BARE | SHORT FILM
Project Overview
BARE is an original experimental student film centered around the theory of animalism and the effects that societal expectations have on personal relationships.
The short film centers around Jean and Nora, a couple who are experiencing turbulence in their relationship while witnessing unexplained mental imagery of wildlife. In their confusion, they can only seem to express their frustration onto one another.
This audition is for the narrator of the short film. He explains the theory of animalism whilst the film displays the events of Jean and Nora's arguments, unheard as their voices are muted, leaving only their visual expression.
All auditions are welcomed and incredibly appreciated! Your take on the narrator is important, never be afraid to take that step!
PROJECT & SUBMISSION DETAILS
As it is a student film and I am a film student, this is an unpaid project.
High quality recordings are preferred.
Communication will primarily be through email.
This is my first casting call, please be patient with me.
The film is being created in South Africa by a team of South African student film makers. Auditions in a South African accent are highly appreciated but I am aware of the difficulties of performing in this accent so it is not mandatory.
If you have any questions, please let me know!
I'm looking forward to seeing the auditions!

Animalism's hallmark claims concern our basic metaphysical nature: whether we are material or immaterial; simple or composite; substance, property, process or event; organic or inorganic; etc. In this context, the animalist asserts simply: We are animals.
