Brightly Burning Ether is an original audio/visual motion comic by Blue Vertigo. Taking cues from both comic books and traditional animation, Brightly Burning Ether (BBE for short) falls somewhere in between, similar to Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel, Watchmen: Motion Comics, and Godkiller.
Brightly Burning Ether centers around a somewhat unlucky kid named Marty Delgado, a guy who typically gets beat-up by other guys. One cold night, Marty is approached by an enigmatic woman named Koelani Sumina, who tells him that his younger brother Hunter is needed in a war against an evil being who threatens the freedom of the human race. Marty refuses to let Koelani give Hunter this responsibility alone, and Koelani unlocks both their "Etheric potentials", opening up a whole new world of power and possibility. Now Marty has to balance school life and readying himself and Hunter for the oncoming battle, but things will only get more complicated from here!
The project is currently aimed for a late 2017 release date and will be episodic in nature!
PROJECT GUIDELINES
First, some business bullet points you're probably curious about!
- Currently, this is an unpaid project. As we continue to grow, our goal is to monetize this so we can pay our awesome actors who are lending us their time, as well as opening up other opportunities for all those involved. As soon as that happens you’ll know!
- Any funding for this project is currently coming out of our own pockets!
- We are looking for a long-term commitment, but we understand time is a valuable commodity! We will work with you as far as when you’re able to record and around your schedule. Our goal is never to put you on the spot, but communication is key!
- We’ll be posting regularly in our Discord development chat. Any questions about anything will be answered there, our goal is also to never be ~mysterious~ as far as what’s going on our side!
- Every voice matters. If you’ve got some sweet ideas that you believe would add to the project, don’t be afraid to voice them! We’re always open to feedback, positive and negative. Some of the best ideas come from the least-expected places. If you have any concerns, please bring them to the table!
Lastly, here are some final notes about these roles!
- BBE won't have a ton of cursing, but you'll need to be okay with it if the occasion arises!
- Depending on your character, there will be fight scenes! This means you might have to record combat and pain grunts, as well as shouting here and there.
- Also depending on your character, there might be scenes with romantic tension or dialog! These will never go into an x-rated territory, but you might have to say some "I love you"s here and there!
