Chronicle of Bolas: The Twins
Project Overview
As Wizards of the Coast continues to release their weekly Magic Story updates, it is our goal on the Voice of All podcast to bring these stories to life through audio.
This week a new story begins. We follow two twin sister as they explore a sacred mountain and hear a mythic tale about the birth of the Elder Dragons. You can check out this week's story here:

As a general casting note, I do not typically have any voice requirements in mind for characters. I would much rather hear your interpretations and choose from among them.

Twin of Baishya. Naiva is brash and bold, a competent hunter, and very reliable. She accompanies her sister on her trek up a sacred mountain. Despite her snide remarks, she cares deeply for Baishya and wants to keep her safe.
Naiva is a major character in these Chronicle of Bolas stories. Should you take this role, you will be asked to reprise it over the next few weeks.
"Someone has to keep you safe when you hear voices telling you to climb sacred mountains that are off limits to ordinary people . . ."
"We are not leaving meat behind. Not with dragons so close."
"Grandmother and the camp are down there!" [panicked]
Twin of Naiva, Baishya is quiet, shy, and absentminded. She is also a whisperer, a magic wielder in her tribe who can speak with spirits. Though magic is forbidden by the dragons who now rule their lands, she is determined to continue the tradition and learn all she can.
Baishya is a major character in these Chronicle of Bolas stories. Should you take this role, you will be asked to reprise it over the next few weeks.
"You're too impatient. My vision led me right here, I'm sure of it."
"No! Don't be stupid. The windfolk came to warn us, not to hurt us."
That's why we have to go to Ugin's grave. We must find out what this vision portends."
Grandmother Yasova, formerly Yasova Dragonclaw, was a khan, a leader of the Temur clan on Tarkir. Nicol Bolas used her to help kill Ugin. When this failed, the dragons grew more powerful and numerous, and she was forced to surrender to the Dragonlord Atarka. 18 years later, she now leads a nomadic group of Temur, trying to live in peace. The visions of today's story, however, will put her back in the spotlight.
Yasova is a major character in these Chronicle of Bolas stories. Should you take this role, you will be asked to reprise it over the next few weeks.
"Naiva, what do you have there?" [nye-vah]
"I am Yasova, First Mother of this hunting band. Do you have a name, honored broodling?"
"Make ready to move. The injured who cannot move must remain here with supplies until we can return for them."
Arcades Sabboth is the first born elder dragon. This scene captures his first moments of life. Very little is known about Arcades, but he appears to be very interested in order and structure. The only really known fact about him otherwise is that he will be a future victor in the Elder Dragon Wars.
Arcades, being an Elder Dragon, is a major character in Magic lore. Though these are his only lines, he may appear again in future stories. Should he do so, you will be asked to reprise the role.
"Arcades Sabboth." [As the first born dragon, he gets to name himself.]
"Such a lot of trees everywhere around our perch. And look, there are all sorts of animals abounding here, some on four feet and some on two. Some are wild, and some have tamed themselves. They must all have names, just as we do. What is that assemblage of structures over by the river? It looks very orderly and interesting."
Chromium Rhuell is a metallic dragon who is very curious by nature. He was the main character of several comics in the 90s wherein he typically worked to save humans and fight evil. For more information, check out this article: https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Chromium_Rhuell

"I am Chromium Rhuell. How interesting. What does this all mean?"
"Ah! What a pleasant heat!" [stretching his wings over the warmth of a volcano]
"More egg-stones falling! Cousins!" [excited to meet new dragons!]
Palladia-Mors is a very short-tempered elder dragon. Quick to anger and quick to fight, she featured as a villain in several comics in the 90s. You can find out more about her here: https://mtg.gamepedia.com/Palladia-Mors

"These two were too weak to wake up. Good riddance." [in reference to two other dragon eggs which broke before hatching]
"More weak, useless ones. I'm going hunting." [In reference to two other eggs, smaller but whole]
