Bond Fire | Audio Roleplay
Project Overview
Five friends have made the habit of a yearly bonfire, but this year, things are a little different. This is an immersive story following the faceless protagonist, who over the past year has been studying aboard. While away, their boyfriend and former friend, Derek broke up with them. Our protagonist returns home and is ready to reconnect with old friends around their traditional bonfire, but things are a little awkward with Derek. It seems like he wants to rekindle old feelings, but could there be new sparks waiting to ignite?
This project will be an immersive audio roleplay with multiple endings. There are a lot of romantic themes and each ending will be the viewer/MC confessing to whichever character they choose. I will be taking part in voicing Emma, who is the MC's best friend and the "mom friend" of the group.
For auditions: Audition for as many characters as you like. Please do 2 takes for each line. My recommendation is to do one take as genuine as possible and the other as exaggerated as possible, but it's not required. However it would help me see your strengths and weaknesses.

The main character's ex boyfriend, who broke up with them while they were studying abroad. Derek is the most popular one of the group do to his aloof, yet charming nature and his natural sensitivity. Derek regrets how he handled MC going to study abroad and wants things to go back to a time before the new found awkwardness between them.
Aside from MC, Derek is closet to Logan, whom he often confides in.
He should come off as introverted, but caring.
(Talking to MC)
(Casual) Hey are you okay? Looks like you were spacing out a bit.
(MC: Did you hear that?)
(Concerned) Huh? No, I didn’t hear anything at all. Are you sure you’re okay?
(Talking to MC)
(Sheepish) I’m sorry about all the awkwardness.
(MC: Is that why you've been avoiding me?)
No, that’s not why I was avoiding you and I wasn’t avoiding you, I was giving you your space.
(Talking to MC)
(Playful) I know that look, I’m right, aren’t I? You don’t have to admit, I know it’s true. *Chuckles*
(Slightly somber, but content) I missed this, talking to you. It feels like it’s been months, well it probably has.
The main character's secret admirer, who has been in love with them for a while, but lacks the confidence to confess. Arin has anxiety, but tries their best to stay positive. Arin has come to terms with the fact that they don't feel confidant enough to confess so they just do everything they can to make MC happy.
Aside from MC Arin is closest to Emma, who helps them get through bad days while MC is away.
Arin is an androgynous character, but most times comes off more as feminine, so I would prefer to cast a more feminine voice for this, but I'm open to others.
Arin should come off as anxious, but easily excitable.
(Talking to MC)
(Excited) You’re back! Here, come sit with me, I made a s’more just the way you like it.
(Talking to MC)
(Reassuring, but somber) It's nothing to worry about, my anxiety has just been acting up a bit more since you left— (Quickly clarifying) It's not because of you though. (Quieter) Please don't think this is your fault.
(Talking to MC)
(Casual) Oh a couple months ago, Emma and I went to a new cafe in town, it’s called something like the Paradise Cafe— But anyway, they have bubble tea and it is so good!
The main character's close friend, who has a flirty demeanor toward them. Logan is very energetic and sometimes over the top, but just wants everyone to have a good time. Logan has always been flirtatious with MC playing it off as a joke, but have recently realized his feelings might be more genuine.
Aside from MC, Logan is closest to Derek, but also has a close relationship with Emma.
Logan should come off as energetic, but considerate.
(Talking to group)
(Casually explaining) Just because I did track in high school doesn’t mean I’m athletic and I only did it because it would look good on my college application. (Dramatic) You can’t base it on that, this is an unfair trial!
(Talking to MC)
(Flirty) Yeah I get that, but hey now that you’re single again, you can finally confess your feelings for me. (Teasing) Aw come on, you can’t tell me all those little looks you used to give me meant nothing.
(Talking to MC)
(Considerate) On the surface it looks a little selfish, but you deserve to be with someone you let's you be a little selfish. (Flippant) Heh, look at me talking like I know anything about relationships.
