Boba Boyz
Project Overview
INTRODUCTION
Hey boba lovers! This casting call is for Boba Boyz: the Video Game Musical! From the creators of Celestival: the Podcast Musical, ChillaMix is producing an all new visual novel video game musical (I know, a mouthful) containing elements of pop, rock, rap, and latin music.
We're casting for the 4 main roles of Boba Boyz, the baristas of the hottest boba tea shop in town! Auditioners for these main roles will be asked to rap, sing, and voice act. NOTE: One of our roles asks for Spanish speaking, while another askes for Korean. You do not have to be fluent in these languages, but ability to read/pronounce the languages accurately is strongly preferred.
For main roles we're paying $20 for this project. All payments are made through PayPal and will be sent to actors once all recordings have been sent in.
We will credit all of our voice actors on the home screen of the Boba Boyz visual novel game. The credits include voice actors names, contact information, and favorite drink :)
STORY OVERVIEW
Boba Boyz centers around a tea shop with a secret: their boba actually brings happiness to it's customers! But when the boys need a new employee after their last crew member mysteriously disappears, boba won't be the only thing our player falls in love with.
DEADLINES AND AUDITIONSThe deadline for auditions is July 3rd, 2022. We'll notify voice actors who have been cast in roles by July 6th and send scripts to voice actors the same day. We need to receive all lines back from voice actors by July 20th.
WHAT TO EXPECTWe communicate primarily through Discord. If you are unfamiliar with Discord, you can still audition, however, we strongly recommend participation through Discord so that you can collaborate with your fellow voice actors. We've used Discord with other projects and it has been of immense value.
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU- Please submit clean recordings (no air conditioners, fans, etc. in the background, please!). Let us handle the post-production. No need to add effects to your lines :)
- We ask you to record as many takes of you lines as you'd like, and send us your best/favorite 3-5 of each line.
- Please submit your recordings either through our email address or discord, which will be provided to you after casting.
- We do occasionally ask for line re-dos, but we do this sparingly and only after great consideration - we realize your time is valuable, and we won't ask for anything we can't work around in edits.
- Have fun! We had such a blast creating this project, and would love to have you enjoy it just as much as we do :)

Aero is seductive, dominant, and intimidating. His voice should be on the deeper side. He's a Korean male doing modeling work in the U.S., but it's not enough to pay the bills, which is how he wound up the manager at the boba shop. Aero is in his early 20's. He's playful but won't put up with anyone's BS.

Berkeley is an angsty teen that is always stressed out. He should sound like a desperate dubbed anime male lead. Think Deku from MHA. He is very emotional and the epitome of cringe, but deep down, he just wants to be loved.

Carmen is bubbly, fun, and a total simp. He likes gaming and is bursting with energy. His voice should be overflowing with joy. I should hear you smiling. Feel free to throw in a laugh or two! He's an African-American male in his early 20's.

Diego is flirtatious and hardworking. He's always willing to lend a hand, whether it's to help clean up a spilled drink, or to lead you to the dance floor. He is a Latino male in his early 20's.
