Project Overview
Hi Everyone. I'm working on a passion project at the moment. There isn't any budget for this project but this is the idea i'm working on. I'm working on a series of stories that can go into Audio Book format for children in hospitals to be able to scan a QR Code and listen to free of charge. Budgets are getting tighter and we'd like to encourage reading for young people.
I'm aiming for 3 stories to be up in the portal ready for roll out in March time. with potentially further stories to go there. All the stories are written for specifically this portal for children. They are vetted and checked and then uploaded. The end product is that the stories will be posted onto a portal for people to be able to access.
We are currently seeking New Locations for this project as Our original Location has pulled out. Please keep an eye on the casting for more information.
Just in terms of Roles for this I would like to keep at 18+ for actors. This is solely for releases purposes for the work to be utilised online.
Whilst there is no pay available for this role, i'm happy for you to utilise the recordings you make with me (With permission of any other parties involved) for voice reels. I hope we can create something special and unique that brings joy to people in these circumstances.
Just because I know this is going to be asked there is no AI in use on this project or any project I do. I do all my own editing just to streamline the process but if you do have other skills you'd like to utilise please let me know as well. Thanks, And Happy Auditioning!

This project has been pitched to a UK hospital and although there isn't a budget for it, I have been told they are interested and it would really brighten their day.

But remember this it's important you're home when Trixie comes home from school today
Rex is a Lovable Pup that's always getting into mischief. There is no requirement for animal noises but if you have a convincing bark, I'd love to hear it. For this particular story I'm happy for you to play and improvise a little and be creative wit the audition lines. I'd love the character to jump off the page a little bit.

Mr/Mrs Squirrel is a little bit like McSquizzy from Open Season mixed with Skipper from Madagascar. I would love to build in a Mr Squirrel Jr of some description into this story and have some fun with it if the comedy is right. He knows everybody and guards his tree with his life. It is where his nuts are stored for the winter. In the sense of the story as it sits, He is a bit of a 2 sided character, He has his harsher and softer side and is also comforting and reassuring Rex when he meets him in the park. But I'd like to Flesh him out a little more with the right Voice Actor making him more of a comedy character with his own arc.

Rolo is Rex's Sidekick, He's a cheeky pup who likes to play and loves Mrs Fothergill's Bacon Sandwiches. Rex and Rolo knew each other since they were pups and they love getting into mischief.

Would Accept Male vocal for this but Female Preferred. This cat is very much the female version of Garfield. She can't be bothered with Rex's Shenanigans as she puts up with them all day and regularly finds ways to take the mick out of Rex. Family Cat.

Billy and Olly only have 1 Line each in the entire drama so could double up with another role as long as it isn't Rex or Rolo if the actor would like.
Billy is one of Rex's Friends who is just your happy go lucky pet! He loves to run around but unfortunately he has to go take a bath
Olly has to go to the vet today so he's really downtrodden when playing at the park.

Mum is a small role. She basically has to tell Rex to get into the bath, The person in this role may need to be comfortable with a small bit of adlibbing and going off script so improv skills are essential. Ideally needs to be same accent as Trixie. Trixie is cast. So voice needs to match similar to actor cast with a more motherly tone

Trixie is Rex's Owner, She's bubbly and really enjoys playing with Rex at the park, Sadly Trixie can't take Rex out today so he has to find his own entertainment and he gets much more of an adventure than he bargained for.
