Commonwealth Livestock - Settlement Creature Farming and Butchering (A Fallout 4 Mod)

Commonwealth Livestock - Settlement Creature Farming and Butchering (A Fallout 4 Mod)

Project Overview

Commonwealth Livestock is a mod for Fallout 4 that aims to expand the highly popular settlement building aspects of the game by allowing the player to buy, breed and slaughter various wasteland creatures. These new livestock features will be wrapped in a new questline based around a livestock supply rivalry for Choice Chops in Diamond City. The questline will bring new original characters into the world of Fallout 4 as well as returning characters from Fallout New Vegas. A detailed synopsis of the story and setting for this questline can be read below.

In the year 2281, a legendary individual known simply as the Courier assisted with a mysterious problem that plagued a brahmin ranch in Novac. The Courier's actions allowed the owners of the ranch Dusty McBride and his wife Alice to expand their small business into an impressive trading empire that now dominates the brahmin trade in the Mojave region. Now six years later in 2287 Dusty McBride and his wife have traveled to Diamond City with the intention of expanding their business into the Commonwealth. The arrival of the McBride family represents a threat to the aristocratic Codman family whose farms govern the brahmin trade in the Commonwealth region. Clarence Codman has chosen to hire the Marowski mob to ensure his family continues to govern the brahmin trade in the Commonwealth. The Sole Survivor may choose to enter this growing conflict between mobsters and ranchers, siding with either family and embarking on a journey that will ultimately determine the fate of the livestock trade in the Commonwealth.

The only requirements for those that wish to audition for these roles are that:

-Your microphone should be of a reasonably good quality.

-You are able to produce clean sounding audio.

- You are able to render audio to either WAV or MP3.

There are larger images available for each character on the development preview found here.

The different features of this mod will be gradually implemented into Fallout 4 on a staggered scale to allow for adequate time for testing and refinement. If you wish to see a detailed account and explanation of its various features you can view the full development list here.

Role assigned to: Staulwart

Frank ‘The Hammer’ Marroni is a ruthless gangster and figure of great importance in the Marowski mob. Marroni's lines should be read as tough and self-assured.

  • Beat it! <Aggressive>

    Pay up already! <Demanding>

  • Well, if it's gotta get bloody, so be it. <Dismissive>

Choice Chops Radio Commercial

Role assigned to: spacecampgirlfriend

This role is open to both genders and any style. It's just a short piece that begins the questline for the player. It would also be an extra bonus if you're able to make it sound like a vintage radio commercial. A 1950's commercial sound or cowboy western sound would be great for this.

  • Are you tired of scavenging the wasteland for something to eat? Well, come on down to Choice Chops in The Great Green Jewel of Diamond City, and we’ll get you something to eat! We've got all kinds of meats, from Bloodbug to Bloatfly, and Brahmin! It doesn’t matter what kind of meat it is, if we can kill it, we’ll cook it!

Ernest now spends his days helping to raise his adopted mirelurk family and worshiping the decaying corpse of his dead mirelurk mother he calls Ma, which he keeps in a shed behind his ruined house.

  • I sees her in the storms.

  • I likes looking after the youngins.

  • Ma, she's gone to the great swamp in the sky.

Role assigned to: fionaso

Jolene is a middle-aged vegetable trader and radstag rancher. She chose to leave her violent and abusive raider husband to start her own business in a shack on the side of the road. Jolene now finds tranquillity amongst her vegetable patch and tending to her radstag herd. Jolene is a character who was once very beautiful in her youth, but the beatings she received at the hands of her ex-husband has left her with both physical and emotional scars.

Jolene's lines can be read as either friendly or slightly hostile/dejected, so feel free to try different variations in tone.

  • Hey there. Welcome to Jolene's Roadside Ranch. Can I get you anything?

  • Radstags are real skittish, so you gotta be extra quiet around them.

Radstags are skittish, so just make sure you're quiet around them. < Alternative version>

  • In the end, I just decided I had to get away. I couldn't stand the beatings anymore.

Well, if you really want to know. I just decided I had to get away. I couldn't stand the goddamn beatings anymore.< Alternative version>
