Project Overview
Hey Buddies! Welcome to our Camp Buddy AU. In this universe, every character's gender is switched. This yuri visual novel includes our main character, Katsuko (Keitaro) Nagame, spending her summer in a girl scout themed summer camp. Accompanied with her best friend Hisa (Hiro) Akiba, the two meet a group of very characterized individuals who the two need to share their cabin with - Heather (Hunter) Springfield, Natsuki (Natsumi) Hamasaki, and Yoshiki (Yoichi) Yukimura. Of course, with friends come enemies like Taiga, Edelyn, and Lea. With so many cute girls around, how could Katsuko not try to get together with one of them?
This project has sexual themes and scenes with some characters! If you're uncomfortable with these topics, please read in each character's bio to see if they have a sex scene.
We won't be earning profit off of this project.

Katsuko Nagame is the spunky, cheerful, nineteen-year-old main protagonist cliche of a character. She often spent time with her childhood best friend, Hisa Akiba, over the years but lately, they haven't spent time together. Hisa signed them both up for this camp in hopes to become close again. Katsuko has a newly found passion for photography since she got a camera for her birthday last year. Most characters, expect Taiga, quickly grew a liking to Katsuko. This made Taiga grow an extreme hatred for our protagonist who just wants to be friends with her. She often writes in her journal at the end of every day. Her being the protagonist to a visual novel, you can't give Katsuko much detail on her personality since it depends on the route you choose to take.
We're looking for a somewhat confident, somewhat soft, and a mostly cheerful voice to fit our main protagonist.
This character has sexual scenes. If you're uncomfortable with performing these scenes, we suggest auditioning for a character who doesn't have any sexual references.
Sounds like you're hungry...it's alright! I have just the thing! Hisa gave this to me, but you can have it~. Hisa's just a bit more straightforward than most. She doesn't think about what's coming out of her mouth...but she's a nice person too! In fact, I've been friends with her for as long as I can remember!
(narrating) Yoshiki and I went into the water near the rocks and splashed ourselves clean, erasing any trace of what we just did. While washing ourselves off, I couldn't feel my knees after what we had just done.
Hisa was really angry with Yoshiki ...I've never seen her explode like that before. At least Heather was able to calm her down... I know everyone was worried about me, but it really isn't Yoshiki's fault. Though I wonder if what they said about Taiga could be true. I admit that I can't think of anyone else who would have a motive.
Hisa is the main character's best friend since kindergarten. She's a bubbly and happy nineteen-year-old, and really likes both eating and making different types of food! She can be possessive of Katsuko at times, and gets a little jealous when Katsuko spends more time with other campers, but is all around a great and long-lasting friend to Katsuko. She also tends to pick fights with Yoshiki but they slowly grow from small arguments to fun play fighting, including teasing and name-calling overtime. She gets along great with other campers, but has no filter and always speaks her mind. She also isn't the smartest character the game, but makes up for it with lots of personality! She may complain a bit as well over things she doesn't like but always looks in an optimistic view.
We're looking for a happy and energetic, but with a slight whine (especially when she gets a bit jealous) voice for this character. The pitch is however you see this character in your mind.
This character has sexual scenes. If you're uncomfortable with performing these scenes, we suggest auditioning for a character who doesn't have any sexual references.
Don't worry, there's still plenty of food on the table. Oh! And I got you this chocolate bar! It's the last one left! It must be really good!
Heather's right, Wolfgirl. As much as I wanna hit those bastards too, Katsuko would never forgive us if she finds out. Plus, it would be really suspicious if Taiga goes confessing to the scoutmasters with a bloody face.
Oh! Good idea, Wolfgirl! If we do it tonight while they're sleeping, there won't be anyone inside the office!
What? Why should I apologize? I didn't do anything wrong to her. You're just too kind, Katsuko! [laugh]
The name really says it all. She's FABULOUS. Nobody is more trendy and up to date on skin care routines than Edelyn. She likes gossiping more than Gossip Girl and has all the other characters mentally categorized from Dope to Nope. She is one of Taiga's friends and she's one of the main antagonists of the series, although it's seen that she isn't actually all that bad. Edelyn holds a soft spot for Taiga and trusts Taiga's decisions and everything she says. Taiga is like her savior standing up for Edelyn after she was bullied, and she relies on her for both protection and friendship.
We're looking for a very prominent, a bit high pitched, and dramatic voice that's a stereotypical "gay man"'s voice.
HOW DARE YOU STEAL FROM TAIGA! You're not just a fake idiot, but a thief as well! Ugh! Just looking at you gets me so irritated!
Ugh~ I wonder why our bathroom suddenly ran out of water? Just when I needed to freshen up my face! Ugh! I feel so dirty!

Lea is the other best friend of the main antagonist, Taiga, and she's very technical and intelligent. Her science and math grades are through the roof and it shows. She's the typical nerd and was picked on for this until Taiga came along and stood up for her. After that, Lea and Edelyn became joint at the hip to Taiga, and although she's shown to be nice at times. Lea is still one of the main antagonists of the series.
We're looking for a stereotypical geeky voice; perhaps slightly nasally.
It's a wrong decision you've made, given the circumstance that we've got you outnumbered.
We've been instructed to patiently wait here for her. Based on my estimate, she'll arrive in thirteen minutes!
Uh...My full name is Leanne Kurosawa. I despise my full name, so just call me Lea. More importantly, my I.Q. is rated at a staggering 133! Only 2 percent of the world population is gifted with such a high quotient.
Yoshi is the primary scoutmaster of Camp Buddy and she tends to start talking and never stops; usually going on about being a scout. She's very dedicated to her work and truly loves being a scoutmaster, despite some of her past mistakes that tarnished the camp's name. Yoshi tries hard to do her best and make her boss and the campers happy, even denying the boss's order on occasion for what she thinks is better for the campers. She really loves her campers and only wishes to be the best for them, although sometimes she feels like she's not really achieving those goals.
We're looking for a mature, dedicated voice. Nice and gentle, but also 'the main ring leader' tone.
Well spoken, Natsuki! Here at Camp Buddy, a scout should never be neglected! You two are part of our family now! All scouts must be united in any situation they may face! No one should leave a buddy behind! I look forward to each and everyone cooperating and becoming one with each other no matter what.
Attention, everyone! There's been a change in plans. Our trailblazing and scouting activities have been canceled for today. I'm sorry everyone, but this is an urgent matter. I hope you all understand.
But they're good girls! They won't be anything like the previous ones! I swear! If you could just give me one last chance. Please. They are really different this time!
Yaoi is the only male character in the series (not including Yoshiki's dog) and is one of the scoutmasters. He's the son of the main scoutmaster and owner of Camp Buddy, Gora Nomoru, and is very patient and kind with the campers; always willing to lend a helping hand. However, he happens to have some.. "interesting" hobbies. He really enjoys yuri and goes so far to ship and fantasize about his campers together and needs to be calmed down once in his state of euphoria. Despite this, he's a very dependable and good guy once you get past his odd hobbies.
We're looking for a kind voice that patient and kind, but also can switch into a quick-paced, high pitched, and excited voice that's going "kya!" all over the place.
They were excited to see what their scoutmasters were dressed up as, so I thought I'd show them! - A bunch of alcoholics!
Oooh! What do we have here!? Suspicious behavior..hiding in an unusual spot? You two MUST be on a SECRET DATE!
KYAAAA! What a sight! The strength given by the power of love! You were able to carry Katsuko without breaking a sweat! Please carry her in your arms once again, just like a damsel in distress! Kyaaa!
Alright, fine! But I have to say, Gramps here has a rockin' bod too! No doubt she has the biggest toddies [todd-e-s] around here!
Gah! I'm so sorry, Yoshi! I have a towel here.. p-please let me clean that up for you! I'm sorry! It will never happen again!
You know you couldn't have done anything, Yoshi. Gramps has been keeping his eyes on you this whole time. Besides, I think we could still stall Gramps for a little while longer. There's a reason I didn't take his tent down just yet.
WHAT!? NO! And stop calling me Gramps, you.. you... UGH! Does it look like I'm having fun?! I'm being called names by this juvenile!

Taiga looks really angry, Seto. Maybe we should get out of here and avoid causing any more trouble.

There are a few extras in this project! Most of these extra characters are females, although we do need some males. If anyone has to leave the project, we'd go to the extras to find a replacement.

Our concept artist won't be left empty-handed, as we have a slideshow with noted details and photos to show the discussed ideas for each character. The concept art doesn't need to be fully colored or shaded.

You can't just have a blank background, so that's when the background artist comes into play! These backgrounds don't need much heavy detail (since they will be blurred) but noticeable and dramatic detailing so when blurred you could still tell what the background is.
