Fader Studios' Broadcast From The Backroom- Season One
Project Overview
This is a new page for an existing project. The previous project page was accidentally closed, and we have created this one to continue development and add the additional roles we are currently looking for. Broadcast From the Backroom is a supernatural comedy-horror series about five café workers who start an after-hours podcast from a forgotten radio booth hidden beneath their workplace. What begins as chaotic conversations and harmless fun quickly descends into horror when an intelligent entity lurking within the Backroom begins communicating through their broadcasts.
As the mysterious presence, dubbed Buzzkill, grows stronger by feeding on the group's fear and conflict, the friends must work together to uncover its origins, survive its manipulation, and stop it before it escapes the café entirely. Blending workplace comedy, analogue horror, mystery, and heartfelt character dynamics, the series explores how friendship can endure even when reality itself begins to unravel.
The Backroom is never truly empty.
We're looking for a pool of background voice actors to help bring the world of Broadcast from the Backroom to life. You'll voice a variety of minor and one-off characters throughout the series, including café customers, employees, bus passengers, radio callers, pedestrians, mysterious voices, and whatever else the Backroom decides to throw at our cast.
Some roles may only have a few lines, while others could return across multiple episodes. If you're cast, there's also a chance you'll be considered for future named characters as the series expands.
Requirements:
Decent microphone quality with minimal background noise.
Clear acting and the ability to portray different personalities.
Be responsive on Discord.

Jackson is Turtle Café's newest employee... and quite possibly its least qualified.
He communicates almost entirely in brainrot slang, internet memes, and references that nobody else understands. Every sentence feels like you've opened five TikToks at once. Somehow, despite speaking what sounds like a completely different language, Jackson is utterly confident in everything he says.
He's loud, chaotic, oblivious, and has an incredible talent for making already stressful situations even worse. Whether he's trying to explain a missing muffin, asking for help, or reacting to literal supernatural events, Jackson treats everything with the exact same unearned confidence.
While he's primarily a comedic character, good comedic timing is essential. His lines should be delivered naturally and confidently, never as though he's trying to force a joke. To Jackson, everything he says makes perfect sense.
Requirements:
Decent microphone quality with minimal background noise.
Strong comedic timing.
Comfortable speaking quickly and energetically.
Active on Discord for communication.

yo chat, problem: incoming like a boss battle no cap we got this dude straight up craving muffins like it's the ultimate skibidi objective BUT alas the dough levels are ZERO and my baking aura is officially NEGATIVE! I'm cooked fr fr This is giving Ohio levels of bad luck. we're about to get ratio'd by the muffin craving lore which is NOT on our side! no way im baking anything without that dough gyatt dayum. What's the fanum tax on that situation chat am I cooked?? Yeah, I'm cooked.
Bro I swear to kirk no cap, that mf about to crash the six-seven out! the lore is NOT looking good for him fr fr this is giving negative aura. that whole arc is gonna be cooked
"Bro, imagine being chased by a monster. Couldn't be me. I'd simply explain the lore until it got confused and left. Psychological warfare. Maximum aura. Easy win."
Bradley is one of the more unique personalities within Broadcast From The Backroom. He's a genuinely kind and helpful person who is always willing to lend a hand, even when things get strange.
Despite his friendly nature, Bradley has a habit of being a little bit inappropriate at times and has a slightly freaky side that catches people off guard. However, this is more due to his unusual personality and sense of humour rather than any bad intentions. He's the type of person who can make you laugh, confuse you, and make you question what he just said all in the same conversation.
While most of the cast get along with Bradley, AJ has a particularly strong dislike for him, creating a fun contrast between Bradley's easygoing attitude and AJ's frustration.
We're looking for a voice actor who can capture Bradley's friendly charm, weird humour, and unpredictable energy. Bradley's voice should feel approachable and warm, with enough personality to make his weird moments stand out. He should come across as a nice guy first, with the oddness being an extra layer rather than his entire identity.

Need a hand with that? Seriously, don't worry about it. I've fixed worse things than this. Actually... I probably shouldn't say what those things were, but trust me, you're in safe hands.
Anything for you fin~
AJ, I promise I am trying to help. You don't have to look at me like I just crawled out of a haunted cupboard. ...Although, for the record, I have been in a haunted cupboard before.
T-TED is the automated announcer aboard the Chicago TurtleBus. On the surface, he's a cheerful public transport AI whose only job is to welcome passengers, announce stops, and remind people of bus etiquette...Until something begins speaking through him.
His voice should feel distinctly robotic, but not monotone. Think of an old, slightly run-down text-to-speech system that's developed a personality over years of service. He has a high-pitched, raspy, gravelly quality, almost as if his speakers are worn out. There should also be a touch of Beetlejuice-esque theatricality to his delivery, making him strangely entertaining while still unsettling.
Requirements:
Decent microphone quality with minimal background noise.
Comfortable performing robotic speech patterns.
Able to perform glitch effects through acting (audio effects will be added in post).
