Project Overview

A high school girl with a troubled home life meets the tormented Supreme Leader of the First Order. Can they find what they're looking for in each other?


I wrote the fanfiction, but now I want to bring it to life as an animatic! The story follows Kylo Ren (from Star Wars) and Natsuki (from Doki Doki Literature Club) in a romance that is 100% serious and not funny at all. It takes place after the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and before the events of DDLC, but it contains spoilers for both. There is some violence, but nothing that would warrant more than a PG-13 rating, and there is no sexual content.

Note that I intend to shorten and adapt many elements of the plot in order to make things easier to animate and give bigger roles to other characters. However, we will still follow this general story!


I am in the process of converting the script, and am currently looking for an artist (paid) to create the animatic, as well as voice actors to fill each of the individual roles. Natsuki and Kylo Ren will be the two biggest roles, but Monika, Sayori, Yuri, MC, General Hux, Supreme Leader Snoke, and Natsuki's father also appear as minor characters.


I plan on sharing the final product to YouTube, but I am okay with giving the source video to collaborators to do with as they please. In the case that I am unsuccessful in recruiting an artist, I would like to move forward with the project as an audio drama that could be picked up for an animatic at a later point.

  • Wrapping up Auditions

    Hello everyone! Just wanted to give a quick update since the deadline is tomorrow! Thank you all so much for auditioning! I’ve really been blown away by the turnout. We’ve been listening to all of the auditions as they’ve come in, and they’re really impressive. We’re hoping to have finalized our decisions for each of the roles by Sunday, June 3rd, so you should have heard something by then. I will also try to issue as much personal feedback as I can by that point, since we have to turn down so many viable candidates. Thanks again for auditioning! (And if you’re still on the fence, now’s the time to submit something! We’re still listening to everything!)

  • Role Changes + Project Updates

    Hello everyone! Just wanted to give a quick update on this project! First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who auditioned so far! This is my first time using this website, and I’m truly blown away by the talent! I still want to encourage others to submit their takes, so I can’t give much feedback yet, but I wanted to assure you all that I have listened to everything that has been sent in so far and that this project is still under works! Regarding the scope of the project, as work has started on the script, it has become obvious which sections should be cut. Effectively, chapter one of the fanfiction will not be in the final project. Because of this change, I have removed the roles of General Hux (which received zero auditions) and Supreme Leader Snoke (which received one), as they will no longer appear in the video. Lastly, I wanted to speak briefly on the animatic aspect! While I would like to work things down to a shorter length of time, I am still torn. I really want to express as much of the story as I can, and I want to make good use of all the wonderful voice talent I have access to. As such, I am tentatively estimating the full runtime to be between 3-4 minutes. Right now, it seems that the most likely path will be to divide the work between multiple artists. However, this is still under consideration and is up for negotiation once the artist(s) is/are chosen! Thanks for checking out this project, and if you haven’t submitted anything yet, give it a shot! Kylo does not wear a mask, so attempt to use his regular voice! From chapter 2, he has been de-aged to become a 19-year old, but I am still looking for a voice that is close to the movie character. However, if you want to capture his change in age, be my guest! Kylo is a very passionate character, and operates between the extremes of furious rage and flustered embarrassment in this fanfiction, so try to capture both of those! This story also heavily plays up his dark/emotional side, so feel free to exaggerate that part! Remember to try multiple takes/inflections for each sample line-- show your range and be creative!

Natsuki is a tsundere, so see if you can capture her anger as well as her sweet side! She operates between sass and sincere rage in this story, while also having moments where she opens up to Kylo. This will be a rough animatic that will serve to convey the story. While I do care about the art style itself, I understand how difficult animation is and am not looking for a detailed, tweened animation.

For your submission, I would like to see at least one example of an animatic or animation showcasing your ability to do so. I would also like to see a drawing of at least one of the characters in the style that you would use for the video. This is primarily a romance set in the DDLC universe, so light and fluffy is the way to go!

The listed payment is a base price that I am willing to pay, but once recruited I would be willing to discuss something more realistic based on the length of the final project. I will assist in editing audio depending on your preference, as I have experience with video editing-- just lacking in the art department! I am very invested in the success of this project, and will do whatever I can to support you.

This story does not feature any of Monika's darker, fourth-wall breaking side. Instead, I want to highlight her personality that attempts to protect the surface level harmony-- promoting an atmosphere of joy and welcoming while trying to smoothly navigate over any awkward situations that arise (which there are many due to Kylo's appearance). Natsuki's father is an awful, abusive man who ends up getting what he deserves. His voice needs to go from stern and hateful to whimpering and pitiful once the tables have turned. Sayori is super bubbly! I think the distinction between her and Monika is the sincerity behind this cheerfulness. She can be a little more teasing, fun, and light-hearted, because she wants to promote real joy rather than simply maintain the facade of harmony. That said, she is also frequently put down by others, and needs to be able to convey the feeling of a kid being caught doing something wrong. The main character plays less of a domineering/aggressive role than he probably does in most other Doki Doki projects, because Kylo's presence changes the dynamic of the group. I primarily want to capture his initial shyness upon being confronted with the insane personalities of the Literature Club, but also retain his snippy attitude when it comes to criticizing Sayori's every move. Snoke appears in a flashback in the first chapter to explain the plot. While he is typically quite smug, arrogant, and passionate in the movies, in this story he is more of a kind mentor to Kylo. So, kind of similar to the voice in the movies, but much more relaxed and pensive. Remember to try multiple takes/inflections for each sample line-- show your range and be creative!
