Project Overview
Children of Destiny: Cataclysm is an audio drama series adapted from a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I DM'd several years ago now.
Taking place in the re:INVENT Universe, this story is told on an alternate Earth and follows the story of four heroes and their allies trying to uncover the secrets of Gemstone Industries and their sinister plans for the future of Dustria City.
This world takes a page from comic book stories, mixing together science fiction and fantasy elements in ways that make the story embrace the tropes and elements of both genres.
This pilot episode will be used as material for my M.F.A. Thesis project of teaching an Audio Drama class in the Spring of 2025. Students in the class will have the option to edit together their own version of the episode as part of a project for the class.
I will also be writing a full 12 episode season to pursue after this project, but the current commitment would just be recording dialogue for the pilot episode. The later full season would be paid and actors cast for this would be offered their roles again for the full project.
An extra note for anyone auditioning for the roles which require combat efforts, it is entirely optional to include those for the audition, but if you are comfortable doing so, please feel free!

Lead Role: 52 lines
About: Sevrica Agrivar (sev-RIH-cuh uh-GREYE-ver), female elf, around 150 years old. She is a bounty hunter working temporarily for C.A.D.E.N.C.E. She is seeking out her former partner who killed her mentor, and this singular motivation often leads to hasty and rash decision making.
Personality: She is skilled in battle and confident in her abilities, and has little patience for people who run their mouth.
Voice: Mid-to-low tone, no specific accent required, role requires combat efforts

[Inquisitive, she has stumbled upon a mysterious robot] It’s freaking huge. What does this say on the arm? ‘Gemstone Industries.’ Well shit, looks like the Director was right about them, depending on what this thing does. Oh, there’s more on the chest… ‘QUARTZ-Bot Lambda?’ Weird. At least it doesn’t seem to have any power right now. I should tell the others about this. See you in a bit, tin can.
[Mid-battle, annoyed at being asked a ridiculous question] What does it look like? It’s a giant damn robot!
Lead Role: 46 lines
About: NaVita Vega (nuh-VEE-tuh VEY-guh), female human, early 20's. She is a cleric of Vitas (VEE-tahs), a goddess of light. She is working for C.A.D.E.N.C.E. as part of her Cleric mission to gain real-life training in healing those in need. She has a strong desire to help those in need, and that often pulls her in several directions.
Personality: She is somewhat timid and anxious, but always willing to support others if it helps her prove herself. She has a tendency to play the role of peacemaker.

Lead Role: 38 lines
About: Reaper, male orc, age unknown. He is the soul of a warlock, bound to a magic suit of armor, serving an unknown entity known as "The Benefactor". He is working for C.A.D.E.N.C.E. to clear a debt which was being hung over him by Director Danforth Holland. He seeks to be free of both of these constraints, and will do anything necessary to do so, no matter who gets hurt in the process.
Personality: He is selfish and aggressive, with little patience for anything that doesn't immediately entertain him. He is often used as the muscle of a group, which suits him just fine, as long as nobody questions his methods.

About: Wendy Rhodes, female human, mid 20's. She is a revenant hunting down the man who killed her. She has travelled half the world to find this man and exact her revenge, but seeks help to ensure that she will succeed.
Personality: She keeps her emotions reigned in, but seeks companionship in every interaction. She is not one to ask questions about the motive or method of others, only caring about if it lines up with her own goals.

About: John Winslow, male shifter, late 20's. He is a smuggler working on the crew of the Envious Dream. He first and foremost prioritizes the safety and reputation of his fellow smugglers, and acts as a big brother to a lot of the crew.
Personality: He is loyal to a fault and follows orders without question most of the time. Level-headed and focused on preservation, he is often mistaken for a coward.

About: Mike Walsh, male shifter, late 20's. He is a smuggler working on the crew of the Envious Dream. He has a tendency to play the optimist of any situation, providing lightheartedness for his fellow smugglers.
Personality: He is kind and fun-loving, often mistaken for a fool because of this. But deep down, he holds a connection for his friends that he will do anything to protect.

About: QUARTZ-Bot Lambda is a combat automaton fitted with artificial intelligence. Lambda is an early model of QUARTZ-Bot created by Gemstone Industries, and sent on a mysterious mission to the mainland which they are returning from.
Personality: Analytical and intimidating, Lambda is an automaton designed for combat, and it almost seems at times as though they enjoy being in the midst of battle.

About: Danforth Holland, male human, late 50's. He is the director of C.A.D.E.N.C.E., a global security organization which uses less-than-honorable tactics to ensure the safety of the general public. He is a man of many secrets, and doesn't hesitate to use an individual's connections and desires to get what he wants from them.
Personality: Distant and professional, Director Holland purposefully remains detached from those who work for him. He finds this is the best way to motivate efficiency from field agents, especially less-than-willing ones.

[Adding extra incentive for the field agents] You are to retrieve Agent Wu at all costs, then your debts to C.A.D.E.N.C.E. will be paid. Good luck.
[Delivering a secret briefing with extra gravity to it] NaVita Vega; your independent mission is as follows. The target is Adam Dal. Human male, 34, average build, and a scar along the left side of his face.
Minor Role: 4 lines
About: The Benefactor is a mysterious entity that claims to have existed since the beginning of time. Nobody knows his true motives, but he grants Reaper his power in order to collect the souls of the living.
Personality: Manipulative and mysterious, the Benefactor takes joy in backing people into corners to accept the terms of his deals.

About: Captain Robert Anais, male human, mid 60's. He is the captain of The Envious Dream, a smuggler ship. He has lived enough to fill many lifetimes, but still maintains the empathy of a young man. He is always willing to help those who have helped him and his before.
Personality: Soft, but not lacking authority. Captain Robert knows through experience that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but he will protect his crew as if they were his own grandchildren if needed.
