally available is a minimally published cookbook that sold only a few copies in Guatemala and surrounding countries before its discontinuation.

VA Description: Oak has a mid-pitch voice that can be masculine, feminine, or androgynous. Her voice is rough and angry much of the time, but definitely can show softness and vulnerability. This gives her a friendly yet protective voice, that can both cut you to ribbons and sooth your every worry.


  History: Oak Winters is an artist. Her instagram account- @snowcoveredbranches went viral three years ago, after she posted some images of mural-type art she'd made in her room. Ever since then, she's been getting commission after commission from business and homeowners looking to redecorate with bright, vibrant colors. The business has, for the time, kept her busy enough that she hasn't thought about enrolling in college, despite mild concerns from some of her viewers. At the very least, she's passionate about her art- and everyone online appreciates that, at least.

VA Description: Pika has a mid-high pitch, very energetic voice that leans feminine. It bubbles and bursts with energy, and every emotion is over exaggerated  and vibrant. This can make them sound childish at times, and relatively unserious. They don't seem to ever feel anything but the maximum emotions, which means they oscillate pretty heavily between super happy and super sad.


  History: Pika is a minor cosplayer from the Northeast US. She's particularly well known for playing childhood favorite characters- from Pokémon to cartoons, her attitude and costume design skills allow accurate representations of the characters she chooses to play. Mostly, he's known for visiting a number of cons in the area- although the YouTube channel he started about two years ago has a small, highly invested following from around the world. Overall, Pika is far from famous- but according to their vlogs, they really don't mind this at all. Beyond their cosplay and digital life, no one is really sure what exactly Pika does- they don't talk about it, and no one has reason to inquire

VA Description: Theodore has a soft, gentle voice, that is mid-low to low in pitch, masculine in nature. His emotions are often muted, although clearly present, and generally he can be quiet much of the time. Don't get it wrong though- he isn't shy. They are very capable of raising their voice when angry or empowered, although rarely do so. Please note, Theodore can sing, and a VA who can do that is preferred- please note this in your application.


  History: Simply known as Theodore, the folk-pop sensation took the local music scene in their hometown of Grand Rapids, MI, USA by storm. Known for a style of music that can only be described as gentle and easy to listen to, his sounds eventually expanded to wider audiences across North America. Most of their music, they've mentioned, is inspired by a fushion of typical pop with folk music from Georgia that they were introduced to through their parents. Now, Theodore is content holding small performances across the northern US, and spending much of his time at home with his cats.


A CLARIFICATION- WHEN I SAY GEORGIA, I MEAN GEORGIA IN EUROPE, NOT GEORGIA USA. The southern accent is appreciated, but not necessary!!!

VA Description: Amira has a mid to high voice, that can be either feminine or androgynous! While those are preferred, we're also willing to consider lower pitches as well. Amira is bright, happy, and constantly excited. Her every word acts to console, encourage, and embolden others as much as possible. This leads to having a very powerful, upbeat voice, that can't help but make you feel comfortable and hopeful. However, this comes at the cost of being slightly pushy and intruding sometimes.


  History: Amira Asura- an ultimate, yes, but not a particularly famous one. Her sport is one that is often forgotten, something they hope to remedy with interesting games. While it's universally agreed any team with them on it will probably win, she does her best to hold herself back and keep things interesting. Outside of the pool, she's seen as a bit of a mess- mildly forgetful despite her attention to detail, and overall not uber social.

VA Description: Echo's voice is masculine in nature, with mid-high tones. His voice is curious, with a light edge of wonder due to not seeing much of the world. He's very talkative, but generally is good at making things understandable to the average person- which is good news for anyone who has to listen.


  History: Echo is a researcher- confined to the lab much of the time, he doesn't often frequent the outside world. What the public does know, mostly, comes in the form of published papers, the occasional news article. They've worked on such projects as attempting to design a universal prosthetic limb, and developing surgical tools that lower risk of post-op infection. They work hard, and get things done- at 42, their name is on nearly 100 papers, and change all around the world.

VA Description: Ichiro's voice is mid to low masculine in nature. He is, vocally, the most mature of the cast- constantly calm and collected, with a slow and methodical way of speaking. On top of this, he has a tendency to purposefully slow down words for emphasis on top of his already delayed manner of speaking.


  History: Ichiro Sato is a man of immense wealth. Often called by the younger generation, "Mr. Moneybags", he inherited the Sato Gallery in Kyoto at only 23 years old, following the retirement of his parents. The already profitable establishment only continued to blossom under his ownership, to the point where it became one of the most frequented art facilities in the world. With the increased fame came immense amounts of money, on top of his existing fortune- not that he is one to complain. Recently, complaints have emerged that he refuses to retire and pass on the gallery to his children- although, how much of that is truth and how much is fiction is anyone's guess.

VA Description: Stuck-up and crabby are two words to describe Mayuli. While her voice is higher pitched and feminine, it’s laced with anger as well. Shes the kind of person who always speaks with an air of superiority, and often finds herself raising her voice.


  History: Fame comes easy, to Mayuli. While her talent revolves around science, her fame stems from her uber-popular daytime show, "cooking fancy". Quite the showwoman, it didn't take long from its release for the show to catapult to the top spot on daytime tv, particularly among stay-at-home parents. Mayuli fails, though, to connect to her audience- and is well known for a sharp temper and for not being relatable in any way. It doesn't impact her fame, though!

VA Description: Ophelia- the ever-excited, ever silly architect. Her voice is mid pitched, and can be feminine or androgynous. Every word of hers is filled with on-the-edge excitement, and she's someone who can and will go overboard with everything. While not explosively emotional, and in some ways muted, she is very good at being optimistic, which also reflects in her voice. In addition, she can also be silly at times- but that doesn't compromise the ability to be serious.


  History: An architect heavily inspired by greek architecture, Ophelia's been around the world a dozen times, designing structures that don't quite belong in this era. Mostly working for the rich and elite, she's become famous for trying to avoid damaging the natural landscape of her sites, while supporting neighbors of many of her clients. A well-liked ultimate, she is, in many ways, an exception to the rift forming between ultimates and society as a whole.

VA Description: Orville has a mid-low voice, that generally sounds apathetic and empty. His voice leans heavily masculine in nature. He has a very mature air to his tone, and can easily sound like a stern parent in some situations. Overall, his voice is kind and soft despite this.

History: Orville Martin has a reputation. Originating from France (although having long learned to drop the accent), he began his career as a small-time accountant for local businesses and shops. He was unusually adept with money, allowing many of these business to thrive even as their customer bases dwindled.   History: Have you ever not wanted to write an essay for school? For work? Well then, Sofia is your go-to girl! Known for nothing herself- largely because it's quite impossible to tell what exactly she has written. VA Description: Ulrikke is forever loyal, often leading to her lower pitch voice (femme preferred, masc possible) acting as an echo to those they trust. Ulrikke rarely voices their own thoughts, and when they do their voice does nothing to rise over others. Despite a quieter voice, they certainly have the ability to yell- sharp and bright over everything else, mostly single-word commands in short bursts.


  History: Longtime winner of various Mushing contests, perhaps what Ulrikke is best known for is her petcare routine videos, in which they extensively detail every step in taking care of one of the best sledding teams in the world. This is, ultimately, what pulled Ulrikke to fame, despite her skill in mushing. Her most watched video is one that talks about how she keeps every dog well-cared for until their death- perhaps her saddest video, but one that shows she's just a loyal to her dogs as they are to her.

VA Description: Zephyr's voice is androgynous, but we are open to any pitch/tone. Overall, they are friendly, if a bit overbearing at times. This often hides behind a shier tone, although they are reasonably talkative. Please note, friendly does NOT mean happy- and while Zephyr is welcoming and friendly, they do not express emotions particularly well, and more muted emotions are preferred in their voice- almost as if they are bored.


  History: Zephyr- broadcast throughout the pacific islands, they may be one of, if not the most famous meteorologist of all time. With hobbies that include hunting down storms and analyzing damage paths, their work impacts not only those preparing for storms, but also those who rely on post-storm aid to recover their lives. Outside of work, Zephyr's a pretty private person- but then again, they seem to work almost every minute of every day, so who knows when that is.
