Project Overview

Intro

Hello everyone we're back with another casting call for the collector series. For those who are new to the project, The Collector is an anthological podcast series which explores the themes of horror, myths and urban legends. So come and join us into the abyss as we descend into the depths of humanities sins.

DEADLINES AND AUDITIONS

The deadline for auditions is May 22nd. We’ll notify the voice actors who have been cast in roles on the 22nd depending on the quantity of auditions.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We communicate primarily through Discord. If you are unfamiliar with this application, you can still audition, however, we strongly recommend participation through Discord so that you can collaborate with your fellow voice actors.

WHAT WE ASK OF YOU

First, have fun! We take pride in bringing together talents in different mediums to create something we’re proud of, but none of it means anything if the people involved aren't passionate about their craft.

Please submit clean recordings on prosumer mics (no air conditioners in the background, no fans -- we don't mind performing noise reduction on your files, however too much clean-up reduces the quality of your voice). And speaking of clean-up -- please let us handle the post-production. Don't add effects to your lines -- leave that to us.

Feel free to cut your lines to your best/favourite takes. Three is the gold standard. We have a few voice actors that would rather give us more takes, and that's okay, too. However please at least remove the takes you don't want to be featured on the podcast.

Episode synopsis

Listen in to a rare excerpt of a hidden radio station, which at first appears mundane, but which sits in pride of place within the collection for its connection to forces unknown. So join us as we tune in to the final interview of a Mr David Graceland, who's dark deeds bring him to the attention of a wider audience than he could ever know...

David Graceland a famous tv actor who is trying to make his big debut in the film industry. Has so many skeletons in his closet that he has lost track. Is seen as egotistical and narcissistic, perhaps his most successful role as an actor is the kind face he hides behind.

  • Really had to think about that one though! A very early project, I’ve always enjoyed a good court room drama. You know, my father was a lawyer!

  • What’re you trying to insinuate here? You’ve been inferring a lot of things and you shouldn’t make those jokes. People could take them seriously. I’m up for a bit of good-natured fun in an interview but this’ just grossly inappropriate. In fact, I almost feel inclined to hang up…

  • Oh my god. I- I- theres so much i needed to, I can’t be!  And my mother. She’s all alone…I left her all alone…

Co-host to dead air. Nick is the more professional host of the two, he manages Mike's chaotic energy while keeping the show on track. Visually he would be portrayed as a typical 90’s radio presenter, with sunglasses that hide his eyes.

  • Welcome back folks, once again that last request was ‘graham of the grave’ with their new hit, ‘Lizard fever!’, a funky fresh beat from a cold-blooded crew! how’re we doing on those calls Mike?

  • Next one’s a real doozy, are you ready?

  • (Shouting) WE’VE DONE COMPLETE THE LINE DAVE!!!

Co-host to dead air. The wild card with a quirky personality. Nick carries the show while brings the chaos with his violently sarcastic comments and playfully unprofessional approach. Just like Nick, he would Visually be portrayed as a typical 90’s radio presenter, with sunglasses that hide his eyes.

  • You’ve reached Nick and Mike, let the phone-in begin!

  • Keep it PG now

  • Well folks! We’ve had a lot of fun ladies and gentlemen, but we’re goanna have to let Dave here go soon! He can’t stick around forever!
