Band Pride is an upcoming original story-plotted racing game regarding band instruments turned into GO-KARTS! Depending on which instrument you choose to play throughout the story, your main band-kart will be based on the instrument you play as you go through personalized upgrades. This game serves as an important and motivating message to stay confident in what you believe in, because it will always come back to you. No matter how long it takes to find your strength and take a stand against musical emotional destruction, you should always stay true to yourself and stand up for what you believe in.

This is a deferred paid, and long-term project, meaning people get to choose to be unpaid or paid for this project. Discord is required for communication! Failure to add your username will be dismissed.

This has been in the works for 3 years, and now we're in full-production and we have now released our first trailer, as of July 19th! Due to a low amount of crew members, we will be expanding our team and we're now looking for singers, a few people for 3D modeling assistance (Blender preferred), and hopefully someone that can help me out for Unreal Engine coding.


Summary

You, Devereux Dempsey, start off as a homeless and starved adult who has lost everything. While being the only family member alive, he starts off brand new into a community band by gaining back interest to play a musical instrument from when he was in middle and high school bands just by not only a piece of paper, but a flier that is served to many other musicians to be encouraged on joining a band. Your band director, Ms. Lavender, first finds you and becomes worried sick about your current state, so you are encouraged to have the best life you will ever receive as not only the next big musician, but a motorist around the world. As time goes on, you will encounter section leaders and other friends that can guide you throughout the game, including assistance from your band director.

  • Casting Deadline + Thank You - 8/12/24

    Hello band students!

    Thank you all so much for your wonderful auditions for Band Pride! In case of potential last minute auditions, I have extended the deadline to August 14th @11:30PM (CST). Casting may vary depending on how many submissions are for Desiree, a few side characters, and Penguin. If you DON'T get cast for the role you wanted, you have the option to beta test with me and the cast and crew. If your audition impresses me and we have potential extra characters for you to VA, I'll be reaching out to you real soon via Discord!

    Auditions will be voted by me and the cast and crew in our private server some time this week, unless if there are any last minute auditions. As I am currently in a tight, but flexible schedule personally, I'm trying my hardest to make this game a fun experience for those involved.

  • Update - 8/7/24

    Hello band students!

    Just want to inform everyone that there's a new game beta testing role for those who want to play test the game early prior to the demo's release. In case you don't get cast as a VA or anything particular, you have the option to apply as a beta tester! I am the only one coding this game unfortunately. 😭

    Also, the deadline is now August 12th due to a few of our current members going on vacation at this time. PLEASE add your Discord username, as it's our main communication and we have a private server that we'll be showing development and updates for this game. Casting will be on August 15th due to a competitive portion of auditions for the Penguin Baker. If you get cast, you will be under NDA unless I announce otherwise. If you get a friend request from me on the casting date, this means you are cast!

    Hello there band students,

    I want to inform everyone that the casting deadline is August 1st for crew roles and some VA roles that are currently in need for auditions ASAP. Please kindly share this new page to as many auditionees as you can, so we can continue working on this game and hopefully finish the demo later this year.

    We are still looking for more artists, a few composers, singers for bonus tracks, and hopefully I can get some 3D modeling and Unreal devs to help out, as I am the only one having to do character modeling and coding for this game. Like what it says on the description, payment is optional due to struggling financially for now. Also, thank you SO much for all of the support you have given me and my huge cast and crew! The trailer just hit 420+ views in one week, and I am truly honored to keep going into this project.

Band Pride will be made in Unreal Engine 5, and I (Director Dillon) am currently the only one coding this game, so I may need your help in case of potential bugs and vice-versa.

Desiree is the band's section leader for the euphonium section. Desiree strives to bring hope toward the other musicians, while becoming an outstanding, "pitched-perfect leader". Desiree's bright and rogue red hair represents passion, energy, and boldness. Whenever Jack procrastinates and becomes less confident, Desiree ends up getting into a lot of pressure by taking over both Jack's tubas and her euphoniums.
