Project Overview
BanG Dream! (known as Bandori) is a Japanese rhythm media franchise created by Bushiroad.
The original story was made by Ko Nakamura, and character designs by Hitowa.
Season 2 of the anime follows the members of Poppin'Party. Kasumi and the members of Poppin'Party were busy with student council works, house chores, school lessons and part-time jobs when they became 2nd year students. The time spent together with the 5 of them starts to decrease that they can hardly gather in the basement which is their base. As they are wondering what to do, one girl starts to make her appearance...

Chisato is normally very polite and friendly, and gets along with others fairly well. However, she also has a surprisingly blunt side to her personality, and can come across as cold or condescending. This personality is not always provoked, though she tends to be more blunt when she is annoyed or around Kaoru, as she does not appreciate her dramatic personality.

A serious and fussy girl, Sayo is somewhat cold in nature, even towards those she is close to. She never cuts corners or accepts shoddy workmanship, and is far too serious for her own good. She tends to stubbornly deny liking or being fond of certain things, such as fluffy animals or french fries.
Mind your manners. The new students will be arriving soon. As upperclassmen, I expect you to be on your best behavior.

Rimi is a shy and reserved girl who admires her older sister and often gushes over her. She tends to compare herself to the others frequently, and wishes she could be more confident and be able to "speak up" more often. Rimi is cute and sweet-natured, and often blushes when flustered, but at times can be very determined and strong as well.
O-Tae-chan, do you know about this fountain? They say if you toss a coin into it, your dreams will come true.

A flamboyant actress, Kaoru has an extravagant personality. She is rather pretentious and bombastic, having a tendency to use impressive sounding words to the point of sounding foreign and hard to understand. She sees herself as a prince, and sees other girls as the princess while quoting Shakespeare or other philosophers (sometimes incorrectly). She appears highly flirtatious, and is very popular among other girls, not only for her passionate mannerisms, but because she is also surprisingly reliable. If she is aware someone may be in a bad mood or feels sad, she will try to encourage them or help them feel better.
Ahh... What a fabulous day. It seems the sun is putting up a fight, in an attempt to not be outdone by my elegance.

A relaxed individual who lives at her own pace, Tae sometimes surprises the people around her with her keen observations and understanding of music. She carries a sense of knowing in her discussions with others, while always keeping an optimistic outlook on a situation.

Rimi was on bass, Saya was banging her drums, and Kasumi was singing and playing her guitar.
Arisa is an introvert whose hobbies include tending for bonsai plants and internet surfing. Even though she's basically a shut-in and admits being lazy by nature, she still manages to achieve excellent results in school. She is quite moody and grumpy, and because of her sharp tongue, often gets into arguments with others (especially Kasumi). Usually, however, this is because she is unable to be honest with herself.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You may have mentioned that yesterday… And this morning… And at break time.

A kind, empathetic and hardworking person who cares deeply about her friends and family, Saaya often lends an ear to Kasumi and Rimi. She is generally level-headed and easygoing, and is like an 'older sister' to the other girls, always willing to help them out in hard times.
Hold on! That Ichigaya special rolled omelet is reserved for me.

Lisa is a friendly and lively girl who appears mature and calm. Despite her appearance, Lisa acts as the mediator in tense situations, and takes care of everyone well. It's because of her that Roselia is able to continue to stick together despite the contrasting members personalities and disagreements at times. She often chides the others if she feels necessary, bringing balance to the group.

On the outside, Aya is very cheery, high-spirited, and bubbly. She is also very nice and has always been in love with idols. She is unselfish in her pursuits, helping others for the sake of being kind. Deep down, however, she is a sensitive girl who suffers from a complex stemming from her desire to be noticed. Adding to this, she does not wear her disguise outside because she wants to get noticed, and even looks up constantly what people think of her on the internet. She gets worked up easily and tends to cry a lot, thus her improvisation skills are poor.

While Ran has no particular interests, she is strong-willed and hates losing, and is the type of person to treasure her childhood friends and family deeply. Despite this, she founded Afterglow as an attempt to rebel against her father, who wants her to inherit the school. Ran has an aloof nature, which hides her loneliness from other people. Deep down, she wishes to become closer to others, but can be socially awkward and has a tendency to trip over her words. She can be easily flustered and is somewhat hot-blooded.
Lucky or not, you’ve got an important job as the final act.

Socially awkward, Rinko is a shy and asocial girl who was initially too frightened to speak in front of others, let alone perform before them. She has a tendency to stammer when speaking, and usually keeps quiet until she feels comfortable.

She DID ask me to do it, but... But I wanted to get over this, you know? The first step to conquering your fears is exposing yourself to them. As fellow keyboardists, I hope we can do our best going forward.

Tomoe is a fairly relaxed person, who never says anything bad about other people or holds grudges against them. She keeps the band from falling apart. She is idolized for her cool, but mature way of handling things. Despite her mature, punk look, she is very caring towards others and is always there to lend support or a shoulder to cry on. While she is unable to understand Ako's behavior at times, she loves her sister and supports her.
Oh, totally! More like 10 kilos!

Himari is cheerful, good-natured, and is the band coordinator. She struggles to read the mood of a situation, which means she sometimes does things that have no effect. She's weak to tear-jerkers and sentimental episodes, and is fairly romantic. She is also weak to being teased, and tends to be clumsy and fall around at times.
Ah, did they just add that to the menu? “The Master Coffee that aficionados vouch for. Brewing techniques straight from that one shop!” Huh… That sounds impressive.
I know! Why don’t you come up with an original blend of your own? It’d be called Hazawa Coffee’s Tsugu Special, of course!

Cheerful and always in high spirits, Kasumi is a playful, active and generally positive girl that always finds something to be excited about.
She is capable of sharing a mental wavelength with Kokoro, something nobody else seems to be able to do. She is also the type to believe in (or fall for) the strangest explanations. However Kasumi is also quite forgetful, tending to do important things by last moment (though unintentionally so.)
She loves to tease Arisa, but given her kind personality, it's hard to tell if she is deliberately trying to provoke her or if she's oblivious. At times she can also behave melodramatically.

I wanna play live again. Even if it’s just at the warehouse, I wanna play with you guys.
Lively and passionate for sports, Hagumi is known for her sunny disposition and energetic nature. She is cheery and can be a bit of a show-off, but she usually doesn't take things too far. She tries to convince others to indulge in her sporty hobbies at times. Despite her tomboyish personality, Hagumi has an affinity for cute things and has a complex over her boyish appearance. She especially loves Michelle's costume due to how it resembles a large stuffed bear. She can also be surprisingly sensitive and cautious of others' emotions as well, and dislikes competition due to the fact that somebody will always lose and feel bad for it.
Mhm, I'm getting really excited! It's even cuter than I expected it to be, and it definitely gets the idea of fun across!
Ah, but I don't really get magic! Even that time when we were doing it at the hospital, flowers would come floating down and doves would appear without me even knowing why!
We get to try out so many fun things with Hello, Happy World! Just think about how we've had a marching outfit, a circus outfit, how many different things we've done...
Misaki is kind, reserved and considerate, however she is also known to reply sarcastically and sometimes struggle with the other girls in her band, with the exception of Kanon, whom she considers the only other reasonable member. Naturally, she ends up becoming the "straight man" of the group, scolding or commenting on the antics of the other members in immediate response.
...Today's rehearsal is going nowhere! Same as always!

Animals from different backgrounds came together for one purpose, and so they set out on a journey to be the Bremen Town Musicians.
A natural genius with an impeccable memory, Hina can acquire and master new skills very quickly, often even with just one attempt; as a result, she tends to get bored of things quickly and is always looking out for new and interesting things to do. She is very cheerful and carefree, but her relaxed mindset also makes her unable to understand other people's emotions, and as such doesn't sometimes notice if she's insulting them. With this, Hina is also very candid, always being honest and sure of both herself and her actions, though at times she ends up being more blunt than honest
The word around town is that it's a good-luck charm. Not sure what's so lucky about it, but it's cute and you can squish it.
Scales remind me of the Greek goddess Astraea. She holds one herself. Her story is pretty famous.
The stars in space, like islands floating in the sea... Yeah, that's poetic!
Moca doesn't really have anything that she's super into, but she's the type who will get really worked up about the person she loves. The only interest she has continued to like over a long period of time is instruments. She is playful and often teases others to the point of having to be told by others to stop. Being fairly confident and sure of herself, she often showcases and comments on her own charms, passing off things like having breadcrumbs on her face as "part of her cuteness". Though while relaxed in most cases, her worries make her transparent.

If I go to everyone acting all serious about something, they'll get worried. I can hear them now. "Who are you and what have you done with Moca-chan~?!"
Sensible and responsible, Kanon is one of the members within Hello, Happy World! that manages to keep the band running smoothly, although she is likely to space out and start thinking about jellyfish. She is fairly shy and easily flustered, and can become a nervous wreck at the drop of a hat and start crying if she feels overwhelmed. Whenever she gets nervous or overwhelmed she tends to say "fuee". However, she is also shown to have moments where she is determined and takes matters into her own hands.

You know, I'm normally just going with the flow like a jellyfish, but I think today I might have shown a bit of my own will.
It seems that even though there's a penguin that leads, it's not necessarily considered the leader.
A tomboy who appears awkward around other people, Maya isn't very social and does not take care of her hair and skin, and used to be a bit socially withdrawn prior to becoming a drummer. But around musical equipment she becomes ecstatic and is impossible to stop when talking about her beloved hobby.
Hmm, apparently when we were recording, I was so pumped up that I didn't feel anything, not even how tired I was...
Without that opportunity, it's certainly not a place I'd chose to go to on my own. I feel like it was a great experience!
I-If you don't mind, could we talk about music someday?!
Tsugumi views herself as the most normal girl in the band. However, she is a very hardworking and optimistic person who rarely gets discouraged, and her optimism buoys the other members' spirits. She is the one who also pushes the band to do and try different challenges, such as entering the Girls Jam concert event, and Tsugumi was even the one to suggest that the girls start a band. She can easily get flustered however, and tends to panic or have trouble with dealing with people whom she hasn't met before.
Ahaha... Stop, I'm so embarrassed... I wasn't even really thinking about it. I just thought, "I wanna try!" And everything just sort of followed from there...
The only way for me to keep doing my part is to just practice as much as I can!
The studio was full yesterday when I checked. I wonder if there's somewhere I can play without bothering anyone...
A bright girl who tackles everything standing in her path full throttle. She is enthusiastic and chipper, eager to learn all that she can about Japan. At times her thought process can be strange, and when going on about Bushido and other samurai-related things, which she takes quite seriously, she comes off as humorous. Her actions also tend to confuse Aya and the people around her.
Eve is easygoing, polite and loves hugging people. Though she has some misconceptions about Japan and sometimes misunderstands what other people say, Eve always tries her best to learn.
I wish we had brought lunch! With rice balls and pickled daikon wrapped in bamboo leaves would be perfect!
I love the environment that I'm in now! Back then I wasn't able to build any relationships based on trust, but now I have that with everyone here!
Just the other day, the group that inspired Aya-san to become an idol broke up. Aya-san was really depressed when she heard they were going to break up... She couldn't focus during rehearsal, she was like an empty shell.
Ako has chuunibyou tendencies, and has illusions of grandeur and magical powers. Rinko suspects this is the result from her playing online games frequently. She enjoys playing the role while keeping a realistic mentality. She is very cheery and noisy, and, despite only being two years younger than the other band members, is treated like the kid sister by the other characters due to her childlike appearance and personality.
Ako often wonders how she can be a "cooler" person, and sometimes feels inadequate compared to her other band mates, especially since Yukina and Sayooccasionally ignore her or scoff at her ideas at times.
Sayo-san, why don't we take a look around town while we're here?! If we talk to the townspeople, we can learn more about this world~!
She who wields the forbidden power... The sacred but fallen angel, Princess Ako...! Fufu, fufufufu...
Lisa-nee also seemed to be having a good time! As for Yukina-san... Hehe, she may seem all cool and put together, but in the game world, she was clumsy and awkward!
An idealistic and charismatic young girl coming from a ridiculously rich family, Kokoro dreams of making the entire world smile from music. She effortlessly attracts others to her due to her bright and bubbly nature, and often manages to get them swept up into her easygoing pace. Because of her charismatic and naturally imposing personality, she is often able to do and get what she wants. She is also extremely curious and easily amazed, charmed by new things she discovers in the world around her.
Although Kokoro has the optimism and charm of a natural leader, she is also quite scatterbrained and ditzy, and would not be able to get much done without the others in the group helping her. She also has said that she doesn't know what it feels like to be sad, and does always her best to combat any kind of negative feelings.
Okay, I've got it now! Anyway, I wanted to talk to you, Kanon. It's about the cruise. You were kidnapped by the thief, right? I talked to the staff on the ship, but... no one had any idea who it was.
We all worked together and played lots of games against the thief, and we were able to get Kanon back!
Rehearsals go really well now, we don't even need signals to stay in time!
Yukina has a cold-blooded and cut-throat attitude towards reaching her goals, cutting down any obstacles in her path. She expects nothing less than perfect and takes practice very seriously. Because of this, she has no qualms with chiding or insulting someone if she feels they are underperforming. She is openly dismissive to people she deems below her standards.
However, with the few people who are on her good side, she is not quite as strict as usual. She also has a liking for cats, though she refuses to admit it. While she is indifferent to most things that aren't singing, Yukina also sees this as her weakness.
Outside of her bandmates, whom she calls by their first names, she refers to everyone with their last names.
Last time, when we fell out of sync on that final phase. Times like that are where the fruits of our daily focus really show.
Ako's always talking while beating out a perfect rhythm on those drums, too... If she'd just keep quiet, she could probably do even better.
It's nothing out of the ordinary either. If we don't practice more often and more efficiently, we won't reach the heights that we are aiming for.
