Project Overview

Beneath the Towers is a dark, adventure animated series that follows Justin Talbolt, a rookie security guard, who has to face an unexpected world that lurks underneath the Grand Towers, a theme park where imagination runs wild but not in the way you may believe. With his friends, the influencer Isaak Eden and the anarchist Ivy Wylls, they would need to find out their lost camera whilst uncovering the secrets behind the towers.

Overview:

One of the old legends of Grand Towers. Corkscrew now spends most of his retirement time in the Dark Forest Tavern, brewing drinks for himself and others (If he pleases). He has the pride that came from his youth, but decided to detach himself from the thrilling life to be an observer from side lines. He can be aloof once you meet him. But when you get to know him, he brings out tales and moments that you never expected from a man like him. However, he can be a bit of a gatekeeper, deciding who gets a good time and the good sides of his books. So try not to get on his bad side.


Voice Actor preferences: He is African American, so it will be preferred to have an actor from those backgrounds to play his character.


Accents: Of course, like from the preference he has for an American accent, but to be specific, from New Orleans, so it should be hinted at in his voice


How does he talk? He is a direct man, but his tone is low and steady. Keeping it cool all around. He does tend click his tongue a lot once he gets annoyed. But once comfortable, he brings out a sense of fatherly tones and care throughout the conversation if a peer of his is upset.


Range: His range is low. Pretty reasonable considering he is an older man


Voice Reference: Dr Facilier from Princess and the Frog for his accent and range, and Rodin from Bayonetta for his personality

Overview:

The fiery (former) queen of speed herself. She is comfortable yet still maintains her charm from her former days, a mature woman who seems a bit detached, as if searching for a way out of situations she finds troublesome to handle. She's quick-witted and quickly takes action when something is up. With her elegance and "don't mess with me" attitude, Rita will surely make sure the people around her have a good time.

Voice Actor preferences: Rita is a trans woman, so it is recommended that trans fem or trans women actors try out for her. If you're able to capture the essence of her character, that is also being considered. 

accents: Rita has a standard American accent, with an extra flair or specificity, such as Midwestern, or "Midwest Steel", for example, in Chicago.

Range: Her range is mid-low

How does she talk? She speaks with a slow, sensual tone, making her appear seductive, depending on who she is speaking to. A good example of a reference would be Lest from Arcane (the voice reference).

Overview:

Toxicator (Toxi), the fearless brawler from the underground compounds, the unfortunate surviving victims of the Wrath of Nemesis. With her beauty wiped away by the beast that was meant to be contained, Toxicator set out on a mission to defeat Nemesis herself, even if her body begins to mutate and decay at the same time. She's bold, brash and determined to give a piece of her own mind, whilst growing her love of the art of lucha libre the more she experiments. Despite her tough demeanour, she always makes a good first impression, surely, by bursting through walls that stand in her way. Think of her as an edgy version of Toast in Bee and Puppycat.  But all in all, Toxicator will always have her own fun moments as well with the others in Seek in Truth.

Voice Actor preferences: .  You would also need to be comfortable doing screaming and fighting grunts, as she is a wrestler.


Accents: Her accent would be rather English-sounding. We're open to any accents for Toxicator. 


How does she talk? Toxi has an eccentric voice. Loud,  rough, like a maniac. But that's because she dramatises it for the matches and shows, as she always considers them entertainment whilst practising. She is a lot more toned down when she is not under the spotlight, with a self-assured attitude, even if it sometimes can come across as cocky behaviour, according to peers around her.


Range: Mid-range for an adult Woman

Overview:

Phoebe, the child-friendly side of the Grand towers (equivalent to CBeebies Land at Alton Towers).  She acts like the typical presenters from shows dedicated towards toddlers. She's bright, bubbly, and wishes every child to be safe in her way and standards. However, there are signs that she demonstrates no sincere interest in the emotions and thoughts of others. Wishing to make everything and everybody act in a certain way, for her benefit, or more so, her beliefs.  Although she does get easily picked on by the main trio, which shows that there is something further than meets the eye with Phoebe. Her character is inspired by Warren the Eagle from Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared. Everyone loves Phoebe, right??? RIGHT???

Voice Actor preferences: the actor must also be comfortable doing screams and sound like they're having mental breakdowns in character, too. Since this is the type of character that would have that happen.

Accents: any form of British accent, Northern leaning specifically, Scottish can be allowed with her as well. 

Range: mid-high range (in her forced voice), but make a switch to middle ranges that lean lower ranges if the actor can.

How does she talk?  Her usual voice is the typical presenter's, think Miss Rachel, but more forced.  She sounds friendly and caring; however, there is something there that will make her sound off, uncanny even. In a few seconds, she would have a breakdown. So make her sound a bit unhinged or out of touch

Overview:

A.I.R was a machine built by a corporation, their purpose was to weaken and defeat Nemesis. Like hero and villain, meant to be the opposites of each other. However, once he began to realise his worth, it was already too late.  Getting himself replaced with someone who stole his parts. They had enough of how the world treated the Strange folk 5, therefore leading him to Stellaris (Virtual World) to shield this new variant whilst using their body to grow stronger and stronger so they can have a chance to defeat the one's who created him. He's lawful good, or so they believe, with self mission that they want to gain more power through the variant. And unfortunately, he would not be stopping anytime soon.


Voice Actor preferences:  they are rather androgynous, with a masculine lean, so anyone can try out for air if they are comfortable with voicing them. Additionally, it will be edited with voice effects over their voice, so they/you must be sure that you are comfortable with having your voice edited and slightly distorted to fit with Air's character.


Accents: A.I.R. is a machine; in the majority of the scenes, they would be in standard English

Range: mid-range, androgynous


How do they talk?  1 word, monotone. Air speaks in a soft, gentle yet uncanny tone. Additionally, it is robotic, meaning your voice should not place any form of tone or emotion in your audition.

Overview:

Tick Tock, Conductor Runaway is here. He is an eccentric, professional yet slightly uncompromising individual who is passionate about his craft. Despite having high standards and perfectionism. He gets driven by a constant fear of consequences and does whatever it takes to stall his impending doom, despite being uncertain, not knowing a way to properly. The uncertainty stems from the fact that he hears a ticking clock in his head that will not stop. Which leads him to believe that if the clock stops ticking, his body will too. So he's always on the run, exploring all of The Grand Towers as many times as he wishes and brings passengers along the way too.  Despite the strict exterior, he is sensitive at heart, trying to shield himself from troubles along the way. Also, you know he's in a good mood when he says "choo, choo"


Think of him as Tangerine from Bullet Train mixed with the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.


Accents: Welsh accent or at least an accent coming from the Midlands/Northerner


Range: mid-range for an adult male


How does he talk? He's a man of his word, direct, honest and can come off as mean. He is also fast-paced, as he is always on the run. He maintains a professional demeanour to most newcomers; if one is not a good person in his books, he can go aggressive. With his usual close friends, he would do typical banter and teasing, showing hints of anxious sides as well.

The quiet yet deadly Oblivion, always there without you knowing. Placing a sense of mystery and hints of dark humour around his character. Oblivion's voice gets distorted when he wears his helmet, making him not very recognisable. We're planning to do this with voice distortions and such. However, overall, to make it easier for the said voice. His vocal range is low. 

-For an additional touch, you can apply a Northern accent if you would like to be more specific to his character. It's not mandatory, but it is a final touch

(As a reference for the distortion, think of Reaper from Overwatch. But if Oblivion has his helmet off, he would sound like Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy XVI.)
