The Dreamside Chronicles - A Cucumber Quest Fandub
Project Overview
HELLO EVERYONE!!!
this is a casting call for a fandub of the webcomic "cucumber quest" by gigidigi!
this is also my first time directing a project, so please bear with me... (i may need some help directing a project of this magnitude.)
there are a lot of roles to fill, so please consider auditioning! if you don't get one of the bigger roles, that's okay! there's a lot of extras that need voices, too!
if the first two chapters of cucumber quest do well, then i'll put up another casting call for the next few chapters!
of course, this is unpaid because this is a fandub, but you will be credited with your social media links in the description of the youtube video i will upload!
it's highly recommended that you join this project's discord server here, as this is where we'll be working together if you make the cut!
RULES
- all auditionees must be thirteen or older to audition.
- please have a good/decent quality microphone! low quality audio will NOT be accepted!
- i can only edit so much background noise out of your lines, so please try to limit it.
- respect your cast members/crew or you will be kicked off of the project team.
- some characters have a headcanoned voice. i am open to original interpretation, but i would prefer auditions to be close to the headcanoned voice.
- familiarity with the plot of cucumber quest is preferred, but it's fine if you're unfamiliar with the plot. you can read cucumber quest online here: http://cucumber.gigidigi.com

"Cucumber, or Cuco, is the main character of Cucumber Quest, the son of Lord Cabbage and Bagel and the older brother of Almond. Although he's a descendant of the first Legendary Hero, he's not exactly the hero type, and his skills lay in casting magic spells instead of wielding a sword. "Noisemaster is one of two Disaster Masters assigned to bring chaos to the Melody Kingdom, the second being Mutemaster. Despite being only the second Disaster Master, he's a definite upgrade from Splashmaster and was much more difficult to defeat. He appears upbeat and self-assured on the surface but has a much more sinister side which only rarely comes out. Noisemaster's personality is very loud. He speaks in the same way that a DJ at a dance party would, which seems to be a relatively new habit. This irritates the Nightmare Knight. He acts as though everyone loves him, even when it's obvious that no one likes him in the slightest. However, his upbeat attitude is really only a mask for his true self, which is cold and scheming. "Thebestmaster, also known as the Forsaken Master or Besty for short, was created by Steve 'to be the best.' He was made for the purpose of causing fear to Dreamsiders. Unfortunately, he's very bad at actually achieving this goal. Even though he spent millennia sealed away in Glass Mountain, researching fears the entire time, he has no grasp on what's actually scary to anyone. He tries to invoke 'fear of flying' with paper airplanes, 'fear of loss' with a rigged video game, and more in the same pattern. He proves to be no threat to the protagonists for the duration of Chapter 4. Although he shares a naming convention with the Disaster Masters, it is unknown if he's actually considered one of them. He wasn't created by the Nightmare Knight, and he doesn't have a Disaster Stone."

"Quakemaster is the fifth disaster master working for the Nightmare Knight, and resides in the Crystal Kingdom. Quakemaster is known to have a weakness to water, more specifically rain. He also has the ability to inflict "his curse" upon others, slowly turning their hearts to stone. This seems to have been weakened and limited by his age... Quakemaster's personality is rather reserved for one of the stronger Disaster Masters, talking formally and carefully. Preferring to avoid conflict altogether, and only fighting when he needs to. He is shown to be rather uncaring, especially to the people of Basaltbury, and the only person he shows real affection towards is his boyfriend, Obsidian. In his prime, Quakemaster was a very powerful figure, but due to the rain that falls due to Nightmare Knight's interference, he has been severely weakened over time."

"Glitchmaster is one of the seven Disaster Masters that serves the Nightmare Knight. Her first appearance was at Interlude 2. It is unknown which Kingdom she lives in, but it is often assumed that she rules over the Space Kingdom due to her technological theme. Glitchmaster is able to affect the speech and vision of others around her, and teleport to different locations. She may also be able to change her shape and form to look like others, or possibly create holograms that have almost the exact likeness of others, as evidence when she created the red-eyed, starless Nightmare Knight during interlude 2. As the strongest of all 7 disaster masters, and being the closest in power when compared to the Nightmare Knight, she may have current unrevealed abilities."
