AWP - Doctor Who Full Cast Fan Audio Series - S1E2
Project Overview
Another World Productions is an audio production group who aim to produce "fan" and original content audio drama/radio plays, animated audio comics, audio books, short stories and ongoing serials with actors who are starting out, amateur, semi-professional or just like to act for fun.
We are building a safe and welcoming community of actors, audio engineers, writers and producers. Our senior staff come from a background in radio presenting/audio production, social media music performance and production and film scripting. We have unfortunately seem a lot of snobbery and judgement against hobbyists and novice artists and we want to offer a community with a level playing field where we can talk, share ideas and produce content. At the moment, none of our projects are paid but as we produce more original content that may change in the future.
We are currently working on a full cast fan audio drama series of Doctor Who original stories and occasional novel adaptations which, it is planned, will be a long term series and the first released project of our group.
All parts are unpaid and production of this project is second to full time day jobs.
Regarding the parts below:
Several of these parts will appear in Episode 2 and 3 as it is a two part story. If the character appears in both parts it will have (2-3) beside the name. Be aware the next script (part 3) will be delivered in around 4 weeks time.
The part of Samantha Beckett/The Rani is a character who will show up again at some point. If you audition for this part, be aware there is a strong potential to return several times so this will require a commitment.
All other parts are for episode 2 only. More casting calls will be added as writing progresses on each episode.

A British accent is preferred but not essential.
A renegade Time Lord like The Doctor, her real name is Ushas (pronounced “OOsh-as”).
She is better known as The Rani and attended the academy on Gallifrey with The Doctor, The Master and several other renegades.
She is brilliant and a scientific genius, but is amoral and believes the end always justifies the means, especially in the name of science. Her specialty is Neurochemistry.
She has a love/hate relationship with The Doctor as they had been close friends in the academy, but he has foiled her plans and twisted experiments on a number of occasions since they left Gallifrey.
In this incarnation she appears to be in her early 40s to early 50s. She is slim and elegant, has shoulder length dark brown curly hair which frames her pale almost porcelain skin. This makes her large dark brown eyes and thin red lips stand out even more. She always has a slight smile which enhances her attractiveness, but gives her a cold and almost cruel demeanor.
She is using the alias of Samantha Beckett while acting as the CEO of Apollo's Coffee Company and presenting herself as a high powered business woman. Her personality in this guise is not really different from her own natural personality.

*Sounding irritated* This is Beckett at control. What’s going on and what do you mean “strange clothing”? Is it the Police? Health Patrol? What are they doing with him? Is the operation in danger of being compromised?
*Sounding shocked and serious* It says what?!? Are you sure?? Describe it to me! Quickly!
*Sounding amused but threatening at the same time while talking to herself* Come into my parlour said the spider to the fly. Oh Doctor, it’s been such a long time. I look forward to seeing you again… I’ll be waiting.
Apollo’s Coffee Public Relations Executive. A man of questionable repute.
In his late twenties, he is tall and slim with short dark hair which is styled perfectly. He has a cold hard smile. He wears expensive suits as he believes appearance is everything. He is very charming, but it’s an artificial charm of someone who knows how and when to use it but is insincere.
He is self serving, power hungry, focused on money and amoral. He will do what he has to do to get what he wants and is not above making problem people “vanish”. Think of a stereotypical dirty politician for this character.
You said that you know this man and he’s a troublemaker? The last thing we need is trouble. We don’t need him sniffing around now, that could jeopardize the whole operation.
Of course Samantha, I meant no offence obviously.
My name’s Jefferson Miller, I’m the Apollo’s Coffee Public Relations Executive and you are both trespassing.
A male actor who plays Doctor Andrew Cassen on As The Universe Turns, a daytime low budget soap, who thinks he is an A-List celebrity.
He is in his late 30’s, attractive in a “not quite handsome enough for a leading man” kind of way, but believes he is rugged and irresistible.
Has a deep and masculine voice. He is self important, shallow and arrogant. Anyone who isn’t an actor or famous he sees as “the little people” and is more than a little misogynistic.
*Speaking smugly* Yes, that’s right. As I’m sure you’re aware, I play Doctor Andrew Cassen on As The Universe Turns. I suppose you would be looking to take a holograph selfie with me and have me sign it?
*Looking down his nose in disgust* Yes. I was referring to you. Uncultured and uncouth.
*Agitated and speaking very quickly* Yesyesyes I’m fine. Just fine. Feeling great. Yesyesyes. Thankyou thankyou thankyou.
A security guard. They can be any race, age or sex.
This is Guard 1701D, patrolling processing department B. Did anyone else hear something weird a moment ago around my area?
This is Guard 1764A, confirmed, I just left packing department B and am crossing into your area. I heard it too.
A mild mannered factory worker. He is happy as he enjoys his job, has just got married and had his department transfer approved.
The honeymoon was fantastic and it was great coming back to find out they approved my transfer to processing.
More money and better overtime. I need the extra money so Alice and I can afford that new place.

Excuse me! Sorry to interrupt, but I was wondering if you could help me? My name’s Robert and I’m Heston Kline’s limo driver.

*Talking in a low voice* This is A7 observation, position 5, active hyper has been spotted entering alley between 3rd and 4th blocks.
