Project Overview
"Copacetic" is a narrative investigation game where you embody a ghost named Janice. You find yourself in a barely recognizable house, encountering three key characters: Larry, your husband; Grace, your daughter; and Margaret, your mother-in-law. Explore, investigate, and uncover the secrets of your past in an emotional story set in the 1970s. We are currently searching for four voice actors for the characters in the game: Grace (12 years old), Margaret (68 years old), Larry (42 years old), and Janice (41 years old).

Demo Scenario:
Mislead the player, making them suspect different characters of being the source of conflicts. Play an antagonistic hero. Uncover the psychological weight and influence of Janice on the family:

Janice is the protagonist of COPACETIC. She's a 41-year-old mother of a daughter, Grace, and married to Larry.Born in 1931.
Throughout the game, players will discover that Janice has died and lost her memory. The goal is to understand what happened by investigating and listening to conversations. By the end of the demo, players realize that Janice was a terrible mother, manipulative, narcissistic, who physically abused her daughter and emotionally harmed her husband. She openly gaslighted both Grace and Larry.
She died during a fight between Grace and herself. It was so violent that Larry decided to intervene by pushing Janice, causing her to fall down the stairs. She ran off the house in anger but suffered internal bleeding due to the fall. She ended up dying in a car accident after passing out.
After the accident, Larry realized he couldn't handle the situation by himself and called Margaret, his mother, to help him grieve and go through all the procedures.
While Janice was alive, she believed that her family must appear perfect to others, always striving for perfection and obsessing over appearances. She sought attention and perfection from others.

Larry is the husband of Janice, He's a 42 years old Male.Born in 1931.
After Janice's death:
Guilt eats away at him—the guilt of not being able to prevent it, of not intervening sooner. Larry is unaware of the hemorrhage caused by the fall, but he still feels partly responsible for his wife's death. He regrets not being able to protect his children more. Still "accustomed" to Janice's hold over him, he feels responsible for some of the negative aspects of their marriage and for his long-standing addiction to alcohol.
He is ashamed of having reached this point, of having had to ask his mother for help, and of not fulfilling his role as a father and husband "properly."
At the same time, Larry feels a sense of relief; he is freed from a burden, and neither he nor his children will be beaten again. He no longer risks losing his children, and he is gradually starting to live again. For him, who was violently manipulated by Janice, a certain weight has been lifted, and he can begin to regain his self-confidence.
Larry is mainly tormented by the sadness he feels. Already plunged into depression for several years, he had tended to let himself sink. Now, he dwells on the happy memories of him and his wife (often unconsciously altered and arranged to seem happier). He loves Janice sincerely and is deeply affected by her loss. He regrets a time that lasted too briefly.

Margaret is Janice's mother in law. She's 68 years old.Born in 1904.
Before Janice's death: Scorn (Anger) ,Sadness
After losing contact with her son, Margaret becomes increasingly worried, a concern that intensifies as the years go by. Her worry is primarily fueled by a distrust of Janice. Margaret doesn't fully grasp the extent of Janice's actions and behavior. At this point, she only knows that Janice is somewhat controlling but remains affectionate towards her son. She has suspicions but nothing concrete at the time. Her disdain for Janice grows gradually, and she can no longer reach her family at all. The absence of her son feeds into a growing anger towards Janice, which evolves into contempt. [.....etc....] Sadness: not seeing her family for a long time, feeling powerless.
After Janice's death: Hatred (Frustration) Guilt Relief (Indifference)

Grace is Janice's daughter, aged 12.Born in 1959.
Before Janice's death: Fear (confusion/intimidation), Love, Internal Conflict (anger/vulnerability).
Grace finds herself lost after her mother's disappearance. Despite being beaten and mistreated, she still loves her mother wholeheartedly and struggles to comprehend her own feelings. She loves her dad and grandmother and worries about them, especially her dad, who has alcohol problems.She constantly blames herself, thinking she did something wrong, and bears obvious emotional scars from her mother's abuse.
Despite everything she has gone through, she's still a little girl and acts like it.
After Janice's death: Mourning (anger), Guilt, Anxiety.
