CAPTIVATED EP. 4 - Male, Irish voice actor wanted

Project Overview

Short version

Hi!

We are producing a series of short films, designed to look like a video-game, called "CAPTIVATED". Our first three episodes are already out, and for "season finale", we need an actor to perform as a previously unknown character, who will only appear in this episode. Your Irish accent should sound authentic and discernable as such, but shouldn't be too strong.

Recording sessions for episode 4 are scheduled to take place February/March.

It is highly recommended to watch episode 3 to understand the whole concept of our show.

Payment will be transferred after the recording session early next year!

Long version

Hey there!

I'm Moritz, the Creator, Writer and Director of "CAPTIVATED", a web-series published on YouTube, which is designed to look like a fictional 1st-person video-game.

We have already published episodes 1, 2 and 3 - for the finale of season 1, we need an actor to perform as a previously unknown character, who will only appear in this episode.

Your character is going to appear in a flashback scene, which takes place in Ireland (Howth, to be exact), where you debrief the Protagonist via phone, as he just finished his previous mission there.

Recording sessions for episode 4 are scheduled to take place February/March.

I really recommend watching episode 3, so you get a good impression of our concept and world.

Payment will be transferred after the recording session early next year!

Latest Updates

  • Update about the cast of CAPTIVATED

Hey everyone! Thank you all so very much for auditioning for the role of the new, Irish character who's going to be introduced in episode 4 of CAPTIVATED. Now, since we have reached the deadline for auditioning today, you might be wondering, when the final decision is going to be made in regards of who gets the part in the end. First off: It's going to take us a bit more time to make that decision than previously anticipated. In the past few weeks, we have been rewriting a large part of the story, since our first cut of the episode didn't meet our expectations in terms of storytelling and quality, so we are going to reshoot about ¾ of the episode, and that happens in about four weeks. There are several reasons as to why we are holding off of casting decisions right now: We are probably going to need some more voice actors for some minor roles, so there will probably be another casting call by the end of February for those. Also, since we've been rewriting the episode, we still have some more figuring out do to when it comes to some characters; the role you auditioned for as well. So what does this mean for you? Well, first and foremost it means that you'll unfortunately have to wait a bit longer than even we expected for the final casting decision. Also, and this might come in rather handy for you: Since you've already auditioned and I know what you sound like, I might approach some of you individually by the end of February and offer you another role, even though we might not have selected you for the role you auditioned for in this particular casting call. This might sound like some of the typical PR/marketing hogwash big companies spout off all the time, but we are really trying to achieve the best possible episode for our season finale, and that also means scrapping a large part of the whole thing and doing it again, and that takes time. But we of course – again – really appreciate that all of you auditioned, and we will have a decision ready for you in a few weeks time! If you have any questions about the project, your audition or the role you auditioned for, please feel free to ask! Best regards, Moritz

The Protagonist just completed his mission in Dublin, so you are debriefing him via phone. He was sent to get a copy of a certain book, which contains valuable information hidden inside, the Protagonist shouldn't know about.

You've known him for a long time, so you behave relatively friendly (you are only associates though, not friends). Your Irish accent should be discernable, but not too strong.
The character you are voicing can not be seen during this episode, only heard over the phone.

  • Boss called. He's got a new job for you.

  • Do you really think we would've sent you all the way to Dublin if it was that easy? (Prot. asks, why he couldn't just have bought the book in a store)

  • Meet me at Connolly Station. And hurry, your flight leaves tonight.
