Project Overview

"Clover's Soliloquy: An Undertale Yellow Epilogue" is an upcoming animation project that's aiming to adapt and expand on the True Pacifist Ending of the Undertale fan game, Undertale Yellow. Told from the perspective of the game's justice-seeking, peacemaking main protagonist, Clover, the story goes through their last moments on a lonely, tree-shaded battlement in New Home. As the world fades away, Clover takes the chance to reflect on how they ended up where they did. At the same time, they must wrestle with a new wave of memories that have materialized, visions of worlds where justice was defined another way and events played out differently. How does one determine if their actions in life were really the right ones? Can one come to terms with their misdeeds, acts once seen as justified, if they don't even remember doing them?

Up to this point, I've been the sole writer and artist working on "Clover's Soliloquy," but now it's reached a stage where it's time to bring others aboard. The project is in need of a supporting voice cast to bring to life the monsters that Clover has met, seen, or heard about along the way! Most characters who need voices don't have too many lines, typically in the two to three range, but certain characters will have more, something that will be indicated in character descriptions.

Moreover, I will add that most characters don't have definitive accents unless specified. As a baseline, any American, English, Canadian, etc. accent will work well; however, that doesn't mean something other than those couldn't work!

Requirements:
- a Discord account for communication

- a high-quality microphone with minimal background noise

If you're considering auditioning or are brought aboard the project, the two things I would like to reinforce are: contact is key and deadlines are flexible. Good communication can be the foundation of a successful project. If there's anything you need while working on "Clover Soliloquy" or if you have an idea for how a line's delivery could be changed in the script to be more effective, I'm more than happy to hear your concerns or feedback! Regarding deadlines, I completely understand if it takes a while to get things recorded and sent in; so, take your time getting things sent in and have fun with it! The last thing I'd want is anyone to have disliked their time working on the project, even if it was for a short amount of time.

    Howdy!
    After a few days of deliberation, I'm proud to announce the cast for Clover's Soliloquy! Before I address that, I'd like to make one thing clear. There was an immense amount of talent across the board, and it was a very tough choice when it came to picking people for roles. Believe me, if I could find a way to cram everyone who auditioned into this project, I would. There may be more to come in the future, maybe some one-line characters down the road, but that's yet to be seen. Though, what I said before still stands: there is most definitely a major role opening up. So, be sure to keep an eye out for updates here within the next month or so!

  • Clover's Soliloquy Update - Confirming Roles

    Howdy!
    As of tonight, the deadline for submissions for the Clover's Soliloquy Casting Call was reached, with an astonishing 63 submissions no less! I've been hard at work on the project, and the next few days will be focused on confirming roles. In the upcoming three to four days, I will be messaging people on Discord regarding parts they've gotten. I'll also be sure to assign roles on the page here on Casting Call Club as well, accompanied by another update like this one.
    If you didn't get a part, don't be discouraged! There may or may not be another vocal role opening up down the road in a separate post, one with a more primary role in the story; however, that is another month or two away. I will also note that if you did get a part in the supporting cast, you are more than welcome to audition for this other role as well! Either way, there will be an update posted to this page with a link to the listing.
    Well, without further ado, the time for assigning roles has begun, and I'll be in contact with some of you very soon!

A lonely and isolated vampiric monster who decided he wanted a life away from the world in the aftermath of a near-death experience with a human who came through the Underground, ultimately settling to reside alone in the Dark Ruins. Though he monologues about wanting to live in isolation and solitude, it's apparent that deep down he wants a friend.

Direction: Dalv's voice is mid to mid-high in pitch and radiates melancholy and doubt, but that veneer can fade into something much more amicable when he finds someone that he can call a friend. He does try to put on a brave face but more often than not trips over his own words.

An avian monster who has thrived as an up-and-coming member of the Royal Guard, albeit one on probation due to her shortcomings within the role. She’s a real go-getter with a can-do attitude and a proficiency for building elaborate puzzles, more than willing to see the best in people and come to the defense of her friends, but it is quite possible her kindness could be a fault in the wrong circumstances, leaving her oblivious and unintentionally ignorant at times. In those cases, she’s proven herself more than willing to put her life on the line to save others and even stop “monsters” of a different kind.

Direction: Martlet’s voice is higher pitched. Her tone of voice is positive for the most part and gives off a general energy of eagerness to do her best and help others. However, she will drop that tone in times of self-doubt or when the situation calls for something more serious.

Note: Martlet will have more lines than other characters.

A nerdy star-headed monster with a fascination for Wild West culture, a tendency to pronounce “duel” as “dual,” and a desire to keep those around him in upbeat spirits despite their grim situation. To do so, he’s decided to don the “North Star” persona, acting as the brave, friendly, and justice-seeking sheriff of the Dunes region in the Underground, keeping it safe alongside his posse: “The Feisty Five.” Though, how much crime there is remains unclear as the majority of what they’ve stopped was for show and entertainment. Even in his confident sheriff persona, it’s clear he seeks validation from others that what he’s doing is right, but that doesn’t mean he can’t get swept up in the drama and theatrics of his role, especially in his dedication to raise the spirits of his childhood best friend: Ceroba. Whether he’s regular old Starlo or brave Sheriff “North Star,” he consistently has the best intentions and a heart of gold to boot.

Direction: As “North Star,” his voice is in the mid to low pitch range with a gravelly but upbeat quality to it, and it should sound like he’s trying to do a stereotypical Western accent or a Clint Eastwood impression. In his normal voice, Starlo still maintains some of the accent, but his voice is overall much softer and retains little of that gravel.

Note: Starlo will have more lines than other characters.

A kitsune-type monster who’s nice enough but keeps to herself for the most part after the death of her husband, Chujin, and the apparent loss of her daughter, Kanako. More often than not, you’ll either find in her the Wild East’s saloon or hanging around her childhood best friend and sheriff of the Dunes, Starlo. She really tries to humor her friend in his attempts to cheer her up, but despite both of their best efforts, it’s abundantly clear that the emotional scars relating to the loss of her family still fester under the surface. However, for the time being, she’s kept two things concealed: the mistake she made that led to her daughter’s condition and how far is she willing to go to mend that wound.

Direction: Ceroba’s voice is in the mid pitch range and keeps a calm and collected tone for the most part. While she is able to maintain that tone and roll with the punches in most situations, pushing her enough with antics or emotional stress can make her verbal delivery a lot more uncertain or fiery in nature.

Note: Ceroba will have the most lines out of all the listed characters.

A robot with the initial function of defending monsterkind in the event of attacks by humanity but has found himself reduced to being the primary bodyguard of the Underground’s Steamworks. In the times where he’s had to act, he’s proven himself not only extremely persistent but also comically gullible, with that latter trait only being circumvented on one unfortunate occasion. In his isolation, he’s developed not only a short-fused, profanity-prone personality but also sentience and a longing for both his creator, Chujin, to return and for companionship in general.

Direction: Axis’s voice is in the mid to high pitch range and is very expressive for a robot. Most times, his tone reflects his overconfidence in his own efficiency, sometimes to the point where he doesn’t read into basic sarcasm or distractions. In the times he is angry, he’s prone to using vulgar language, but its most often censored to a degree by a built-in filter.

A fox-like monster who had a knack for inventing, helping others, and harboring an extreme distrust for humanity. In the aftermath of an attack by a human that threatened the life of his daughter, Kanako, he dedicated his life to finding a way to protect monsters from humans, whether that be machines or life-altering serums, a mission that would take the good-natured father down a dark path. In the end, it was that latter work and a dash of experimenting on himself that did him in. Even though he acknowledged that science can come at the ultimate cost of a life, it didn’t stop him in his last moments from asking his wife, Ceroba, to continue the very work that destroyed his own. Little did he know it might cost his daughter’s life too.

Direction: Chujin’s voice is mid to high in pitch and should be fairly soft in tone, primarily as a reflection of his innate caring and helpful nature. The closer he grew to his death, the more that his voice took on an unsteady, shaky cadence. Whether he be in the best or worst of health, his devotion and confidence in his work was apparent in how he talked about it.

A fox-like monster and the young daughter of Chujin and Ceroba Ketsukane. With an outgoing and kind personality, it wasn’t hard for her to make close friends in a short amount of time, with one friend risking his life to save her not long after they first met. Like her father, she wanted to do what would be best for other monsters, seeing them end up both happy and safe, and despite her age, she was more willing to put her life on the line to do so.

Direction: Kanako’s voice is high in pitch and should reflect both her innocence and naivety. Just like her father, she’s headstrong, and it often leads to her sounding sassy when challenged.

The long-standing king of the monsters who reside in the Underground, a soul with a kind heart that was turned to a spirit of reluctant vengeance by grief. Over the years, he’s seen several humans fall into the Underground, and with his decree that they must die, he has nearly amassed all of the necessary souls to break the barrier sealing monsterkind in their prison. In his times of waiting, he spends his time tending his flower garden and longing for the times when his family was whole.

Direction: Asgore’s voice is lower in pitch and has a gruffness to it. His kindness and softer nature are apparent in his vocal inflections; however, he is prepared to cast it aside in a situation that calls for it, being able to take on a gravellier voice.
